In one day, Hunter:
- Found out that he had been on the wrong side
- Learned that his entire life was a lie
- Had his uncle try to kill him
- Lost his faith in everything
- Learnt that he wasn't even a person
-learnt that he was never important and was just a tool to belos
Imagining thinking that your life is great, and then within minutes, your whole perception of reality crumbles before your eyes
there's prolly more if ya be distincting it that much😭
It's sad and it probably all happened within a hour😢
In a world of demons and monsters Luz never expected the most evil of them all to be a human just like her.
Sadly, that's part of growing up...
Phillip is NOTHING like her
@@HaydrogenBomb24 They didn't mean it like that. They meant that Philip is like her as in he is also a human.
@@TheGoodWitchDiya I know. I just wanted to say that
Who'da thunk
Quick, somebody give Hunter:
- A hug
- A warm blanket
- A tub of ice cream
- A pair of baggy sweatpants
- And a trip to a therapist
I think i need those too
Yes.
Asap
And send the adoption papers to Darius.
I can only give three of those
Luz at the beginning of the episode: "People should know who Belos really is!"
Luz at the end of the episode: (Devastated by the revelation of who Belos really is.)
This whole episode was dark asf, and that creepy Belos built like Siren Head following them around was kinda scary tbh. Give Hunter a break please. A very long one.
Edit after S3- :/ are you fr Dana
Ngl young me probably wouldn’t be able to sleep if I saw that thing. The hide behind scared me for a while
Belos: *Oh I'll give him a very long break alright*
Yes but I see why everyone was excited especially Dana, they really put a lot into this one
“Belos built like Siren Head” 😭😭😂😂
Boy needs some SERIOUS therapy!
I like how Raine was going to compromise their cover to save Luz only for Darius to stop them then immediately change his mind once he heard his own adopted son is in danger.
We need to express mail those adoption papers
@@dragonstouch1042 For real. Darius, go get your boy! He needs you!
This episode is like a punch you can see coming from a mile away. You know it's gonna happen, but that doesn't prepare you for how much it actually hurts.
that was what I've been tryna convey to my friends, like even if it was considerably predictable, the truth and the confirmation still slaps different🥶🥶🥶
Yeah I agree we've known and loved hunter sense we first saw him and that was like a year ago and we knew though most of that time this was going to happen but it still hurts so much
that is a very good way to put it.
It hurt alot 😭😭
Oh god, so much stuff to unpack...
Within Belos's mind, there were at least 16 masks. That means if we average the hundreds of years Belos has lived, we can assume that the Grimwalkers never lived past their 20s.
Belos was a witch hunter and named Hunter...Hunter. He named him after the purpose he wanted his brother to fufill.
You can see in the background paintings multiple images of Belos and his brother. His brother seemed to have fallen in love with a witch, which caused Philip to kill him with knife. It's possible the witch was a Clawthorne, given the repeated bird imagery associated with Philip's brother, and an ancestor of Eda, Lilith, and Dell.
I hope belos doesn't get a redemption arc, he doesn't deserve it, he's like fictional Hitler, HOW CAN U KILL TENS OF HUNTERS U MONSTER-
oh lord I didn't catch that last bit ._.
Dell also looks alot like Phillip, further supporting your theory
@@fefek1 this episode was devastating for all of as and hunter 😭😭😭😭😭😭 if belos kill his brother I don't think he has a problem in killing like 20 teenagers. But and that part was devastating. How could u to kill like 20 teenagers. Belos is such a monster wichout heart
and thinking about how flapjack could really be related to the actual brother, am thinking that brother might be named "Caleb" since its what Flapjack gave Hunter as an alias back when he was at the School
Which breaks my heart thinking about it
I NEED TO SHARE THE PAIN OF THIS EPISODE WITH SOMEONE AND IF THAT TURNS OUT TO BE MULTIPLE REACTION CHANNELS AND PEOPLE ONLINE THEN SO BE IT
honestly SAME🥶
Same I'm waiting on multiple reactions to be uploaded but mainly I want to see not so average fan girl's reaction

