my fire tv4k voice commands was not working so of course I went to youtube I came across your video I was leary when you said, reset factory defaults, instead oI decided to avoid having to download all of my apps again I went to settings- my fire tv- restart and that worked for me. Good luck!
I’m stuck there as well only thing I could do was unmount the TV from upstairs bring it downstairs to my wireless router hook up the ethernet cord use the Amazon fire remote app after I did that I didn’t even have to use the app. I just use the remote that wasn’t working, but after unplugging and bringing back upstairs not plugged into ethernet cord. It does not work. The remote
@@DaveDocDIY I did that fast blinking red light now and in order for it to work with Amazon fire app, you have to have the ethernet cord hooked up to the your TV. I reset my TV I have a generic remote I don’t have the original remote don’t have ethernet cord. My Wi-Fi is downstairs. My TV is upstairs I’m stuck.
Yrah theres a lot easier way dude go to settings go to equipment control then go to the bottom where it asks what tv u use then pick ur tv and it will run thru the options u wont lose any of ur apps
The quickest easiest way is to just Logout of you amazon profile and log back in 😉
This actually works? I have used 3 different remotes on particular stick and nothing is working. Every single fix.
This works!!!!
Thank you. This worked for me and I kept all my apps💯
Thank you. Deregistered and re registered. Apps and everything still in place. Even the paused place in my wife's TV show on YT TV.
Logging out of profile worked for me lost no apps thanks
Thank you!
Thank you. This worked
Absolutely!! And to update, my remote hasn’t had the issue again since I’ve made this video!

Yeah I don’t suggest the factory settings lightly. The reset just wouldn’t work for me. Tried it multiple times. Maybe they’ve done an update.
What if the home button is not working? I cannot even get to the home screen and therefore cannot follow your steps....

Now I restarted it and my home button won’t work and can’t use the tv without it I’m stuck at please press home button for remote
You gotta hold your home button for it to read. I also download the Firestick remote app on my phone as back up if the remote needs to be reconnected.
