one of my favorites, such an impressive show, SO MANY NOTES, and the ballad is absolutely beautiful shout out to the trumpets and their tone in that upper register its just 😫
This show will always have a special place in my heart. I got to see it mid season and the last time I saw crown was 06, which was an ok show, but not elite. I heard all the buzz about their brass in 07, and even 08, but never got to be there to feel it. I think the whole show I just couldn’t believe this was Crown, and I think I said it out loud a few times. “This can’t be crown!” I was in tears by the last chord, and probably yelling “This can’t be Crown!!” That was the moment for me that Crown became Elite in my mind, and they just keep getting better!
OMG!!!!! PUCK!!! This is one of the greatest shows in DCI history. Listen in high quality audio at high volume and tell me this wasn't unbelievable. 💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚
Tomorrow I am auditioning for my first Drum Corp. I’ve always had really intense audition anxiety and it’s something that hasn’t ever gone away. Aka I’m terrified for tomorrow lol However this show has always been an escape for me. There’s not shows that not only connects on an emotional level, but that also calms down my anxiety and reminds me why I want to do drum Corp. thank you Carolina Crown 2009!
@@foilcharacter3148 unfortunately not! But that’s ok! I ended up being really sick during the audition process but I was super thankful for the opportunity!
@@samcampbellsoupman Unfortunately I was unable to audition for a Drum Corps this year due to scheduling problems. Hopefully, you and I will both find the right fit for us next year. If you go to Crown, I hope to see you there.
2:08 gets me every time. So much buildup just for the drums to come in and it all fades out so well. Every time. Chills. Also, probably my favorite Lee Beddis book.
The title track in the beginning gets stuck in my head a lot. It’s my comfort music.

Love the opener! It was what inspired the closer for our HS marching show! So much power!!
What school did you march? And can I see it :)
@@xlea4497 our school used it in our show a few years back too. Check out "Plano East Sr High Steampunk Heart" and you'll find it
@@KylesBankAcc dang bro you got a huge school
@@xlea4497 haha yeah north texas and south texas both have huge marching bands and I live in north texas.
We played it for our ballad in 2019-2020
Halfway through this show...*Cadets have entered the chat*
Well, technically that can be said for the very beginning of the show too; Cadets played Promise of Living back in 1996!
SCV did it first!
6:12 😌

Should have won!
Every year crown should have won xD
If only…..
As much as I despise "1930" from a design perspective, nah.
Crown dominates from a brass and music perspective, but they lack a lot in other captions like drumline and sometimes GE, etc
1930 was undeniable bro
Is this an early season recording?
Matos. This is dallan