@@undead_gamer9977 She'll scream told you so so loudly

All I can think about after watching this because this is the most emotionally charged episode and the most tense episode. That’s the sign of one of the greatest Owl House episodes…
"No one wants to think they've wasted their life following the wrong person" it's way sadder and impactful after watching the whole episode, poor Hunter
Belos: Murders literal child versions of his brother
Also Belos: i'Ll sAvE hUmAnItY fRoM eViL
Hmm ... yeah, for a Puritan Era "Witch Hunter" "Saving humanity" likely all too often coincided with "Killing Humanity to root out Evil". Extremely self assured in their own inherent righteousness and goodness, and that of their holy mission, that any means is easily justifiable to their ends. Which is why executions of Witches were so ... overwhelming. If they died, they were a pure soul and would be sent to heaven. If they survived miraculously, well they proved themselves a witch that the Devil saved and would be killed anyway.
More like save evil from humanity 😒
@@chaosreactsyt that... Doesn't make sense
Boys will be boys
He is a total B word, Belos to be clear.
I'm gonna note because I haven't seen anyone else comment on it, the part where Belos destroys the palismen monster and grabs a palisman to show off ( 14:58 ), Hunter is terrified. I personally see it as Hunter seeing that happening to FlapJack if they were to be caught. He's terrified for his bird, not of the action he's seen done many times before.
this aged well😇
How ya doing, pall?
LITERALLY 6 OR 7 episodes LATER:
*POSSESSED Hunter kills Flapjack.*
That panic attack Hunter had was so realistic and it made me cry when I first saw it
"Can't reason with crazy."
This is a man who has spent the last 400 years with witches. He's seen them do good and evil, and yet he inherently believes witches to be evil because he grew up in an era where not only did people believe witches to be real, but also evil. And despite watching all this evidence, he's so deadset on going through with his plan, he won't listen to anything else.
This man can't be reasoned with. He must be destroyed.
I love that when he said that, he gaslit Luz and the audience. What a piece of garbage.
I couldn't agree more. There is absolutely NO redemption for this guy.
Might I add the fact that he killed his brother because he fell in love with a witch(as seen in the backround paintings)
@@thehollowowl9469 as evil and callous as he is you have to admit that Matthew Rhys is absolutely fantastic in the role of Belos
@@millerkarageanes1562 oh definetly
I love Belos as a villain and his voice just fits him so well

Luz crying was not something I expected in this episode… now I’m gonna cry…
we all know there was a lot to unpack in this episode, but can we agree on one thing, THE CREEPINESS/DESIGNS/STYLES and VIBE of this was on a whole different level ... just as when you thought nothing can surpass the past episodes, they kick it up a notch, damn!
#MostScariestand/orDisturbingEpisodeThusFar
Man I really have to accept the writters did put a lot of effort on it like Dana said.
Yeah. This episode leaned HARD into the "horror" aspect of the show.
While watching this ep at 2 AM in my room and the lights are off and the scene where The Collector showed up I WAS LIKE WAIT A MINUTE THIS TURNING TO BE HORROR KID SHOW WTF
...and now I'm traumatized 😶🌫️ I really felt bad for Hunter If I could just give him a hug and also Luz and the whole people on Boiling Isles that Belos manipulated
