I purchased this vehicle 2 weeks ago. After driving my 2011 RX 350 I have found the learning curve steep and have been reading websites and watching many video tutorials. Your tutorial stands “above the crowd” with clear, concise, informative and demonstrative instruction. Kudos!
Thank you so much for your vey kind comments! I'm so glad the video has been helpful for you. You may have this already, but in case you need Part 2, where I go over the new multimedia system here's the link: ruclips.net/video/mpSOpZVFep4/видео.html and this is a very short little Tech Tip video about the most common things I find people needing help with: ruclips.net/video/-nIaDAoIjx0/видео.html I hope you will continue to enjoy your new RX. Thank you again for your message!
Thank you for your wonderful presentation, very helpful and informative.
I just bought my rx 350 h and have not been able to activate the dash camera
don’t know the said and password, these details are not visible to me
This should be mandatory viewing for 2023/2024 RX350 owners 😊 This tutorial is excellent…. definitely my go-to to review any features I want/need to know about. I love the index that allows me to access directly the portion of the video related to the specific feature I’m interested in. Kudos 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Wow, thanks so much for all of your support and kind words! I'm very glad I was able to help you learn more about your amazing RX!
Thank you for taking the time to do this! Personally, I didn't think I'd watch this from start to finish, but, I realized it's better than trying to comb through the owner's manual page by page, in my opinion. Having actual visuals on features in action really does help. On to part 2!
Finally received my special-order Nori/Palomino 2024 Lexus RX350h Premium+ with all the packages - simpy a dream. And, THANK YOU Melissa O'Connell for amazingly informative video tutorials 1 & 2. I've been watching them and learning for the past 10 months while waiting on my dream SUV to arrive - the Lexus is a GREAT retirement present to myself!!!!
Yay!!! Congratulations on your Retirement and your wonderful gift! Very wise! Thanks so much for being here!
My wife and I just got the '24 RX and your videos are *Chef's Kiss*. Thanks so much for being thorough.
Thank you so much! I'm so glad to help you both learn all about your beautiful new Lexus!
Just wanted to say that I'm very impressed by the thoroughness of this video and the presentation. This should be an official Lexus training video, it was that good.
Thank you so much for your support and kind words! That means the world to me!
@NorthsideLexus hi Ms Melissa my mom has a 2024 lexus rx 350 premium package does it come with the camera lens washer in the premium package
@@jojo2717 Hi! Congrats to your Mom. Yes, the 24 RX has a spray washer for the backup camera lens also. It is smaller and tucked up into the housing, but it operates with the rear window sprayer also. Thanks for checking.
I have had my 2024 RX 350 for less than a month and I have been trying to read the Owner's Manuals. The illustrations are so small that I was frequently unable to figure out which buttons they were referring to. Your tutorials have taught me more than I had been able to get out of many long sessions slogging through the owner's manuals. I still think I have more to learn and will be watching them again. and maybe even a third time.
I'm so glad my videos are helping you learn more bout your RX! The manuals can be really tough to get through now days. Thanks very much for tuning in with me!
Thank You Melissa for another excellent masterclass. No amount of reading or self teaching would cover this much detail. Moving from an NX350H FSport to an RX500H you cover the differences in perfect detail
Thanks so much for all of your support @David-fk1fz! Congratulations on your new RX500h! What an awesome vehicle!
Best RX intro ever. Thank you for your hard work so we can learn everything about RX.😊
Thanks so much for your support! I'm very glad to have you hear learning all about your amazing new RX!
So happy I found your video. In my humble opinion, you have done the best job of explaining my new car. In fact, you have done an AWESOME job of explaining. I am definably going to watch part 2.
Yay!!! Thanks so much! I've very happy to help! Congratulations on your new RX! Thank you for being here and for all of your support!
Love the level of detail in this tutorial.
This video is a gold mine for anyone considering this car ✅✅✅
Thanks so much for your support! So glad to have you here!
Thanks. Your video is so much clearer than the 1,000 pages of manuals that come with the car. I'm not overwhelmed by all the gadgets any more!
Thanks so much for tuning in to learn with me!
god bless this lady for doing this video
So glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for being here with me!
