- Hand-held radios used by armed group Hezbollah detonated on Wednesday across Lebanon's south in the country's deadliest day since cross-border fighting erupted between the militants and Israel nearly a year ago, stoking tensions after similar explosions of the group's pagers the day before.
Lebanon's health ministry said 20 people were killed and more than 450 injured on Wednesday in Beirut's suburbs and the Bekaa Valley, while the death toll from Tuesday's explosions rose to 12, including two children, with nearly 3,000 injured.

@@kevinadamson5768 I refuse to believe that. They could have deported the people involved in the build up of the terrorist network. They could have arrested them or used their military. They chose not to. Even now they could easily work alongside Israel to wage a war on two fronts. But they won’t.

Even in warfare, Israel has shown tremendous caution in considering the safety of individuals in Lebanon. Every war has tragic consequences and people of all ages will die. It has been going on for years in every war that breaks out, just look a how many innocent children died in the death camps in WW2, thousands! It is always sad when little children die because they are innocent victims many of them have no clue to what is going on in the world, but it remains a fact people in a war zone will die regardless of age.

I use Lithium Ion batteries and have had one overheat and erupt in flames, but the process tends to be preceded by fumes being emitted before the battery 'explodes'. The quickest way to potentially explode a Liion battery is to pierce it which can create a chemical reaction. I can't see that the batteries alone could be used to such effect in these operations.
