It's not confirmed so maybe I've adopted a headcanon without realising it's a headcanon, but I always assumed the abomination track teacher used his abomination as a mobility aid, so I don't think he can just 'walk the talk' as you put it.
Maybe in some episode hunter will be walking through a hallway by a door with his palisman, then suddenly belos calls him from the door and he goes in, the palisman hides. Belos is "hungry" again and there's no palisman remaining and suddenly he notices the bird hiding and tells hunter to give it to him, so hunter just stares at belos then starts to run away.
I love how this show handles its characters. So many of them are presented in one straightforward way at first but are eventually revealed to be much more complex than we thought. Amity's an obvious example, Mattholomule gets some of it in his second major episode, and even after several episodes of just being the Emperor's loyal lackey we get to see Kikimora has more going on in her life and winds up in a genuine dilemma because of it(even though her desire for power and respect wins out thanks to Terra's promotion bluff). Now we see Darius in a situation outside just enforcing the Emperor's orders to capture Raine, and he actually seems decent. He first sees Hunter as just some kid who only does "exactly what (he's) told"- just another pawn for the Coven. Clearly he doesn't respect that at all, but once Hunter actually makes friends and goes against orders to save them- once he proves he can actually be an independent person- Darius admits he was wrong and implicitly promises to keep Flapjack's existence a secret, even saying he'll make his predecessors proud. He actually wants to watch out for Hunter now that he's proven he can break free of the rigid form ingrained in his behavior. That's how you _develop_ a character beyond just being another antagonist, and this show is SO good at it. Can't wait for more.

This episode is full of hints no matter what scene you watch. For starters, Flapjack suggesting the name Caleb for Hunter is definitely a dead giveaway and callback to Yesterday's Lie because when Jacob mentioned of two brothers ending up in the Demon Realm, he was obviously hinting Philip, before becoming Belos, and Caleb, the older brother. And you saw the hairstyles, right? Hunter had the same forelock as Caleb, and Belos's hair is just as long when he was Philip, albeit a different hair color. And second, Hermonculous just has a very askew perception on who he sees as an abomination in his eyes; his own creation, the staff, or even the student body, regardless of the tracks they're taking.
A theory going round is that Del Clawthorne a) was the previous Golden Guard and/or b) made the original suitcase portal. Also, Willow had tears in her eyes when Hunter sent her and her team away so he could face Darius alone.
idk if anyone else pointed this out, but the golden guard symbol is the Gravesfield town crest!! You could see it around town in Yesterday's Lie. I'm not sure what this means exactly since Phillips brother (maybe named Caleb???) was dead long before Belos's time. Maybe there were previous Grimwalkers to Hunter who mastered their artificial magic? idk, but the crest is definitely symbolic to the Wittebane's origins.

Hunters arc in this episode really hit home. As someone who grew up in an abusive household, seeing someone like you be represented in a show like this and have it done SO well already hurts but having him make friends just hit so hard. Its gutwrenching to see him casually mention the stuff he went through as if it was nothing, he even acts like its a good thing so he can delude himself into thinking his feelings of upset from those actions arent valid. He doesnt know how to talk to anyone his age, even when he does he expects repeat behaviours from everyone hes had in his life before like the coven heads, he doesnt expect genuine connections to be allowed to form if they dont have a transactional value to them. Seeing him realise that at the end was heartbreaking. Its really touching how hes gonna be able to grow more into himself and I might be projecting just cause Im aro but I really hope his relationships stay stricly platonic in his storyline, showing you can heal from abuse without romantic love is smth more people need to learn

Honestly, I'm a big fan of Lumity's development, but this episode was like the one time where I felt it wasn't needed. I get they needed them both to be away from all this to make the Hunter/Willow pairing work, but at that point I would've preferred they just sit out for most of the episode.

This episode was so good. The Lumity was great, Hunter was absolutely adorable as always. Darius actually seems like a cool dude now. Willow was amazing…just…such a great episode!!!