But the scene where I really felt it in my skin and the goosebumps was the monstrous kind of thing with all the palisman... that explain why and that was trying to warned them all along😭
Hunter is the most tragic character of the whole series.
yeah but tbh🥶i wouldnt put pass it on dana to make an episode that surpasses the tragedy hunter is experiencing, this show has always been toying with what we thought was the most and the best...
Agree.🥺👍
And that's why *I'm a simp*
HUNTER IS SUCH A GUD CHARACTER AAAAAAA A A A A A A A
I want him to bond with Vee. Both were created as tools by an amoral madman and both are struggling with self-worth issues.
True, but even Eda life was terrible.
Did anyone notice the picture behind luz and hunter while they where running away
You can see its belos brother hugging someone
He's hugging Philip. Just before that there's a painting of Belos going curse-crazy, then we see Bro hugging him to help bring him back.
@@ArkadiBolschek He was smiling too, like he was saying "I love you no matter what." Which makes it more fucked when Belos ends up killing him in the end, all because he presumably didn't want to be a witch hunter anymore. Belos is truly pathetic.
8:21 And, according to TV Tropes, along with Eda and King finding it adorable, Flapjack can be heard chirping happily in the background and likely saying "I love you too" 😆🤗.
Even though this was the most traumatizing for Hunter, you can’t say it wasn’t traumatizing for both Hunter and Luz. Soooo many things happened, Belos almost killed both of them, they both saw him try and kill those people in his memories, soooo much trauma holly shit
Literally only A FEW EPISODES before this he was so happy and proud to be wearing the cape after Darius stitched it back together
Now, he knows it means absolutely nothing and leaves it behind,,,,
*sobbing*
6:08 Spoilers ahead!
Darius looks sad in the painting because he knows that, from the old Golden Guard being his mentor, he basically got to learn what *happens* to each Golden Guard after Belos finds one useless, so he knows the process of Belos making more Golden Grimwalkers to replace each other
I hope that made sense-
In short, Darius is sad because his mentor, the previous Grimwalker and Golden Guard, was killed only to be replaced by a new Golden Guard
Hunter had a giant panic attack just like me! He’s so relatable, in a bad way, poor hunter
If you pause the episode and them zoom on the memories, it pretty much reveals what happend to Phillip's brother.
What I understand from that is that he fall in love with a witch and then the two brothers had a fight and belos kill him, but I already watch people who have theorys that it was a Clawthorn witch, because Eda's dad look like Phillip a little.
And that would explain why the portal was near the clawthorn house to begin with
1.) DID THEY USE THE REST OF THE TITAN BLOOD!!!!!
2.) The Collector was WAY different than I expected!
3.) DID THEY USE THE REST OF THE TITAN BLOOD!!!!!
IDKKKKKKKKK I DIDN'T EVEN THINK ABOUT THATTTT
😅well atleast eber is confirmed against belos' side, ryt? and also that sudden darius daddy figure reaction when he heard hooty mentioning hunter was in trouble ...but yeah😭thats about it
It's implied they did but not 100% confirmed since the use was off-screen.
They used.
They didn't actually show it on-screen, so there's still a chance there's a little bit left
I have to say that, this episode is the worst for Hunter and Luz, especially for Hunter, but the best for the fans, because we finally have answers, and all the emotions that give us, incredible ⭐
Best for the fans!?!?!?!??!?😡😡😡😡 I literally cry at this episode🥺🥺