I just picked up my new 2024 Lexus RX 350h luxury trim SUV this afternoon and while my salesperson did a great job of reviewing all the features, these videos, Part 1 and 2 are super helpful for more detail and to reinforce what I already know. They are so expertly done! I’ve purchased every new model of the Lexus RX hybrid since 2007 in essentially the same color, grey with a black leather interior and this 2024 model is superb! Thank you for all your time and attention to detail in producing these videos! Super helpful!😊
Congratulations on your new RX Hybrid! I'm so glad to get to help you learn about it! Thank you for tuning in with me!
Your video is well done and very helpful. Thank you.
Thanks so much! I really appreciate all of your support!
Thank you Melissa. Your tutorials are so much better than the Lexus Owners Manuals.
Thanks so much! I'm so glad you are enjoying learning from my videos! I really appreciate your support!
Amazing education session! It is very hard to read the manual without being in the car to try things out. This video was very well done, narration and video of each function. It is great that you have an index to the various topics so you can go back and repeat a section if needed. Thank you so much for taking the time and effort to put this together!!!!! I wish every vehicle had this kind of resource. Al Donn, Tampa, FL
You've made my day! Thanks so much for tuning in to learn with me! 👍 I really appreciate your support!
Your video is very good and detailed ! I would recommend to everyone who will buy a new Lexus car should learn from your video .
Thank you so much !
I really appreciate that! Thanks very much for being here!
Wow! This is great! I haven't even bought mine yet (waiting for 2024 at this point, since we're in July) and getting to familiarize myself with it like this is fantastic! Especially since my dealership is about 3-hours away! THANK YOU!
That is awesome! I'm so glad to help! the 2024 should be pretty identical, since the redesign just happened for 2023. If there are changes this soon, it could be with color selection or packages. They haven't announced anything yet, but I will be staying tuned with you for sure! Thanks for tuning in with me!
Great video. I got the fully loaded luxury trim three weeks ago and everything applies. Incredibly useful and informative. Thank you.
Congratulations on your new RX! What a treat! I'm very happy to get to help you learn all about it! Thank you for tuning in with me!
Thanks for the detailed response. I appreciate it. Happy holidays!

Picking up my 2024 RX350 on 4-24-24. You are awesome for posting these videos. I used them for our ES350 since our dealer did not spend much time with us. Thanks for all you do.
So glad you like them! Congratulations on your new Lexus RX350! Thanks very much for tuning in with me to learn all about it!
Great video, as I learned so much from it! You did a wonderful job explaining everything. I really needed this so I can use all the features in my new RX 350 H. Looking forward to Part 2. Thank you for putting this together. I know it takes a lot of time to do a tutorial so in depth.
Thank you so much for you support and kind words! I’m so glad the tutorial was helpful for you! Congratulations on your new RX!
This is an excellent video. Thank you!! It answers so many of my questions and shows features I didn't even know the car had! Great job Melissa and Northside Lexus!

@@NorthsideLexus Melissa, thank you for doing these. They are EXTREMELY helpful. My 88 year old father just got a new RX and has been overwhelmed by 'everything'. Having the dropdown list with the time stamps is HUGE!
Can we get someone - at the Toyota dealerships / corporate / you / Toyota Technology Specialist - to do these "Deep Dive Tutorials" for the Sequoias and 4Runners? 😁(I'm assuming you guys are a Lexus exclusive dealership)
Wow! Your work is always so excellent, so clear and thorough. This walk-through is so much better than what the technology specialist at my dealership provided! I really appreciate you covering the unusual but necessary steps such as accessing the vehicle when power is off, and locking the vehicle with the mechanical key when the engine is running. I'm only part-way through part 1, I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of this excellent video.
Thanks so much, Christopher! I'm so glad these are helpful for you. Can you imagine a 4 hour tutorial when you first pick up a new car. That would be a brain melter for sure. LOL! Thank you again for your support and congratulations on your new RX!
Seriously wonderful instructional video! Thank you!
Thank you so much! I'm very glad you enjoyed it!
Your videos have always been well made and exceptional.
Wow, thank you for your support! That means so much to me!
Thank you! There’s no way the technical overview I got at the dealership covered even 10% of this.
Thank you so much 😀 So glad you enjoyed the tutorial!

Great videos! I just ordered my new 350h the other day. I was able to get all the basics of the systems from both videos. Your chaptered videos will make it easy to reference various features once I take delivery. Thanks! Lexus should make your videos their standard for the english speaking world.
You are so sweet! I'm happy to be able to help you prepare for your new RX350h and to make the most of every feature when you have it! Thank you for tuning in with me and for all of your support!
