Hi! It's been a while since my last upload, which I apologize. I've been working on this video for the last few months and editing it till last minute. The time for "research" has left me completely burned out (yet again!). I watched countless and countless of clips, but the feeling I felt (what a way with words) once it was over was soo gratifing. Thank you all for staying by these pasts few months and thank you for the ppl looking forward to it that commented "when is part 2 coming on??" lol! That gave the boost I needed to finish it up when I gave up on this. Which, was lots of times.. And I was in a constant loop with the video, where I would edit a bit and felt extremely tired mentally BUT I couldn't leave it out in a draft or something like that. I also couldn't bear to edit another thing because I felt I was "cheating" in a way. But enough of feeling pity for myself! It's the start of 2023 and I now hope to move forward with the channel and be *more* consistent with the uploads, hopefully. Love you! 💜💚
For us leaving is not an option. Great content channel can never be replaced. Thanks for all your hard work. We perfectly understand. Happy New Year to you. 🥂🤩
@@xww6849 pretty sure she was extremely sick that day and they couldn't get her replacement ready in time so she was forced to take the ending lower. Iirc Laura Bell Bundy was on as the replacement for Glinda that day too.
I honestly can't imagine what it's like getting to play Elphaba. Like just getting to lift up to the air and belting your face off while looking into the audience being in awe, it must be amazing 👏 💚
OMG... I'm without words... you're an artist! I can only imagine how much work did you have with it... THANK YOU!!! And I'm so excited, for Wicked is retrurning to Brazil this march!!!! We'll have Myra Ruyz again, and new Elphabas too!
@@jorgeescudero5034 Honestly, when I hear anyone other than Julia Murney or Stephanie J. Block sing that note, I don’t hear an old wicked witch. In fact, Elphaba is not even wicked or a witch yet. She’s still just a college student. The way Jessica Vosk sang that note is so good! I don’t know if I like the riff version or straight tone.
A few thoughts: 1. Kristy Bates lol 2. I wish you included Ana Gasreyer in the battle cry section 3. I regularly question how the MD let Alice Fearn got away with her riffing 4. I appreciate that you closed it out with Vosk’s ridiculous riff at the end lol Great job! I love these videos
Alice Fearn's riff is phenomenal! She was my first Elphie. It was just unbelievable when listening to her live! (Recently I watched her new musical in London in very close proximity. Her voice was as awesome as ever.) Compared to Jessica Vosk's last battle cry, Alice's riff is not too far off the book lol Amazing voices. All have different characters.
@@leilaniking4856I think she just has a VERY different version of Elphaba than most people are used to. Her voice isn’t everyone’s thing, but she’s a very good singer who knows what she’s doing
@@giulietta3210 Oh! She changes up here and there in every language. Probably bc she was younger in dutch she was more "safe" with the riffs although there's a few ones. With german she had more confidence playing the role and that gave her advantage. And in english she was fire. She was already a seasoned Elphaba. There's lots of riffs for different songs
@ryebread.98 most reasonable theater fans acknowledge that idina is pretty mid, but not bad either. The only people who think idina is amazing are people that have never seen other Elphabas
on her BEST days i feel like she can be the top ones cuz her tone and the way she give it all when it comes to acting is just unmatched however also because of the way she sings its just unstable and pitchy alot of the times especially defying gravity she cant quite got it right until the last two weeks of the broadway run and the second half of the west end run💀

Moral of the story: You can do whatever you want with Defying Gravity as long as you end in a C#5
Thinking about the performance where idina ended the song on an Ab4 and they sent her home for act 2

One of my favorite Wicked riffs

I was debating including more of her in everything
@@MisterGolightly you wouldnt see me complaining if u did 😮💨😮💨

12:12 She is the second elphaba from Mexico. In Mexico there were 2 shows a day, one was Danna Paola and the other was Ana Cecilia.
1:44 i love kerry's timing on "flyyyANG" it's so subtle but so cool
9:01 The vibrato on the MEE omg
I have total respect for all these ladies. Going out night after night and doing this is not easy.

0:48 That note was SO clean! I love Jessica! Also at 1:53 is that video still on RUclips? I really miss it
That's the coolest F!! It's the one where she drops the hat
Yup, was clean AF, beautiful, but it sounded more like a good girl/Disney princess and not like a witch defying physics.
The Shoshana video is back up again, it's marked as her first performance.

i have found that i enjoy it when theres a run down on "fying." it just makes the transition from "de" to "gravity" feel smoother, more coherent
kennedy caughall has the most insane range
No tea no shade, but why are you switching between writings sharps and flats? It's either in Db, with 5 flats or C# with 6 sharps.
Most vocal range videos or showcases on RUclips are done this way, always C, C#, D, Eb, E, F, F#, G, G#, A, Bb. B
@@ryebread.98 That doesn't make it right though... This song is in Db so it doesn't have F# it has a Gb. Why not just write a Gb.