fyi🤣i started the episode just appreciating the facial expressions/animations/ interaction between luz and hunter, bruhh😭 had no clue i was diving into something so freackin dark at the end
been 4 weeks and I'm still in shock
Something interesting about this episode
-The collector referred to them both as 'betrayed'
-Belos harbors resentment towards Hunter, most likely due to being betrayed by the original version of Hunter after being betrayed by him, likely being the one who killed the original Hunter
-this can be seen in the memory portrait of them playing, where the face of the original Hunter is scratched off, which we have seen before in Willow's Memories
-Original, and all versions of hunter likely turned against for one reason, empathy for the witches despite being a witch hunter, and likely don't want to hurt the witches anymore, and they kept getting killed for it
-Hunter has empathy, even if his whole life being brought up in the coven, and it is most likely that every iteration of him before contains the same compassion
-This also reinforces Belos hatred for witches, as most likely original Hunter turned against him, likely also a witch hunter, for the witches
Original Hunter fell in love with a witch as shown in a memory painting.
@@justafox0 really? Man I must have missed it.
@@aranhsm2819 Yeah, making out all the memory paintings is hard
@@justafox0 I assumed that is also one of the reasons why half a witch is an insult in the boiling isles, Philip is disgusted by the relationship between human and witch and shape it to be a negative term
I like how on the like, first 1 minute, there’s already ton of memes potential
“Ok you had your wholesome episode, now we gonna *destroy* you.”
What can you say after an episode like that? Like we all knew this was gonna happen, we predicted what was gonna happen and it did happen. Hell, I predicted I knew this was gonna go down and I’m still lost for words. I was in silence for 20 minutes just to process. This..this episode was fucking insane. Belos and been killing the past Golden Guards. Hunter is a Grimwalker, honestly I couldn’t even be happy that it finally confirmed cuz of that way it’s was delivered, I was crying. Hunter is shattered. All that he stands for..all that he lived for, for the memory of his ‘uncle’ who used him and wants to kill everyone in the boiling isles. Hunter feels so betrayed, he is traumatized for life. He’s never gonna be the same after this. Darius, where the hell are you?! Hug this child now! Omg this was hell to watch. Hunter totally needs therapy now. Props to Zeno, he deserves a reward for voice scared Hunter, especially for the panic attack.
This episode is really sad I feel so bad for hunter I don't want to wait for a week to see the next episode but on the bright side next time we see hunter we might get to see him in a casual outfit like a hoodie or smth
After watching the epsiode the first thing I thought was i can't wait to see your and Elijah's reaction to this as I'm certain that you will loose your mind over this even more than me lol. Looking forward to the video!
Same ^^
If Morgan threw her chair, I dread to see what Elijah's going to destroy.
If you look at all the memories in the background it tells the story of how Belos killed his own brother
I think Hunter is a stand in for his brother, a more "obedient" version of his brother that wouldn't oppose his plans
We've lost so much in the last few episodes: Hunter's entire self-image, Beefy Bob, Chair.
When he said that he was doing this for humanity I snapped. He did this for himself
He can do it for both
@@rwilson1197 yeah no thank you.
@@rwilson1197 No, he can't. This isn't a strict black & white Puritan society -- from whence Phillip Witterbane/Belos & his brother Caleb came from originally -- anymore. I mean, we've had witches (basically humans with inborn magical abilities) & muggles (non-magical humans in _Harry Potter_ lingo) together ever since the "monster craze" of the 1960's (Remember the sitcom _Bewitched_ in which gorgeous witch Samantha [Elizabeth Montgomery] marries mortal ad agency slogan designer Darrin Stevens [Dick York & later Dick Sargent]?) & has continued into the _Harry Potter_ boom of the '90s into the '00s (especially with Hermione Granger being a "mudblood" [a derogatory term used by purebred witch families like the Malfoys to refer to Hermione being a witch whose mom & dad are both muggles]). Phillip Witterbane/Belos basically went to the Boiling Isles to commit mass witch-kind genocide to further cement his own delusional mindset that what he was doing was for the better of humanity.
NO ONE and I mean NO ONE hurts our precious boy Hunter, Belos will pay for this....
Thinking hard at how Luz is less likely to be listened by the witches about Philip. Theres a chance that Hunter or The Golden Guard to be a more convincing qnd believable person.. especially when the coven heads would back him up on this one
Exepct her friends and her girlfriend
Not anymore. Darius (Abomination Coven Head), Eberwolf (Beast Keeping Coven Head), Raine (Bard Coven Head), and of course, our main heroes are all against Belos/Phillip Witterbane & his nutjob "Day of Unity".
6:50 Can we talk about Hunter calling Luz by her name instead of 'human'? This is such a cool detail and it tells a lot about character development. Also throughout the whole episode both of them make strong sibling vibes and I just love that
Also Hunter panicking not because of his only parental figure betrayal or him being just a clone but because he doesn't have a place to go is just sad. This boy is so traumatised, I hope he would find people who will be there for him
Zeno Robinson did such an amazing job this episode
This is my favorite episode of all of them due to the utter emotional devastation that set the line for how exactly brutal this show could be.
Go back when you have time and look through all the paintings in Belos' memory. Your chair is gonna wind up in little pieces when you see what happened.
8:25 Hunter's last happy moment
This episode is dark for the sole reason that Luz and Hunter are literally walking through the mind of a 🤬 SERIAL KILLER TYRANT.
The memories painting tell a lot about Belos and The unnamed Brother’s past.
The Child once innocent is twisted by the witch hunting ways…
He becomes a young man, trapped in a realm of witchcraft-that he hates
The deceiver is crafty but is ultimately betrayed
By a brother who he thought would follow everything he says
The Brother whom he kills to make his first Grimwalker slave
The man who became a tyrant
No one questioned his ways
No one not a soul
Except for Luz and those who fight by her side
They know how “Unity” is a lie within that twisted Hollow Mind
Beware Boiling Isles you’re running out of time
And alas, our poor Hunter…is now very traumatized!!!!
After watching this episode, I truly hope *Philip/Belos* gets betrayed by *the Collector* and subjected to a fate worse than death!
Poor Luz and Hunter. They’re both going to need years of therapy after experiencing the hellscape that it’s Belos’ mind.

