Check out this SUPER-cut montage containing clips from the Ghostbusters theatrical release, deleted or alternate scenes, AND the Preview Cut as seen on the Ultimate Collector's Edition! Hot off the presses from 1984!
Audio and dialogue has been tweaked and added where it might have been missing as well as an alternate theme song remix, and added special effects!
This is a representation of the montage as the original editing team may have envisioned it!

@@thomastoal2892Extended cuts of films this old actually aren’t all that common, especially when none of the original filmmakers have any involvement.
$ony have already managed to piss enough people off without taking it upon themselves to decide whether Ivan Reitman would have even wanted there to be extended versions of his films. Any good filmmaker who respects the craft knows less is usually more. If Reitman had wanted all this extra shit in there, he would have released it like that to begin with.

That whole seen with the ecto shooting out beams could've made its way into the actual movie 🤯
Totally agree!! Like a Firetruck’s mounted hose. If only they used that in the chase scene in the new movie.

The Ecto-1 being somewhat possessed in some way in this deleted scene is kind of interesting. Would have loved if they ever brought that up again in the live action movies or maybe the new animated Ghostbusters show that is coming on Netflix.
I remember Ivan reitman said they only had one usable shot of the ecto 1 going over the bridge

The part of Peter, Ray and Egon coming out of the hotel should've been Included and the theme song should've came in when Peter, Ray and Egon say "Ghostbusters!" in unison.
Hoping they will bring longer versions out on DVD and Blu Ray for Ghostbusters 1&2!!

I hope they come out with a 40th anniversary directors cut next year and a 35th anniversary cut to the 2md one
It’s kinda hard for there to be a director’s cut when the director is dead. People need to stop using “director’s cut” as a catch all term for any kind of extended version or alternate cut. The only way anything can be a “director’s cut” is if the director approves the cut. That’s literally what the term means.
From what I know of Ivan, the cut that was released is the cut he wanted to be out. His son Jason has also openly expressed his disdain for retroactively revisiting films after they have already been released.
