I used to find it unnerving as a kid how contestants were pulled back into the wall filled with people I couldn't see. It was the one thing about the show that stuck with me all these years XD
When this show was on when I was little, I was scared shitless when the siren would come on when someone was going "Off the Air". I'm now 36, and that sound isn't as frightening. I guess it was something I found scary as a kid due to my autism.
In Venezuela circa 1989 up until circa 1992, there was a remake of this show called "Sigue La Pista" (Follow the clue). There were some clips of it here on youtube but they were removed in '11, but you can find a promo for it here on youtube by typing Venevision concursos 1990.
Continuing my comment... In Brasil circa 1989 on the weekly sunday variety show Domingao do Faustao, there was a segment entitled Controle Remoto which was a remake of this show. In Puerto Rico on the WAPA TV Network, there was a short lived remake of this as well which was cancelled due to an MTV copyright lawsuit threat.
Lee was correct when answering "John Wayne" to the question about whose footprints Lucy stole from Grauman's Chinese theater. Ken gave the answer as Clark Gable, but that's not correct. John Wayne even appeared in that episode. You can confirm it at IMDB. It's the "I Love Lucy" episode entitled "Lucy visits Graumans" first broadcast in 1955. Odd that the show would have the incorrect answer. Lee got screwed as the game ended in a tie, but his correct answer on this question should have made him the winner.
NOTE FROM TODD THE GUY WHO ACTUALLY WON: WOW....I never thought about that until you just brought it up. Google search shows that John Wayne indeed appears to be the correct answer and Lee got screwed on that question. That said, its not necessarily true to say Lee would have won the game had he been given credit for that answer. That was early in the game, and the dynamics could have changed. Kind of like early in a baseball game if someone gets called out at home plate when replay shows they were clearly safe. Eight innings later the Team goes on to lose by one run. Yes, the guy got screwed but one can't conclusively say his team would have won but for the bad call in the 2nd inning. Almost any game or contest is fluid as the game goes on. Players may change strategy, pay closer attention, etc. to the light that goes on. For what its worth, after the Game was over and we were back stage, Lee seemed bitter and was kind of a jerk. But he never mentioned the John Wayne question.
@@toddmccrumb You're right and your analogy is a good one. The dynamics do change so you never know. If Lee turned out to be a jerk I'm glad he lost. Did you make it thru law school?
@@jvcomedy, Hey Jeff, yeah, Lee was all chatty and fun before the show. Pretty cocky, but I suppose I was too at that age. We all thought it was pretty amazing to be on NATIONAL TV! (and remember, there was no "internet" in those days, being on TV was a HUGE deal). Anyway, Lee's demeanor changed dramatically after the show. He was kind of jerk. Wouldn't even talk to me afterward. I did end up getting through Law School and passed the bar, but never was much of a lawyer. Average at best. Made a decent income, but never made the Huge Bucks one thinks they are gonna make when they dream about being a lawyer. I ended up getting out of the legal field around 10 years ago and am much much happier. Take it easy, and again, nice job in catching the error about Lucy. :-)
@@toddmccrumb Glad to hear things are going so well. If you hadn't gone thru law school you would have always wondered how that would have turned out so at least you know and things always seem to work out for the better. Take care!
Good try. I would've missed Lou Gramm too. But, you earned good prizes. Thanks for uploading this show. I watched it back in the day when MTV meant something.
Todd 100th 👍🏽 congratulations
girl i got you

me too. I thought they actually died lol
andrew fiori
yeah XD
never see that coming
Wow Cliff totally does look like the kid from Gentle Ben!
That would Ron Howard’s brother. Clint. He sure does. Last time I saw him on anything was when he played the Smog Strangler on Seinfeld.
I was unaware that Ken had passed away in 2009! So sad to just learn! Really enjoyed this show in the day!
Did Kari just throw shade at LA Gear? 23:17

Game grumps brought me here

That’s what I remembered. That was when Ricky kept calling him Count instead of Duke😅
I was way in love withy Kari but that was when i was 16 years old when this show was on!
loooks like actual teletoon logo
this show just reminds me how much MTV sucks now

Yeah that was a tough round. They really made it hard to have them earn that car though.
Shouldn't Todd be a potential Supreme Court justice by now?
That's vbery cool that you were on the Adhesives show. BTW, getting 7 in the bonus is a good feat.
huh
Michigan State vs. Boston U vs. UCLA
If there was a reboot of this show, I believe Nostalgia Critic should host it.