This is awesome! Thank you so much. There is so much I didn't know about my car before I watched this.
Great videos on the details of the 2023-24 RX. I went back and watched them again before taking a test drive this week, and that certainly helped me from looking like an idiot during the test drive! I just ordered my 2024 RX500 today.
You are so sweet! I'm glad it was helpful for you. Congrats on the 2024 RX500h order! That's very exciting!

Thanks for telling me where favorites are
I’m not even in the US, I’m in the U.K. and I’m not even thinking of buying a Lexus (well I wasn’t). However, I watched the whole video from start to finish. This lady really is superb, top quality tutorial video. You know what, I might just go and visit my local Lexus dealer……I’ll add to my list along with Mercedes and Audi.
You are so sweet! Thanks for making my day!
This woman is magical! I’m thinking of buying one of these and I swear this is a huge selling point - it shows the car super up close and spotlights all the cleverness Lexus has baked into it. All Lexus dealers should thank Northside Lexus for this.
You are so sweet! Thanks so much for your support!
thank you

WELL... first, the car is rich with wonderful features. second, it is not overly intuitive - which means your videos are valuable as you may not figure a lot of this out without some help. third... OH MY, what a wonderful, wonderful job you have done. Exhausing several hours of just part 1, BUT.. it sure makes the car more user friendly!!!
I'm so glad you are enjoying your RX! You have me cracking up with your comment and real world experience of the learning curve that goes along with this new system. Thank you for slogging though the tutorial with me. LOL! I know it is a ton of information. Hopefully the Index will make it a bit easier to manage. Glad you're here!

Great videos both parts 1 & 2! Just purchased a new RX350 and this is most helpful. Wondering about parking assist do you do a video on how best to use that feature?
Hi! Sorry for the delay. The Park Assist system responds to stationary objects at about three feet or closer, as long as the sonar sensors can "see" the object. When the system is on, it all happens automatically. If you are parking in a garage or something like that, you can tap on the screen to mute the alert sound and still see the visual aid. Do you have a specific scenario that I could help with? Thanks for being here.
@@NorthsideLexus Thanks for the response. We just purchased a ‘24 RX 350h. Your tutorials were so helpful in learning more about the vehicle and all its features. You do a great job, keep the videos coming!
I have come back to review your videos several times. So well done! What do I turn off to go through an automatic car wash? Thank you!
Thank you so much for your continued support! That means so much. To go through a car wash, select the shortcut menu (it looks like a little ice cube tray, but the "Climate" tab in the middle of the main screen), I like to turn off Parking Support Brake & Parking Assist, then make sure to turn off the Auto Windshield Wipers. If you need to keep the car in Neutral for your type of car wash, then you will pull the gear shift to the left and hold it in place until Neutral lights up. At the end of the car wash, you will apply the brake, shift into drive and then you can turn your features back on before your drive. I hope this helps. Thanks for being here!
Whoa…didn’t know you guys have a YT channel…been searching inventory at North & Westside for an Rx 😂
Awesome! So glad you found us! I hope you find the RX you're looking for! It is such amazing vehicle!
wow this video should be featured in the RX manual. One of the few tutorials that I didn't skip a second of. Thank you!
question: are there drawbacks in keeping brake hold on all the time, meaning every time you come to a stop, e.g. red light, hills, traffic jams, you'll no longer have to keep your foot on the brake pedal? I just don't see a reason not to leave it on all the time, especially when driving in the city.
I think for normal day to day driving most people don't like to have to reactive the feature each drive cycle. I haven't seen any research on the feature being used for every drive. That would be a great question for your Lexus Technician since they are much more knowledgeable about how maintenance for the parts that operate the system would be impacted. Thanks for being here.
Thank you so much for being a nice mentor. Regarding the e-transmission shift on a SLOPE or INCLINED parking space.…shifting to D from P ..or shifting to P from D…there is thud sound with a transmission jerk while shifting…2024 Lexus RX 350 turbo…No problem on flat surface …if possible..Can you advice please…Thanks
Hi! There is a feature on the vehicle that will help it to hold in place temporarily while you move your foot from the brake to the accelerator peddle, when it engages you can hear it. It is similar to the feature that will hold you on a hill for a few seconds when you have the vehicle in Drive and have come to a stop, then move your foot to apply the accelerator. You can try pressing the brake a little longer and a little more firmly until the shift is complete and see if that helps.

