Honestly I slept so much better after giving birth. You don't wake up MORE, but you get to actually sleep well when you are sleeping

I’m really loving your pregnancy content. Any thing you share is helping me when I have my first child! I’m about your age and hearing your worries and fears about the whole process but how you are handling it gives me positive reassurance. I also like that you are being real with what’s tough. I’m waiting to have my first baby in the next 1-2 years. my biggest fears that are keeping me from having them sooner is the big sense of responsibility and change of routine. I can relate with being type A and the fear of the unknown is really scary to me. It sounds like you have a really great attitude and perspective.

I have a 15 month old little girl. When I was pregnant I hated when people said “you think your tired now” like no it’s a different type. Yes, some nights with newborns are hard BUT I much rather be tired while holding my baby who just wants to sleep on me vs being so uncomfortable I couldn’t get any sleep.
My girl didn’t sleep through the night til she was 14 months so it was definitely rough at times but I honestly loved the late night cuddles and sometimes I already miss it haha. Being a mom I had so much anxiety about her breathing and just making sure she was okay. I would say that was the hardest for me but it is 100% so worth it. It’ll take time for you to get into a routine but it’ll happen and sometimes you’ll get into one and it’ll change so for first year it’s really just giving yourself grace and going with the flow bc they change so much that first year.

Something I did with my dog when I had my kiddos. I had a blanket from the hospital that we wrapped the baby in and sent it home before we came home with baby. They can smell and snuggle with it and will know your baby by scent and heartbeat as soon as you get home.

My son is almost six now, but speaking about mental health, when I was pregnant around month 5 or 6 I was convinced my husband was cheating on me. I was super paranoid about it. Thing is, I had no proof or reason to believe that. He was giving no signs, not being secretive, nothing. It was all in my head and I knew that which is the crazy part. I finally talked to him about it and he was just like....I'm not??? I asked my manager/friend at work if she ever had that when she was pregnant and she said "oh yeah, that's normal". After a month it went away, but it was such a crazy feeling.

Yes the paranoia! I’ve had days where I’ve felt like everyone was my enemy, completely unprompted. I’ve also had days where I’m just mad at my husband for no reason. It’s WILD

So I’m a nurse on a labor and delivery and postpartum floor… and we did have one woman earlier this year who was told she was having a baby boy… but when they did her c-section.. out popped a GIRL!!
What ended up happening was that it was a twin pregnancy in the beginning… and she unfortunately lost one of the twins early on in the pregnancy.. so they were speculating that perhaps all of the genetic testing and blood work that was done was picking up the gender of the twin she lost, that was probably a boy.
Crazy story!! But doesn’t happen very often at all lol.

Oh that is SO interesting!! That totally makes sense, and that must have been one heck of a surprise!

I actually know a few people who'd been told that they were expecting a certain gender, but then at the delivery turned out to be the opposite 😅 however, non of them had done a blood test, only the ultrasound. It's not very common to do that kind of blood test in Sweden ☺ So I didn't fully trust my midwife when she said that she thought it was a girl. Not until I held her in my arms haha 🙈
I wish you all the best of luck! You're gonna do great ❤

Cats are usually very good with babies but I'd wonder if the cat may think that play bed is now its domain. Might be a good idea to get a second play pillow.

Well, Evie isn’t territorial by nature and is going to lay on anything we buy lol! There no point in trying to keep her off of the baby’s stuff but we of course will monitor the kitties around the baby at all times. They don’t sleep in our room at night either, so no risk of them jumping in the bassinet.

dont know how true it is but have heard that the reason a new born look like the father have someting to do with bonding between father and child

Interesting!! My husband has some distinct features, more so than myself, so I’m just automatically assuming they’re going to look alike ha! But what’s funny is that when my husband and I were dating we had people think we were siblings all the time so baby is actually probably just going to resemble us both😂

My mother-in-law was told that her second child was a girl. 2 weeks before giving birth they found out it was actually a boy!
(So not technically giving birth but pretty close 😂)

This is too funny because my MIL thought my husband was a girl up until late pregnancy as well! I think she was in her third trimester when she found out they’d mistaken him for a girl on the first ultrasound. She’d had a girly themed shower and everything lol!

UV exposure is apparently a common treatment for eczema! I was surprised too but it worked like a charm!