13:54 Actually, Gus has always been a great friend, especially to Willow. The fandom usually don't notice them, but they have an extremely strong and beautiful friendship. Gus always defends Willow and Willow always defends him too. In episode 17 of season 1, we can see him even taking Willow's hair ornament that was with Boscha and helping Willow when Boscha threw trash at her. In episode 5 (?) of season 2 we also see how devastated he was when he "hurt" her. anyway, in several other eps, we see their union. It's my favorite friendship
Yo I am so mad right now the wiki literally says Hunter is the main villain of Season 2 like seriously did they forget Belos exists and does Hunter even qualify as a villain? Heck I’d say Kikimora is more “main villain” than Hunter
Hunter is the main antagonist of s2 due to he is the main threat that they been facing and he is the Head of the Emperors Coven witch means he has control over Kikimora and over the other coven heads and he is the second in command and only obeys orders from Belos. Belos is still the main villian of the series but Hunter is the main antagonist of the season
@@KikzoTheDemonJackal Nope I can’t accept it Hunter is way more of an anti-hero and wdym he has control over Kikimora and the Coven Heads she’s tried to kill him so many times and the Coven Heads (except Darius and Raine) don’t even acknowledge him
@@domonicsantalucia9002 Hunter is Kikimora superior and in this episode Hunter said that everyone trys to betray each other and Hunter is in charge of the Emperors Coven witch Kikimora and the Coven heads are apart of so he has control over them. And as much as you might not like it Hunter is still the main antagonist of s2
I mean, I hate the abomination professor too, but do we know if he's able to walk on his own? I always thought he used the abomination in place of a wheelchair.
As funny as it would be for Boscha to be a secret Azura fan, I think it's more likely that she knows the words because Amity tried to cram the series down her throat back when they were "friends".
10:25 i love how you said "But she doesn't look like either of them" completely forgetting their both girls and wouldn't be able to have a biological kid anyways (they could still adopt tho so the child wouldn't have to look like either of em)
I wouldn't discount the idea that the original Golden Guard was Belos's brother based on that line -- after all, everyone thinks Belos is a witch, which we know for sure is incorrect. ;) My current loose theory is that Belos's brother died in some sort of wild magic incident (harkening back to Belos's line "Our family is gone because of wild magic"), which put a huge wrench in Belos's plans because he'd need him alive to see his Day of Unity plan go through. So Hunter is sort of an attempt to recreate/clone his brother via a Grimwalker body, but without his brother's original memories he's growing up into his own individual. And I like the summaries at the end! The thing about reaction channels for me is that watching your moment to moment reactions is fun, but if you don't have much more to add to it (discussion, commentary, theories, etc.) then you kinda just get lost in the crowd. So it makes your work more "transformative"
Hunter and Willow are the two kinds of witches that need each others company, no questions asked. their dynamic is so adorable, i hope it works out for hunter. imagine a kid having more game :'> first day on making a penstagram account he already has willow in his dms oh!! and i really like when you finalize your thoughts in the end cause sometimes we can onky proocess the information once the episode ends. Though it mostly depends if you want to add it on the video.
Darius has always been the way he was, he wasn't even mad that Raine was betraying them and moreso at the fact that they ruined his cloak. All in all he seems like a dude who is doing his job and is good enough at it to the point where he is the head witch of the abomination coven, his outward actions are based on this professional position, you gotta keep up appearances as a head witch so sadly that means he is ultimately an antagonist to our main characters. The fact that he returned to "work" on his day off is that he actually cares for Hunter, the whole ordeal was a test for Hunter as he could have easily transported everyone to the conformatorium like he did with Raine's crew, instead he took an airship and didn't even bind them, ultimately his goal was to return them to hexside anyways. The transport by airship was the test and to give hunter time to catch up to them to see if he would change his mind and actually make friends like a real teenager so ultimately he was proud that Hunter did. So much more of a father figure than Belos (Philip bitch)
I really like your recaps!! It's fun to see you talk about your thoughts because sometimes they are the same as mine and sometimes it's things that I haven't even considered before!