So apparently Philip WitchesBane is the Boiling Isles more psychotic version of the Wizard of Oz. The most vile creature in a world full of demons, witches and monsters is a human.

I cant believe i even considered giving belos a chance its was because of the damn face reveal. The fact that he is an awful religious witch hunter just ahh i cant even right now.
22:17 That wasn't the Collector, it was just Belos, but he's so far from human that he can go into his own mind
Ahaha, this episode hurt me so much...
I LOVE that Luz said "I can't" because I think it cements that she probably would have put the pieces together by that point, or she may already have, but she just wanted so badly to believe that Philip couldn't be that bad. That the person she looked up to and even after she learned better, she still looked to his journal for answers because it was her best chance, was the very person who made her have to destroy her only way home and threatened everyone she's come to know and love.
The way that Morgan literally did what we all wanted to do. Break some shit out of anger and anguish XD
I love the fact that we end the episode with Hunter having a mental breakdown, and Luz giving a look of despair and concern. Then BAM! Cherry end credit music lol
One thing I loved was how Darius stopped Raine from trying to help Eda, but as soon as Hooty mentioned Hunter being in trouble as well he was immediately about to throw hands.
There are more to belos backstories if you look at the paintings in the background in his memories. I lover you videos ❤

i am still not completely over this episode. Like, these children need hugs and therapy
Really nice to see our team of surprise good guys working in the background. Also, now that Belos has revealed himself as a genocidal goon from the era of the Witch Trials, we can make preparations for his poetic end. (Looked it up, Salem, MA is less than 2 hours to Connecticut, so we know what influenced him.)
Also, it does appear Belos is basically a Luz who allowed fantasy to blind him to reality. Luz has learned over the show that her fantasy obsession is fine, but it can't be a replacement for making connections with real people. She ran from a summer camp chase a world of witches, only to find it's just as mandane as everywhere else. What's changed, though, is instead of forcing the world to fit her vision, she's focused on learning about what IS there. And that optimism draws so many people to be her friends/family/GF.
Belos went through life believing witches were evil and he must destroy them, but when he finally found a world of them, they were peaceful and kind. Instead of adapting like Luz, he drove wedges between them, and manipulated them to fit his vision, so he could destroy them and become (in his mind) the grand hero he feels he deserves to be. The original Hunter probably saw his madness and died trying to stop him, so Belos just keeps creating more, wanting to hear his brother finally admit he was right all along.
Poor Hunter, just imagine you find out your life is a lie. The one person you
loved and trusted wants to kill you like a pawn. And that this has happened to others before. Why is hunter the youngest guard? Maybe because Belos got tired of disobedient teenagers and wanted to make a kid who would grow up worshiping him. This is why Hunter might be one of the most tragic characters. His life, his whole existence is a lie, a pawn, and that’s all he has ever known.
Hunter is my favorite character now

Every episode of this season has been a bomb so far. Imagine what more a full third season could've have done. But we were robbed of that!
This is strongest reaction we've seen from you. Take it easy and you'll be all right.
You know those character development episodes were prepping us for trauma and I love Dana for that
Something I notice King mentioned the confirmation bais wich makes us stay on the idea that our idea or decision of trusting someone was right and we weren't wrong. I've been seeing that with the same cases of people trusting liers and fake conferecist defending them even when the truth is there, we just don't want to accept we've been following the wrong person/idea
After the episode with Luz's dad I was really hoping I wont to have to have another emotional breakdown but guess I was wrong. I am still emotionally torn from that episode. Like I am feeling so many feelings at once that I can't comprehended it. Like I knew the truth that Hunter was a Grim Walker but this is them saying it and the fact that he knows it now it just hurts. And now luz probably can't get back home to her mother and she's going to be so upset.I just want luz and hunter to be happy T^T

“This is going to be a dark episode isn’t it?”
In the words of Scar, you have no idea.
You remind me of a friend of mine. Lol. I love your reactions.
My heart breaks for Hunter, I don’t think anyone could understand what he just learned about himself and his “family”. The most terrifying thing that he knows to be true is that Belos will kill him because he saw for himself that he’s done it before. His “uncle” would kill him on sight and he doesn’t know where to go. As far as he believes, he thinks Belos is borderline omnipotent. No where is safe. He’s as good as dead. He can do nothing but panic and run. The idea of staying in one spot just waiting for his uncle to kill him isn’t one he takes time to consider.
Me: Now we watch the owl house episode Hollow Mind...Viewers beware you're in for a scare. Oh wait wrong show.
