- Just got an IA squad of Wellingtons when flying online, shot down some of them, but when I got no ammo, I've tried to cut its elevator, but the maneuver went wrong and I severely damaged my plane. I was about to parachute when i recovered control and then... :)

The monotonous, repetitive radio chatter in Il-2 has always been a disgrace. Falcon 4.0 did that MUCH better, and it's way older than Il-2.

The cockpit and canopy are wrong for the "E" version, as well as the cowling bulges for the machine guns; though the wings look correct. Looks closer to a FW-190 canopy and cockpit.
You were really lucky you shot off that vertical stabalizer at 1:20! I have a question though... did you use rudder while firing on the bombers? It looked as though you didn't.
Weren't you on the briefing when before the dunkerque JG26 was instructed of attacking Wellingtons from the sides or from below :)

damn this game was quite good, good for a quick flight and attacking bombers (especially the sunderlands) was my favourite bit. I was heartbroken when the promised patch never came and they abandoned it.

I simply trim the plane to be neutral pitch at the speed I calculate to be shooting. I avoid unnecessary corrections in that way.

Why don't the Wellington tail-gunners ever fire at you when you come at them from behind!? They either have really bad luck when it comes to reloading or... they haven't quite finished their tea yet. How British.

Quick question, is there a way to trim my aileron left or right? I know there are hotkeys in the options menu but they don't seem to be working for me. My plane slightly rolls to the left all the time. Maybe it's my joystick?
It's normal, not all planes had aileron trims by that time... You have to manually compensate it.
I aim at the engines it will take out bombers quickly.
Dino Wall Aim for the bottom of the engines(where the fuel tank is) or for the connection between the wing and the fuselage.
But a burst or two in the main body can't hurt, you can usually hit a few of the gunners that way.

A lot of B17s would end up landing at base with only one engine, half the crew dead or injured, and locked up landing gear among other things.
There's a reason they were called the Flying Fortress.

The Flying Gasmask FSX has no WWII combat action. This is, like the tittle says, IL-2 Sturmovik: Cliffs of Dover simulator :)
Tuckie1000 i knew that, he asked if it was an arcade game, so i said it was like FSX during ww2 with guns... i have IL-2 Battle of starlingrad and FSX my self, so i can see the difference. And in FSX can you change the date back to ww2, and download addon planes from ww2 ;)

Es una pérdida del 25% de la superficie de sutentación, con el 75% restante, pedal derecho a fondo, alerón contrario (nemos mal que funcionaba el que quedaba) y potencia a tope, el impacto contra el suelo no fue tan fuerte. Hay fotos de incidentes parecidos durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial, no es broma...

Do you use your mouse to keep your eyes on enemies? It's quite difficult to me, my Joystick has a upper button to do it but it just aims 90 degrees up/down left/right nothing less. (I play 1946)

Unfortunately besides being hard of not meeting here in Brazil the Track IR is very expensive. We fly in Cliffs of Dover, if you have the game and the teamspeak is the invitation to appear on our channel.

TIP: aim for the wings and the engines on the planes. Fuselage is usually heavily armored and doesn't do a lot to bring down the plane. You will end up wasting ammo and not efficiently using ammo. Great example of what it should look like: ruclips.net/video/WQU62anSUxA/видео.htmlm

Tuckie1000 Half your left wing was missing, but that's not all. Not sure about the right wing structure but the aileron and slat were missing, so the aerodynamics would have been messed up. Not to mention you have no way of controlling your roll rate without ailerons...
argh1989 this is old yes.. buut actually he does.. rudder pull will force the aircraft to roll as well, along with adjusting your y axis angle. along with fine adjustment to power for torque. to much, and the plane would have rolled to hard. to little, and it would roll hard left (the side with less lift)