I loved this episode so much. Every episode just keeps getting better and better. I do like your little recaps at the end and hearing what you loved about the episode. Congratulations on the book. I definitely will have to check it out. I put it on my Amazon wishlist.
Hey Morgan the symbol Where Hunter has his Logo of the original Golden Guard is the same logo on the episode of “Yesterday lie” go watch the episode and there is a logo in where Vee and Luz are talking about why they left their home and in the mirror you will see the logo
I was reading the Owl House wiki page of the abomination professor. There's a particular info that makes me think that he isn't disabled at all. Here's what it said. "He seems to be an egotist, as he is almost always shown being carried by one of his (presumably) abominations, despite shown to be perfectly able to walk in "Any Sport in a Storm"." A couple of people in the comments said a similar thing. One said, "He can walk perfectly well in the episode "Any Sport in a Storm", I think he's just a narcissist." Another said, "He's a shorty, so he uses his abomination to lift him higher so he can still intimidate students. It's hard to intimidate someone when you're four feet shorter than them." If that's the case, then Morgan telling him to have the abomination put him down and walk on his own two legs isn't resorting to ableism.
The reason that the coven heads were dismissive of Hunter was that he was given his position due to nepotism, he can't use magic without a staff, his personality is the perfect coven scout (annoying teacher's pet), his magical techniques are probably an inferior version of Belos, and he genuinely believes everything Belos says (I think the heads have their doubts, but work is work). In other words, they see Hunter as a glorified home schooled stooge that lacks character growth, individuality, talent, and is an annoying goody two shoes. Which is why Darius was nice to him after he showed his character growth, he is no longer just a brainwashed kid, he is forming his own opinions, based off of his own experiences, thus becoming his own man.
Didn't you love the little flyer picture on Willows mirror was of her dad's when they were younger. That could be how they originally met. Also I think Boscha had feelings for Amity and is jealous of them. Also everyone no longer wants to hangout with a bully lime Boscha. Plus they are so in love they tune out all the hate Boscha sends them. I'm not sure about Darous. But it could mean the previous golden guard is making him want to help Hunter since they helped him so much when he was younger. Also if he dislikes Alador so much why flow him on social media. Unless they were friends or more and Odalia ruined that relationship. Also I love how Emira commented on her dad's post.
I love the post watch summary. Honestly it's my favorite part of reactions. Since you get to see ad deeper view of what the youtuber thinks about the episode. Otherwise it's like why not just go watch a highlight reel. (Imo) idk why other people watch.

It didn’t take away from anything, cut it out. Plot A overshadowed plot B & thats facts
@@ArkadiBolschek It's an interesting mystery. Just not one I think needed to be answered this late into the show.
(Sorry if there are mistakes in writing, I'm from Brazil, i'm still learning English and sometimes I still need the help of Google translator)
23:33 It looks like the derby raven from Tangled (the series) that hangs out with Flynn Rider's father the most.
Don't view it as a deadname, view it as a nickname XD
@@KikzoTheDemonJackal correction the Coven Heads are not apart of The Emperor’s Coven the Emperor is just the boss of them all
So, white ravens are real and they are super derp. Absolutely accurate.
WAIT?! Really? I thought those were just doves 🤣
@@Morgan_Reacts Nope, definitely white ravens. I don't think they are albino, either... but don't quote me. I just saw some pictures on tumblr.
After this episode hunter will blush anytime Willow touches him, he has the biggest crush!
I mean, I hate the abomination professor too, but do we know if he's able to walk on his own? I always thought he used the abomination in place of a wheelchair.
Fun fact: the mean teacher is voiced by JB Blanc, who also voices Vander from Arcane.
NOOOO! Now I’m gonna have to try to not be charmed by the abomination teacher thinking he’s Vander 😭
Nice to see Hunter make some friends 😊💛💚💛💚
As funny as it would be for Boscha to be a secret Azura fan, I think it's more likely that she knows the words because Amity tried to cram the series down her throat back when they were "friends".
