    I hope you enjoyed todays video checking out the brand new Friedman IR-D. This is a super cool all in one direct tube solution for guitar players. I think it's a really cool design. Let me know what you think.

    What do you think about the Friedman IR-D? I personally think the Friedman IR series is the best DI solution for guitarist who love the sound, feel, and ease of traditional tube amps. Let me know what you think!

      Love the tones you were getting from it! How is the feel? I’m seeing some complaint videos about it feeling stiff…How about you compare the Friedman IR series to the Tone X (Tone X One specifically since it has very low latency)? Cheers!

      sounds great ! if it sounds a bit congested with the les paul you can swap the stock jj tubes to old GE's.

    Great demo and playing as always! I have an IR-X and love it. But, I play mostly classic rock / blues. The IR-D seems to be more suited for what I do, especially in the edge of break up, mid-gain area. I’ve got an IR-D on the way!
    Will be running it with an Xotic BB and a Keeley D & M drive in front of it. Can’t wait to try it out!

    Hello friend here a new subscriber. It's hard for me to decide, so I'll have to buy both the IRX and also the IRD to record on my Apollo Twin... My question is are they different? It's worth having the 2 as tools for recording... Do the IRD and the IRX sound particularly different? irx ? I'd like to know if Both... Thank you brother

      Thanks for subscribing! I’m currently trying to decide if I’m going to keep both as well. They definitely do sound different. Right now I think I still prefer the IR-X especially because it has to completely different channels. The IR-D is supper tweakable though cause of the structure switch and can get great clean and dirty sounds but I think it’s sweet spot is mid gain. It’s a tough decision. I would definitely recommend buying both to see which you prefer 🤘

    I dont gig all the time, but when i do play with my band im hauling the speakers, mixer, along with my amp head or combo and a guitar or 2. Not to mention, im usually setting up mics and cables for the sound. I think this would definitely be nice for a compact rig, especially since i do not use too many effects for my style of playing.

    Great demo! The IR-D has some nice tones. I have the IR-X which is awesome. Can you get the same sounds out of both with some tweaking? Would it be overkill to have both?

      Thanks! Yeah the IR-D sounds great for sure! You can get close to the same tones but it seems to always do something a little different than the IR-X

    Great video. I have an IRX as a preamp in my fractal rig in 4CM! I’d like to hear your opinion because someone told that they are quite similar using different eq so there is no need to have both

    • @JordanSteele
      @JordanSteele  4 месяца назад +1

      Thanks for watching! I am planning on building a very similar with the FM3 but I think I will just use the fractal in the Friedmans loop. I would disagree I’ve made a video comparing and I could’ve certainly tweaked the fractal better but nothing emulates the feel of a real tube preamp. But also where I really notice the difference from just modeling to actually tube amp or preamp. Things like palm muting, pinch harmonics, and aggressive picking. There’s a certain sound that real tubes create when doing those and I think even the fractal doesn’t do it right. I hope this helps!

      Sorry I was talking about the difference between ir x and ir d 😅
      But my question was impossible to understand! 😅😅😅
      Yes I also prefer real preamp even if Fractal is really a good modeler…
      I like to use 4CM to be able to use compressor, wha and drive pedal in front of ir x and time effects after cab emulation…

      @JenaGuitar 😂oh gotcha. I will do a video comparing the sounds of each soon. So far I think they sound quite different but simultaneously similar if you want them too. If that statement makes any sense😂 there seems to be a glassy treble element to the IR-D that’s not is the IR-X and I also find there’s a lower mid bump as well in the IR-D. So they’re similar but definitely cannot get exact same tones with them
