    The endless sun of summer that fed the marigold is now in the fabric. 💗

    I guess a bit of a regular training and giving some treats you ll get those pigs to do what you want them to do they are great at preparing the soil for planting, in order to obtain a darker dye may be use a darker flowers thanks for sharing.

    aw you guys have had such an adventure! I love seeing how you are managing the piggies, looks like they have done a good job with turning over the earth in that area where you've had them.

    Very satisfying, always interesting to have a window into peoples journeys and daily lives. Good luck with the spelt, I will watch with interest for the outcomes. Love your pigs, takes me back to my own experiences in the 80’s. As always your aesthetic eye is a treat. Regards from Australia.

    For marigold dyeing you need a lot of marigolds. 100 grams of dried marigolds for 100 grams of fabric even more if you use fresh. I love your podcast.

      I did measure it correctly, but skimped on the alum a bit because we have no water treatment facilities in the area where I could dispose it. It would probably come out better on wool, so I'll give that a try next year!

    Hello; I'm a bit confused with your location: Tarragona/Mountains of Portugal?

    • @oakolive
      @oakolive  2 года назад +2

      Hi, in 2017 we cycled to Tarragona and spent some time helping out on off grid properties in Catalunya. That inspired us to buy our own land one day and try to build a life for ourselves in the countryside. So we spent the following four years saving up enough money to buy land and move onto it. Now we live in central Portugal. Sorry for the confusion 🙂

    I would love to move away have a more simple life relaxed etc. Question for example how much money would a person need to have to do this ? Say the property is bought and owned how do you live money for food and everything else ?

    The reason i did not subscribe is because, you music is far to loud, so i have to turn the volume down, then when you start talking i have to turn the volume up

      Hey Lee, sorry to hear that. We'll try to work on that. Out of curiosity, what do you listen with? We edit with and without earphones and most of the time, the volume is equal-ish (it's quite tricky!)
