Music Bliss came about in June of 2009, residing in a humble shop lot catering to music lessons and sales of instruments. As humble as it was, Music Bliss quickly grew to expand its range of products at a point in time where boutique products such as guitar effects pedals were on the rise.

Guess what? When you buy one of these, you also have the Zakk Wylde overdrive as well. There's a switch inside. Which means you pretty much have a SD-1 pedal along with your GT-OD. It's true.

Take the back off, remove the circuit board and you will see a switch on the back side of the circuit board. This will switch the pedal to the Zakk Wylde OD (SD-1). This is how I am currently using mine. Works great after my Way Huge Green Rhino MKII to boost and cut.

Love this pedal, it's tighter than a ts9 more like a od9, but not quite as high a mid hump, and it has a touch more sustain!
But it's all personal preference!
I didnt even know mxr made this until yesterday and I built pedals and thought I knew every pedal from the main manufacturers lol. Then you guys posted this today so I thought "must be a new pedal" lol. I love my modded ts9 (asymmetrical clipping option, no diode option, stock mode and body mode that adds back some low end) but this sounds just fine. I actually really like the ibanez buffers so I'd still go for the ts9 but I have a modded carbon copy(I put two external pots on the bottom for the modulation pots to be accessed externally) and a modded m234 chorus (i true bypassed it. It wasnt easy at all since it's the SMD version but very worth while as now there is no tone loss in bypass and I added a vibrato/kill dry switch). Point being I like MXR pedals for sure but I think ibanez has one of the best buffers out there.

Excellent pedal demo, PLUS: That Les Paul is LUSCIOUS - strongly reminds me of Vivian Campbell's "72987537" Les Paul, and kudos for the top-wrap as well. 🙂
is there any difference with the GT OD which has "custom shop" print below the mxr logo?

Thanks for acknowledging the ongoing mystery as to if it's a screamer clone or not. It's been driving me crazy for years. People always say "it's NOT a screamer clone!", but then they never seem to finish the sentence and reveal what it IS based on do they? I hope someday we will get the answers! lol
I'm still not sure if it's meant to be a screamer or not, mxr say it's transparent, so how can it be a screamer. However it is to my ears very close sounding to the maxon od9. But either way it is an awesome overdrive, plus you can do the gt-od / wylde overdrive switch mod with very little skill needed.
To my ears, it has the guts of a Screamer but it cleans up like a Klon. People often hit the switch inside and turn it into the Wylde OD also, so I wouldn't be surprised if that is what people have primarily heard.
