Started mine - builds beautifully. Now the big decision - wings out or folded? (Or one of each). There is an anecdote, about how, when a squadron was undergoing a review by the Admiral (who was not easy to please), they rigged the wings so that only one would fold, and when taxying past said Admiral gave a salute through a single wing fold! He was amused, and, out of character, had no negative comments in his review.
Awesome video! Nigel the outlaw black you said it was more grey than black that would be better on armor road wheels and tires than using black ? Hope you feel better soon 👍🏻🍻
Aircraft would be armed with their wings folded. Space on a carrier is at a premium so wings are only unfolded immediately before being launched and folded again immediately on recovery to the ship.
Airfix doesn't give us sea mines in the kit (I'm not even sure the sea mine of that time will fit Gannets weapons bay). It gives us anti-submarine torpedoes (not sure the name and version, applicable to Mk. 4), depth charges (for Mk. 1) and active/passive sonar buys.
Anyone using tamiya i used a 50/50 mix of xf21 sky and xf76 grey green and then added xf57 buff to taste. Then let it down with xf2 white. Got a pretty good match.

Decision made - Grandson says that the folded winds look cool!