You are a life saver. Thank you! ♥️
I just picked up a 2023 RX350. Can you please explain best way to take through car wash. Does PARK break have to be disengaged? Have read so many different explanations
Happy to help! Congratulations on your new RX! Here's what we recommend for going through a car wash: Select the shortcut menu (it looks like a little ice cube tray, but the "Climate" tab in the middle of the main screen), I like to turn off Parking Support Brake (PKSB) & Parking Assist (PKSA), then make sure to turn off the Auto Windshield Wipers. If you need to keep the car in Neutral for your type of car wash, you will pull the gear shift to the left (follow the arrows, toward the driver) and hold it in place until Neutral lights up. At the end of the car wash, you will apply the brake, shift into drive and then you can turn your features back on before your drive. I hope this helps. Thanks for being here!
@@NorthsideLexus Will turning off Parking Assist turn off all proximity sensing beeps?
Great tutorial 👌, I just found so many lexus apps on the App Store, which one I should use ?
Hi! So sorry for the delay! In the US the only compatible app for connected serviced is the Lexus app. It is a black square with a silver Lexus logo. Anything that has "enform" in the title is no longer compatible with the vehicles. I hope this helps. Thanks for checking in.
Hi Melissa - your tutorial is the best I've see. Thank you. One question please. The Right side steering wheel HUD default display has an option for Average Speed and Elapsed Time. I like that. But what is shown on the Multi Info display is Total Time (not elapsed trip time). The two are not consistent. Total time is the number of cumulative driving hours, not the elapsed time of your current trip. Is there any way to display "Elapsed Time" on the Multi Function Display consistent with the HUD?
Hi! Unfortunately, on the new system the Drive Info screens are no longer customizable on the RX. You can toggle through and select which screen you want to have visible, but you can no longer customize what items show on those pages. Thanks so much for checking in and I'm glad to hear that you're enjoying my tutorials.
Hi thanks for the excellent & helpful video. The safety system seems to be too sensitive and makes beep sounds too often. Very annoying. Is there way to reduce the freuency of the beeping sound? I would not turn it off, though.
Hi! Thanks for checking in. There are a lot of different components to the safety system. Many are customizable in the Driving Assist or Vehicle Settings menus. What part of it are you wanting to customize? I'll see if I can point you in the right direction. I do review all settings in Part 2 of the deep dive, if you would rather just check that out: start at this section: 1:41:39 Driving Assist Settings. Thanks again for tuning in with me.
Purchased a 2024 500h and would love to know where I can learn more about the energy flow - the colors are not as you show in this video. and I'm not sure what is actually happening! Where can I learn about this? - Also -- LOVED this video - thank you so much for sharing this information!
So glad you enjoyed the video. The colors and graphics seem to be getting some updates from Lexus. They happen through the cloud or through OTA software updates. It's also possible that the screen from filming and how it shows in the video is not exact since monitors can manage colors differently. The main thing is to look for the flow direction. That is how you can see where the energy is going to or coming from. The other place to check is in the NAV/Multimedia Owners Manual. See if there are more images there for you to explore. Thanks again for being here!
Great video! One question I am stumped on…when locking the car without the key fob (instead touching the door handle), how do I get it to turn off headlights as well as locking the vehicle?
Hi! If you are using the Lock button on the key fob, just press the Lock button twice. The first press will lock the car and the second press will turn off the headlights. Otherwise they will turn off about 30 seconds after the first press (like using the indentation on door handle.) I hope this helps. Thanks for tuning in!
Melissa, how can we disable school zone popups on the infotainment screen? It's really annoying. I can disable reading the speed limit signs, but not the school zone signs. If not possible, please ask Lexus to fix. Or give us an option to disable during summer months, and from 5pm-7am. Thanks.
Hi! I unfortunately there is not a setting for that customization. I know Lexus has received feedback about that popup. It would be great to be able to toggle it on and off. I'm sorry I don't have a fix for you on this one. Thanks very much for being here.
Melissa - Really great tutorials. I've had my RX for a year and still learnt some things. One question I cannot find an answer to: I have two keys, one I carry one my wife carries. I am setup as the primary driver. How do I setup my wife's profile so the car recognizes her by a} image, and b) key? And will it move the driver's seat to her settings when she is the driver, and mine when I am the driver? Great tutorials - why doesn't Lexus provide them?
