This is and will forever be my favourite Derren Brown live show. It is honestly the most conclusive show I’ve probably ever seen, everything comes full circle and it’s just incredible. I just can’t imagine a better written show than this. Mcfly and enigma both mentioned at the very beginning sitting there and then the ending with them. It’s brilliant.

I've laughed out loud, , cried bittersweet tears, was awesomely amazed and amused and giggled like a schoolgirl.'Like a good night out on a fridaynight with friends and random people while I was sitting in my livingroom on a saturdaymornibg (without having had the good night out the night before ;) During the show I thought: "What hard work went into this" and as a cherry on the pie there was Derren's Mother, Christine, who said the same thing I've been thinking. This is how Derren pulls off the grand finale: at 0:22 he subliminally says "Mc Fly" when instructing the audience in their choice of favourite things. Derren also likes to make a mistake at the beginning of many of his performances, perhaps to garner sympathy from the audience and prevent them from becoming too suspicious before their defences are down.
***** Subliminal messages have nothing to do with it. They never do in magic tricks because it's not reliable. They just had an entire box filled with suggestions that say McFly on them.

That was truly the most entertaining one hour fifteen minutes i have spent in a long time, Derren is truly a gifted individual, i just wish that at one time i may actually meet the guy...
Figured out the last trick... first the men chose a number and chose a letter to stand in front of. How they got in those positions is window dressing and the combo does not matter. Now each man has a letter/number combination. Derren reads out loud each number in the order of the letters. A1, B3, *C2*, D6, E4, and F5. Then the woman chooses C. From what Derren read out we know 2 goes with C. So does his pal backstage. Derren also knows the backs of the lollypops, A=E, B=N, C=I, etc. So C is Icecream. Backstage pal puts together the card pack with Egg/1, Needle/3, Icecream/2 etc. And of course the C/2 card for the front of the stage. Once the guy goes to the *back* of the stage to collect the card pack place dthere by the back stage pal, the trick is almost done, Derren just needs ot force the card on the woman that is the ice cream. A card force for Derren is easy peasy. More window dressing, then ... Shazam... impossible trick done!
amazing performance, when i first watch it i though there were stooges but after seeing it the second time i realized there weren't ,a lot of work went into this

Even if he can't really read minds or whatever, he never says that he can. He never lies about what he does, it's all showmanship and being careful and skillful with what he does on stage. Bullshit! . In reality, there is a very good chance that NONE of the audience wrote "McFly". But not to worry, as one of Derren's assistants has already been busy writing 60 slips which all say "McFLY, COOKIES, CIDER", and secreting them in the concealed side of the "magic change hamper". The "magic change hamper" is a bespoke device, but is just an elaborate version of a "magic change bag", a device which has a double pocket lining and a mechanism which switches between one pocket and the other. The audience all place their paper slips in one pocket of the lining whilst the basket is on the front of the stage. Once they have all finished, one of Derren's assistants picks up the basket and carries it to the table 0:43. As they are carrying the basket they operate the mechanism, the audience's slips are now in the concealed pocket and the 'rigged' slips are in the open pocket. From this point onwards, McFLY are set to be the group revealed at the end of the "Enigma" trick, COOKIES is set for the word association trick, and CIDER is set for the dictionary trick.

The two gents sitting in front of the curtains aren’t “guarding” anything. They’re just sitting there enjoying the show. A lovely young assistant crawls under the back curtain, places the ball in the glass, rings the bell and crawls back under the back curtain. The magician then opens the front curtain, and everyone claps for some strange reason! It’s the simplest trick in the book; on the level of “got your nose” by placing your thumb between 2 fingers.
At 17:02, Derren's production team in the wings are listening to this woman, and once she says the name of her late grandmother, they start to quickly name it on the coin. Derren uses the story about his grandfather to give the production team time to engrave the coin, and of course what you don't see here is that it did take the woman a while to get from the balcony seating to the stage, edited out of course for this TV version. Then with sleight of hand, misdirection, the coin covered in string was placed in the box.
i love how subtle it was that the first thing he did was McFly and so was the last i mean thats the best trick and it was barely picked on that he got that band to do it according to a random note on a piece that just happened to be the first one that guy picked up out of the box, wow

