once upon a time my best buddy and I ran into Lightning Hopkins at the San Diego folk festival.. this song sounds like.. sorta.. the story he told us about his name.. some other feller's name and he just borrowed it.. ya never know.. pen knife.. and.. Lightning fast reflexes.. ;;☆》.. so.. might be a true story 🤔
Just saw Blind boy at the Burnaby blues and roots and i love this guy. So much fun and the crowd howled when he picked up the banjo. "What you guys don't have banjo up here". What a terrific talent. Need discs please Blind boy.
He’s a visually impaired blues musician who plays banjo, fiddle, guitar, piano and a handful of other instruments, all in the style of 1920s and 1930s blues. And he’s a black Jew... keeps kosher, wears a kippah and observes the Jewish sabbath.... he turns 27 years old in a few days!
+Andy Macdonald Yeah he is great, I have actually been slowly working out the TAB for Lemon's version and I must say it is a hard tough task to do so. Unless you practice playing and singing it the way Lemon did it hundreds of times over it would be a nightmare to do perfectly live because it appears that some bars are 5/4.. some 4/4 and some 6/4 or even other weirder ones even, so I am writing out the TAB as I work it out slow but still not sure where the bar lines actually are YET. Paxton here has the right idea though, he doesn't care to worry about it, he has a whole library of riffs and licks that will fit and I bet it's never the same way twice, he just feels it and improvises... and I bet you ten to the dollar that's what Jefferson did as those records are still-shots in time... brilliant stuff.... he was a genius and it's so great to see this young man carrying the torch.
Treasure right here!
Infeel as tho ive just travelled back in time 90 years.... absolutely stunning. This guys the real deal, why aint he famous?
Thanks Mr Paxton... great way to start the day

Whoa. I’m a pretty decent harp player, but that opening bit is going to keep me busy for quite a while.
old soul
OK....this is a time traveler from the 30s...it's like listening to the old records but no scratches.....
Reminds me of Robert....close...
great..
How in the hell is he even playing that harmonica, I can't do it the normal way
I want to learn how to play this song but all I'm finding is that obnoxious song by annoying. Anyone know the chords or tuning?
He's not blind...
+Patrick Smith He is visually impaired. But the point is that he is a fantastic musician.