Hi! You can have add your wife's Lexus app profile to the vehicle to have her as the secondary driver profile. (She will need her own app account with her email and cell. She will not scan the QR code or have the car in her app garage.) Once you add her profile, you can setup Face ID, if your RX has the Driver Attention Monitor and you can link her key. (Make sure her profile is active on the car then press the Settings Gear > Personal Info > Link Key.) You can save her seat position for Driver Position Memory.
For multiple profiles, I recommend saving your seat memory to each profile and just have Primary be #1 and secondary be #2. Save it that way for both profiles so no matter which profile is active, the memory buttons will work correctly. I have seen mixed results with the seats moving automatically when you switch between drivers, so make sure to press the button just incase the seats do not adjust automatically. I hope this helps. Thanks for being here!
Started watching. This is excellent, but do you have one for 2021 Premium model which I just purchased CPO?
Edit - I found your 2021-2022 video - Thanks!!
Awesome! You were quicker than I was. Sorry I didn't get that to you, but so glad you found it! Thanks for being here!
I don't want to spoil the ending but Part 2 is also excellent....
Thank you for all of the amazing support over the years @Berniekitts1786 🤗you're the BEST!
Part 2 of 8 ??
I picked up my new Lexus almost 2 weeks ago. Very happy with it all around. One tech question though: Can the car be put into neutral and then turn the engine off so it stays in neutral? Very helpful for car washes....
Hi! Sorry for the delay. I checked with a coupled of our Technicians and they explained that when the car is turned off, it will automatically go back to the Park mode and will not hold neutral. Apparently they leave the vehicle on and in neutral to go through the car wash, then apply the brake and shift into Drive to exit the wash. I hope this helps. Thanks again for being here.
I believe, as soon as your front tires roll on the car wash belt, you’ve got to hold the gear shifter to the left in the neutral position for a couple seconds until it stays in the neutral position.
When it’s time to exit the wash, just move the gear shifter into the drive position as you normally do.
Hello, I’ve been enjoying your videos and really appreciate it. Can you tell me what to do? I have a Lexus 2020 450H + with all of the accoutrements all the features basically the highest level; can you tell me how to put it through a car wash? What to turn off. Etc. Thank you.
I mean I have a 2024 Lexus 450H + (typo)
Hi! Thanks for checking in. I really need to do a video on this. It is a popular question. Here's what I recommend:
1. Turn off the automatic windshield wipers
2. Open the features shortcut screen (looks like an ice cube tray, small tab by the Climate tab on the main screen): Turn off, PKSA, PKSB (Park Assist and Parking Support Brake). Basically you want to turn off anything that beeps or applies the brake if the Parking Support Alert is beeping at you ;)
3. Shift into Neutral if your carwash requires that. (Move the gearshift to the left and hold for a couple of seconds.) Then at the end of the wash, apply the brake and shift into drive (left and back)
I hope this helps! Thanks again!
Thanks so much for your immediate reply. This should help a lot all the best appreciate it.
Thanks for a very informative video.. I have a question on the start stop feature: Can you change the time to wait before it activates? I don't want the engine to shut off as soon as I stopped...may be wait a minute or two?
Hi! Unfortunately that kind of customization is not possible. You can only choose between the Standard setting and an Extended setting. With the Extended setting, it won't prioritize the Climate Control so it will turn off more often. The best thing I have found is to only lightly apply the brake after you have come to a stop. Then it tends to keep the engine running. I hoe this helps. Thanks for being here!
When turning off the engine. How do you keep the infotainment system on instead of the power turning off?
Hi! There is a well hidden setting called ACC Customize.
Settings > Vehicle Customize > Utility : ACC Customize
When it is Off, it means the car can operate certain accessories while off (until you open the driver's door). When it is set to On, it means the car must be on to operate those accessories. The radio and main screen will stay on until you open the driver's door, or the system times out to protect the car's battery. (I'm not sure what that time frame is.) I hope this helps! Thanks for being here!
I love your reviews and I love the Lexus driver interface. Lexus obviously puts a lot of thought into how drivers want to and need to interact with complex systems. However, you are being very cruel to all the buyers who want a new Lexus but cannot find one because of supply shortages. There is not a new Lexus RX350 to be had in my area of the country.
LOL. I totally understand that! I just extended the lease on my 2020 NX to be able to wait a bit longer for my next one. It will be worth the wait, but sorry for the video tutorial torture in the mean time. :) Thanks for tuning in with me!