The vinegar was in the cap only, and when he unscrewed the cap, there would have been a normal drink in the bottle, notice when he asks her to smell it, she doesn't seem to react because there was no unpleasant smell.
You can hear him say "you most like macfly to" at 23s. It's subconscious cues like that and the way the chalk came over the medium tent like confetti that implant the ideas. Now, trying to find the other suggestions is the Easter egg of it.
no, if you remember one of the girls that came up who tested the vinegar to make sure it was vinegar and Derren gave her 1 mint. the hypnotized girl on the other hand drank half a glass of vinegar, thus Derren offered her two, that was the comic side of it. pay attention next time.
Just to let you know at 38:24 the woman is not drinking vinegar. This is a simple misdirection trick by Derren. He ensures the other audience members does taste vinegar, but the full glass he gives to the other woman is in fact diet coke, which has been left out for a few hours so it can become flat and not bubbly.
remember, is not about individual choices but group choices, diferent thing, perhaps it will be the same for you even if you where there, but the mayority of the crowd chose confetti, that's the goal at the end, he never said "EVERYBODY chose confetti" only the mayority of the crowd (PS: sorry for my english, no my native language)
You're saying that its IMpossible for 6 stagehands behind the curtain to paste correctly numbered stickers on corresponding picture/letter cards AFTER men picked their spot & then put those cards in envelopes within 60sec (1:04:30 - 1:05:30), then when she settled on man #2C Icecream (1:05:38) place his card on top (as instructed by Derren for his later "shuffle") w/rubberband & sneak the stack back into suitcase thats against the curtain in the dark in 18sec (1:05:56). You are more of a puzzle.

The magician then opens the front curtain, and everyone claps for some strange reason! It’s the simplest trick in the book; on the level of “got your nose” by placing your thumb between 2 fingers.
At 17:02, Derren's production team in the wings are listening to this woman, and once she says the name of her late grandmother, they start to quickly name it on the coin. Derren uses the story about his grandfather to give the production team time to engrave the coin, and of course what you don't see here is that it did take the woman a while to get from the balcony seating to the stage, edited out of course for this TV version. Then with sleight of hand, misdirection, the coin covered in string was placed in the box.
Dunno what you’re watching, but the box was on stage with him the whole time before he even threw the frisbee out.

i love how subtle it was that the first thing he did was McFly and so was the last i mean thats the best trick and it was barely picked on that he got that band to do it according to a random note on a piece that just happened to be the first one that guy picked up out of the box, wow

The vinegar was in the cap only, and when he unscrewed the cap, there would have been a normal drink in the bottle, notice when he asks her to smell it, she doesn't seem to react because there was no unpleasant smell.

You can hear him say "you most like macfly to" at 23s. It's subconscious cues like that and the way the chalk came over the medium tent like confetti that implant the ideas. Now, trying to find the other suggestions is the Easter egg of it.
no, if you remember one of the girls that came up who tested the vinegar to make sure it was vinegar and Derren gave her 1 mint. the hypnotized girl on the other hand drank half a glass of vinegar, thus Derren offered her two, that was the comic side of it. pay attention next time.
Just to let you know at 38:24 the woman is not drinking vinegar. This is a simple misdirection trick by Derren. He ensures the other audience members does taste vinegar, but the full glass he gives to the other woman is in fact diet coke, which has been left out for a few hours so it can become flat and not bubbly.

You're saying that its IMpossible for 6 stagehands behind the curtain to paste correctly numbered stickers on corresponding picture/letter cards AFTER men picked their spot & then put those cards in envelopes within 60sec (1:04:30 - 1:05:30), then when she settled on man #2C Icecream (1:05:38) place his card on top (as instructed by Derren for his later "shuffle") w/rubberband & sneak the stack back into suitcase thats against the curtain in the dark in 18sec (1:05:56).
