It was 55 years ago today that Senator Robert Francis Kennedy announced his candidacy for the Democratic Presidential Nomination but fate would intervene in the Kitchen Pantry of the Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles California on June 5,1968. I'll never forget my mother watching the CBS Television re-broadcast of Senator Kennedy's shooting. My mom with tears in her eyes, her arms flailing in frustration screamed out ~ "Mataron a tu hermano y ya te mataron a ti!" "They killed your brother and now they've killed you!"
Mark Lane said because he had told Lane in an interview that he was going to find the murderer of his brother. There was a coup by the Intel State in November of 1963...they have been in charge since.
For one thing, RCA pioneered color TV technology and sales of color TV’s took off when Bonanza went on the air, which helped NBC and helped RCA. So other companies followed along with the TV networks
Here's how I think Bobby Kennedy's presidency would go: I think due to the economy hardships of the 70s would've made RFK's presidency not as glamorous as his brothers but we'd still look fondly on those days. JFK is remembered so greatly because he died before things got really really bad for the middle class. *Vietnam* : Nixon didn't really start getting us out of Vietnam until his second term and only after he moved the war into Cambodia. RFK would've either tried to replace American troops with UN/NATO troops (good luck with that) or simply negotiate a withdrawal from South Vietnam (a la the Trump/Biden-Taliban deal). While he'd be correct to end Vietnam, the GOP would blame RFK for the loss of Vietnam instead of just admitting South Vietnam's fall was inevitable (Vietnam was like Afghanistan. The people themselves weren't willing to fight so fuck em). But in the future, Americans, especially young Democrats, would regard the decision to end Vietnam in 1969 as the courageous thing. Future Democrats would praise RFK for cleaning up old man Johnson's mess. *Healthcare* : The 91st Congress would've given President Bobby a full Democrat trifecta: Dem White House, Dem House, Dem Senate. With a Congress on his side, who acted as a thorn to Nixon, President Bobby Kennedy would've probably pushed for a form of Universal Healthcare. Sadly, it wouldn't be on the level of Bernie Sanders' Medicare For All, but there was popular demand for healthcare reform in the 70s. *Civil Rights* : As Attorney General Bobby Kennedy was the one who persuaded President John F. Kennedy that civil rights for minorities was the correct course of action, not just for electoral purposes but as a moral issue. President Bobby would invoke the discrimination the Irish felt after they immigrated to America during the Great Potato Famine and pass civil rights and voting rights laws. *No War on Drugs* : I'm not saying we'd be able to smoke a joint, crash on the couch, stuff our faces with cookie dough and Cheetos and watching re-runs of The Clone Wars, but the War on Drugs was purely a Nixon-thing. administration admit that the war on Drugs was done to lock up blacks and young white hippies so they wouldn't be able to vote for Democrats. *Watergate* : Without Watergate, there would be less distrust in the government and media. While naturally there will always, and must be, a healthy skeptic of those in power, Watergate kinda did away with the previous notion that the President was Incorruptible. Though probably some scandal in the future would have the same effect as WG just later in time. The following events would've happened regardless of whether it was Nixon or RFK: *Environmental Protection Agency *The 26th Amendment, lowering the voting age to 18 (cuz Amendments don't require the Presidents signature) *Moon landing (Bobby would declare his brother's Moon vision realized). It's sad Bobby didn't get to live to see that happen.
@@yanibambang3047 RFKs best pick for VP would be Texas Governor John Connolly, both to balance the ticket between moderates and progressives (RFK) AND because John Connolly was in the limo with JFK during the Dallas assassination. And no. Ted Kennedy was damaged goods.
Joe Kennedy the Grandson of Robert is still out there and he's deep in politics...but one thing about that is...he's seems to cater to this current day far left communists parasite nutjobs who litterally destroy a country Everytime when they are in power...I mean he was a Sleepy Joe supporter automatically can no long be taken seriously...
"I do not run for the presidency merely to oppose any man, but to propose new policies" -- Robert Francis Kennedy, Mar. 16, 1968. Fast forward nearly 56 years to Rep. Dean Benson Phillips (D-MN) “I am running for the Democratic nomination … not in opposition to our current president, who has my appreciation and gratitude, rather with two core convictions .. : (1) I am a Democratic candidate who can win the 2024 general election. (2) And it’s time for the torch to be passed to a new generation of American leaders" (Oct. 2023). When I read the first sentence of Phillips's announcement, I immediately thought of RFK's own candidacy statement. I'm not running against anyone, both men say. They both continue: Instead, I'm running to promote new actions and to advance a new generation of leadership. The more times change, the more they stay the same.
Sirhan Sirhan killed him because he viewed RFK as a threat to Palestine. RFK was very popular with minorities for obvious reasons but Sirhan heard RFK announce if he was president he'd send Israel some jet fighters and increase aid to them. Sirhan, a native Palestinian, viewed RFK as both a threat to Palestinians and a hypocrite for standing up for minorities in America but empowering Israel, who has committed war crimes against Palestinian civilians. I'm not anti-Israel but yes they've done some fucked up shit. Sirhan killed RFK out of his love of Palestine. And Oswald shot Kennedy cuz of psychotic delusions of grandeur. No conspiracy. No plot. Just humans being shitty.
There was no certainty that RFK would have won the nomination. Remember that most states did not hold popular vote primaries back then. Most of them sent "uncommitted" delegates to the national conventions, and the overwhelming majority of those "uncommitted" delegates were members of the centrist Democratic establishment. Vice President Hubert Humphrey commanded much of their loyalty, and this is how Eugene McCarthy lost at the convention despite polls showing him beating Richard Nixon while Humphrey was running behind. The only factor that would have given Kennedy the nod over Humphrey was the legacy of his name, and perhaps his contention that he was the "anti-war candidate who could win in November". (McCarthy was dismissed by many as kind of a flake).
RFK had by March of 68, spoken with Daniel Ellsburg, who was advising him on vietnam policy, and of course informing RFK of the vast lies committed by the state dept, the Johnson cabinet and the military. So, he really knew what had to be done in Vietnam...but alas, as always, the great leaders are brought down in this so-called country.

They eliminated Bobby because they couldn't trust him enough to not look more into the unresolved questions and mysteries concerning circumstances behind his brother's assassination. If there were other actors, he would have empowered his AD to investigate, subpoena, arrest, and try those individuals for high treason.

I agree
He would have made JFK in heaven proud!

No doubt the same people who killed his brother took out Bobby
Karma owes us a solid.
What happened in five years that improved TV image quality so much? Invention of the transistor?
For one thing, RCA pioneered color TV technology and sales of color TV’s took off when Bonanza went on the air, which helped NBC and helped RCA. So other companies followed along with the TV networks
Also when Ampex developed videotape, networks could preserve programs better than kineoscopes which deteriorated over time
All the networks by the mid-sixties had colorized

Sirhan was convicted of the murder. He did it alone. And spare me the "he claims he's innocent". So did Oswald, Trump and OJ. Guilty people lie FYW.
