Hi John. Great info. I know the Tech will recommend an oil change at the 5K if the degradation of the oil requires it. On the new engines and transmissions, it is no longer the norm. I remember having to do an oil change every 3K on my first car 1968 VW Bug. It was awesome! But we've come a long way. 👍

I had my oil and filter changed at 1k miles and next will be at 5k and every 5k thereafter.

all differs from the services here, in Europe. The first service was made at 15Tkm, then the second at 30Tkm, and now I did the 3rd service at 45Tkm...And guess what 🙈after the failure of the servo motor for the climate control in February, the dude in Lexus told me I have no warranties...🎪🙊

Definitely very different processes. Make sure you are always following the schedule in your Warranty and Services Manual. That is exactly what we work off of here. I hope they were able to help with your vehicle. 🤞

@@NorthsideLexus After two weeks of fighting...they couldn't answer a simple question: if all services are done, according to their rules, do I have a warranty...unspeakable 🙊 Lexus should've never been sold in Spain. The Japanese will commit harakiri if they know how we are treated as customers

I just got a 2023 rx 350. I likely only drive 5k miles a year. So should I get my first maintenance in 6mo, as opposed to 12 months when I would hit the full 5k?

    • @NorthsideLexus

Hi! That's correct. For most models, Lexus recommend every 5K or every 6 months, which ever comes first for the best maintenance schedule for your vehicle. There are some high performance models that need to come in more often, but the RX 350 is every 5K or every 6 months, which ever comes first 👍

Hey let’s turbo charge everything, increase compression ratios, and not change the oil. 😂
Think about how much $$$ they save not changing oil at 5k miles, only 10k. Or how much additional revenue from folks that do want to change the oil at 5k miles. Show me the incentive, I’ll show you the outcome.
I went cross the street for the first time ever to get the oil changed and I’ve purchased and leased six vehicles from Northside.

Thanks for watching. I'm not sure when the change from 3K, to 5K and then 10K happened, but it was all about using full synthetic oil and Lexus has had the 5K or 6 months service schedule practice for more than 15 years now, and turbos are even newer for us. The industry is ever evolving that is for sure. Hopefully you've enjoyed your vehicles and will get to visit our new location, if you haven't seen it yet. It is a beautiful space for sure!

IS 500 FSP Lexus oil changes are every 5K miles... 😊

Ahh the IS 500 FSP! Totally different ball game there for sure. On a performance vehicle it is always best to check the service manual to make sure you are following the Lexus recommendations. They definitely require more frequent oil changes and other services that non-performance vehicle don't need. Thanks so much and congratulations on your IS 500 FSP! ❤‍🔥

Thank you ma'am. I bought my 2022 Infrared w/White Interior IS 500 F Sport Performance from Northside in Mar 2022...one of the last sold in the US that year, and is 1 of 22 total of that exterior/interior sold that year. Very rare. Love it! ❤️
