@dakota haro I hear what your saying but we all do some type of drug whether legal or illegal so we can use that argument. Also, people like this really go through things that we don’t know about and sometimes they just need to talk about it. We all see homeless people and for a lot of us, we treat them as less than. What's wrong working with Home Depot? Happiness is not money. It is health and tranquility. Looks like the NBA drove him to greater instability. I think working at HD showed his heart is in the right place.
True, but there's nothing we can do other than bypass them. We don't just randomly stopped and ask what happened to them. The reasons Delonte got helped was because of his past career in the NBA as such. People know him, he once had a big influence on stage. A pitiable society.
I don't care who you are, drugs can ruin your life and this sort of thing happens more often than people realize. It is sad to watch friends or family lose it all because of an addiction.

No, people only need Lord Jesus Christ and people who will genuinely love them like true born again Christians. But only Lord Jesus Christ can fill the voids in our lives and heal us from our hurt.
I met Mark Cuban back in 2001. He kept a helicopter out at the Addison airport. I was working in aviation maintenance back then. He would see us working and come up and talk to us. He treated us the same as anyone else. He didn't let his ego get the best of him. One day, it was cold outside and he had to open the hangar doors to get his helicopter out. He bought us all donuts because he felt bad for having to let the heat out of the hangar. He's done some things recently that has aggravated me a little bit, but I still think Mark Cuban is a great guy with a big heart....
My heart goes out to him. His childhood traumas are probably what caught up with him and he probably didn't even know he had trauma and needed help until it was too late. I hope he's still on his journey to recovery and is doing good.
So his family was all up and through his million dollar house when he was at the top of his game, but when he was down and needed help, where were they?? You dont abandon family.
Sometimes you can offer a place for them to lay their head and all the support but until they want to seek help, (mental health issues, addiction) there isn’t much a family can do, and if he was being toxic (arguments, violence) then that is even worse. Sometimes it’s more than what you see on the surface.
My big brother is an alcoholic. He drinks every day and my 60+ year old mother works and gives him money, feeds him, and he takes advantage of that. Every family gathering for the holidays since I was 12 was always him getting very drunk and throwing temper tantrums like a child. He's lost a lot of teeth and refuses to get help. He has two kids he never fathered or seen without being drunk. They know him only for being drunk everytime. I am now 28 it still happens to this day. I swear, till this day. I can abandon him, I do not need longer than a second to trade him for a water bottle. If it wasn't for my moms crazy overprotectiveness of him, I would go right over there and tell him that he is a grown ass man and to work for his own booze and to get the hell out of her house. You don't abandon family, but when family is so rotten and useless, you cut ties with it before it drags everyone down. I would die for my other brothers and sisters but for him, no. No way. I am way more valuable that he. The funny part? Before he became an alcoholic he had nothing in life to worry about. He just drank and drank and drank. He didn't have problems. He willingly just drank. Everything else that he brought to himself was because of his own drinking.
True they should have been there for him. Iḿ thinking they were careless OR they did not know how to deal with him....if he was so out of control that he was blowing up at his team members and suffering the consequences of doing so then he probably was out of it...and they did not know what to do with him
Your story on Delonte brought tears to my eyes. Thanks to all that helped him during his lowest point, and I pray that he continues to progress with his life.
Looked up to this man when I was a teenager . He was a star for st.Joe’s and Philadelphia . Sad to see his life spiral down but super stoked to see him getting help . Hope he’s doing well to this day
I don't care for basketball. But I love this. It's a perfect example of how CRUEL life can be, and how GOOD people can be. And I love the ultimate message, don't be afraid to ask for or accept help
Keep strong. Dont forget that despite the struggles and madness in this world today, God is full of justice, mercy and love. Justice said we broke His perfect law - causing the world's previous perfection to be destroyed - and therefore we deserve Hell (like a punishment in any legal system but this is eternal as His perfect law is eternal too). Don't think you fit in that category? Ever done one of these?: lying, stealing - regardless of how small the object EVER, hating others - which is murder in God's perfect law, lusting (plus God sees our entire thought life). Justice says "the soul that sins shall die" - if we break one in thought/word/deed it's as if we're guilty of all of them. Quite simply, living by the law (which is doing everything perfectly) is impossible for sinful humans . The law shows us that 1. We will die in Hell if we fail to follow it and 2. We cannot save ourselves BUT, 3. God's perfect, immovable law points us to Christ, who followed and fulfilled the law in thought, word and deed perfectly in our place. He did what we couldn't and did it on our behalf. He was then sentenced to death on a cross, and took our personal punishment for our sin, paying our penalty (like paying our fine) completely FOR us, and has given us freedom. If we turn from the sins we have committed and repent (pursue the opposite direction of love through Christ) He will, overtime, recreate us back into that previously perfect image through The Holy Spirit which Jesus sends to all who accept Him as their personal Lord and Savior of their life. He will help us through the struggle, the stress, and anything we experience in the world. It's about letting Christ in to guide and teach you and obeying Him through His power (not ourselves, we need Him to help us as it's impossible without depending on His power and instruction). He is our substitute in His life, death and resurrection. He essentially rewrote history in our place so that, if you believe in Him, it will be as if you had never sinned if you accept Christ's death as our own in our place. He is in Heaven right now preparing a place for us so that He can take His faithful, believing children home with Him when He returns. He will ressurrect us from death when He returns, giving mercy to those who accept His love, instruction and teachings in their life, and give justice to those who refuse it. He doesn't want ANY of us to go to Hell and die for continuing in evil and rejecting His way to life, thats why He died FOR us. Hes giving EVERYONE a chance, He wants everyone to take the free gift of salvation from Hell. He wants us to be His and begin to follow His life of love and service through His power and abiding (staying) with Him. So long as we keep our hearts near to Christ through His strength, strive to follow His will of perfect love revealed in the Bible, and let Him lead in the midst of (very certain) pitfalls and struggles, we will, in time, win the ultimate victory over sin, pain and DEATH through Christ. Even if you are willing to be made willing, pray for Jesus to come in and He will do what we can't. Give us The Holy Spirit who will guide us in the right way. Christ says in John 16:33: I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace. In the world you have tribulation and distress and suffering, but be courageous [be confident, be undaunted, be filled with joy]; I have overcome the world.” [My conquest is accomplished, My victory abiding.] - (AMPLIFIED version) NOTE: You are NEVER too sinful or messed up that God cannot turn your life around through Jesus. EVER. Regardless of what you've done or what you're going through you CAN make it through Jesus.
As a man to another man damn this was touching and almost cried man this was bit hard to watch. No one should ever have to go threw this. Ever. But god is grate and full of love . He never gives up on any one .
Indeed, the Lord Jesus Christ gives us joy and eternal life, and whoever believes in him shall not perish but have everlasting life. “Also let’s not use God like that :) “