When darius "hit" hunter hunter flinched why is no one talking about this?
I swear every episode it just gets better
"I don't like change!" That is so me.
Research us military training. There is a part called hell week. No joke.
Hunter and Willow are the two kinds of witches that need each others company, no questions asked. their dynamic is so adorable, i hope it works out for hunter. imagine a kid having more game :'> first day on making a penstagram account he already has willow in his dms
oh!! and i really like when you finalize your thoughts in the end cause sometimes we can onky proocess the information once the episode ends. Though it mostly depends if you want to add it on the video.
Hunter and Willow are made for each other
This ep is so good AaHHH and your reactions make me so happyyy
Let’s go hunter character development
I really like your recaps!! It's fun to see you talk about your thoughts because sometimes they are the same as mine and sometimes it's things that I haven't even considered before!
I loved this episode so much. Every episode just keeps getting better and better. I do like your little recaps at the end and hearing what you loved about the episode. Congratulations on the book. I definitely will have to check it out. I put it on my Amazon wishlist.
AHAHAHAHA Boscha is secretly an Azura fan confirmed and Skara is possibly no longer Boscha's friend.
15:55 I feel like Boscha and Skara would still retain a friendship, as both of them play on the same Grudgby team at the very least
Yes - recaps are awesome. Yes - rewatch additions are awesome.
assuming hunter is belos' brother's kid the previous golden guard could've been his brother's wife/partner perhaps?
Hey Morgan the symbol Where Hunter has his Logo of the original Golden Guard is the same logo on the episode of “Yesterday lie” go watch the episode and there is a logo in where Vee and Luz are talking about why they left their home and in the mirror you will see the logo
I was reading the Owl House wiki page of the abomination professor. There's a particular info that makes me think that he isn't disabled at all. Here's what it said.
"He seems to be an egotist, as he is almost always shown being carried by one of his (presumably) abominations, despite shown to be perfectly able to walk in "Any Sport in a Storm"."
A couple of people in the comments said a similar thing.
One said, "He can walk perfectly well in the episode "Any Sport in a Storm", I think he's just a narcissist."
Another said, "He's a shorty, so he uses his abomination to lift him higher so he can still intimidate students. It's hard to intimidate someone when you're four feet shorter than them."
If that's the case, then Morgan telling him to have the abomination put him down and walk on his own two legs isn't resorting to ableism.
So the first thing Hunter did when he got his scroll was DM Willow hmm
THE SHIP HAS SAILED!!!
I know that Boscha probably only thought she was being ignored did to being lonely, but they were legitimately ignoring and crowding her.
“Caleb” FLAPJACK REMEMBERS CALEB AND EVELYN.❤😢HunterxWillow.❤

First Hooty's Moving Hassle & then this. Same expression. "WHAAAT???!!!"
I think the socks Hunter has are more Cronenberg than cardinal.
Hunter finally got his chance.
11:58 i've literally had teachers irl who were salty for me changing classes T^T it's sadly realistic
Ayo where they at?? I just wanna talk 👀😡
i love your posters
amity and luz are so cute
I’m pretty sure Willow didn’t drop from the Abomination Track, just moved to the Plant Tracks by the principal
YESSSSSSS! I love your reactions!!!
I love all of the lumity moments 😇💖💖💖💖
Lumity is great, but it felt a tad unnecessary here.
Also I love how Emira commented on her dad's post.
hunter blushing was something i never knew i needed
I love the post watch summary. Honestly it's my favorite part of reactions. Since you get to see ad deeper view of what the youtuber thinks about the episode. Otherwise it's like why not just go watch a highlight reel. (Imo) idk why other people watch.
Great Video Morgan and I love your recaps definitely keep doing them to me they are worth it Can’t Wait to see your Amphibia reaction too the episodes were both so good 😊 You’re Going To Have Fun Watching 👱🏼♀️🐸⚔️🛡😉 Have a Wonderful Day and I loved this Owl House episode too love Luz and Amity creating the Azura book club as a big lover of books 📚 I can relate Lol 😂
