Very, VERY good, Arun! Thank You for sharing your knowledge with us! I needed to copy A LOT of cell comments into cells of another tab... and your VBA script worked excellently! You explain things very well and thanks for providing the code. Needs no modification.
I have no idea why it wont work for me. Have tried multiple different versions of the code from various sources and nothing. Really frustrating, no idea what I'm doing wrong
Using index and match I have managed to copy the cell contents but not the comments. So in the above example my formula would fill e2:e7 with the values in c2:c7. But I can't get it to show the comments as they are....can this be done using vba?
Thank you for this video. I worked great. But, I have another need. I need to copy these extracted comments. But, with this method, it only copies the formula, not the extracted comments. Could you help me?
You can do it, just copy the the extracted comments and paste special as values. Also the shortcut for this after copying is to hold down 'Alt' then press E, then S and then V (one by one while holding down Alt).
Greetings! I followed through with inserting the VB script into the module, however, when entering the =Command(A1) formula the resulting cell is blank. I've searched through formatting options to get the resulting comment to display, but can't seem to get it to display. Any help will be most appreciated!Bob...

Hello, this is great. Is there a way to do the same thing on pictures? Instead of comments, show the picture attached to the comments, please?
Worked like a charm!

It's about time Microsoft make this Comment() function included in Excel (without resorting to VBA)
Muchas Gracias.
Thank You!
Outstanding!
Thanking You!
Unfortunatelly the result is #NAME? Any ideas?
use a function from excel; extract, find, length. Example
=EXTRAE(AD15,ENCONTRAR(":",AD15)+1,LARGO(AD15))
AD15 is a text with ":"
I use excel spanish

Hello can you show me how to link comment cell to other cell ?
Thanks for sharing this tip. For multiline comments, how can we retain newlines?
Thank you so much for the help! I can now go have dinner at home rather than eating stale bagels at work!