from what i heard delonte started going insane and got into a bunch of arguements with his family so he ended up leaviing them. poor guy

Quite simply, living by the law (which is doing everything perfectly) is impossible for sinful humans
In the world you have tribulation and distress and suffering, but be courageous [be confident, be undaunted, be filled with joy]; I have overcome the world.” [My conquest is accomplished, My victory abiding.]

NOTE: You are NEVER too sinful or messed up that God cannot turn your life around through Jesus. EVER. Regardless of what you've done or what you're going through you CAN make it through Jesus.
An A+ to all the people that help him, and the NBA players 🙏
As a man to another man damn this was touching and almost cried man this was bit hard to watch. No one should ever have to go threw this. Ever. But god is grate and full of love . He never gives up on any one .
Indeed, the Lord Jesus Christ gives us joy and eternal life, and whoever believes in him shall not perish but have everlasting life. “Also let’s not use God like that :) “
Love Mark Cuban. He's crazy passionate about his team life and individual players.
So why didn't he respect the man's privacy then??
@@letsdiscussitoversometea8479 what do you mean by that?
@@saf365 I mean, that the poor gentleman might not have wanted to draw any attention to himself, given the apparent hardship - and disadvantage - that he may have already suffered in his life.
Suffering in and of itself is torturous enough, without having the public gawping at it and "picking up" on aspects of your suffering that could be construed as "X", "y", or "z".
Particularly if it pertains to - quote unquote - ""mental illness"" - the answer for EVERYTHING that appears "abnormal".
Indescribably thoughtless and insensitive means of disrupting one's ability to cope/endure/resolve one's suffering.. publicising it I mean.
Indescribable.
@@letsdiscussitoversometea8479 Hey uhh dummy, it was already super heavily publicized, that's how Mark Cuban found out about it in the first place. He didn't publicize it himself, at most he put that one post out there of him after he was recovering for a month *at his request.* Try watching the video again to get your story straight.
@@Bigtmac2200 Why are you being rude for???
Why should I explain myself to someone having an attitude like that?
Mark Cuban has a heart and I thank him for reaching out to this young man. 🙏🏾🙌🏾😭
I've gained some much respect for Mark Cuban. Stuff like this gives me hope in this fucked up world.
Except he's a shill for the CCP.
Bruh he did so u people would praise him…if he had a heart he would’ve helped delonte sooner
@@zowiewowie4458 🤡
@@zowiewowie4458 but he didn’t know about it, he helped delonte as soon as he got to know about it, think before you’re saying something
Dang, I feel like I relate to him, I too had a rough upbringing, never was close to my parents, bullied in school, never had friends and now that I’m older, I’m dealing with mental illness, my doctor thinks it bipolar disorder but I know for sure it’s borderline personality disorder. I hope he gets back into the NBA, I remember him on the Cavs.
Nicely done. Glad this was classy and respectful, not gossipy or just trash. I am so glad he was actually helped. May God bless him to stay on the right track.
As a person with bipolar I know exactly what he going through I lost many opportunities for my behavior . At this point in the game I've learned to be grateful for whatever opportunities I get 🙏. I quit lashing out on ppl sometimes with the mania you can be extremely over zealous . I just let people be work and get out the way hangout in my home and remember to be grateful cause it can always be worst . Climbing steadily saving my money. Doing the right things and maintain positive ppl around and protecting my energy
Pls dont make kids If you re bipolar
@@vato6815 I'm fkn nuts...1 kid...she's crazier than me and I'm a menace. Sorry
@@vato6815 this comment seems rough, but I think i know what it is about. There is a good chance that the kids of a bipolar or any other mental illness can get that same illness too and if you are mentally ill or have problems you may have problems caring for those kids and them having the same problems would be really bad.
I am also bipolar plus all other things that come with it the hard part is actually some years back.
I never want to have kids and risk to spread my bad genes and cause trouble
Yep, I'd been an all A student got diagnosed, and failed 11th grade missed a ton school. Now Im in 12th grade trying to clean up my manic mess. Very fortunate to have learned about my illness now though rather than as an adult.
@@thagodwecreate5179 That is neither of your guy's fault. My fathers bipolar put me through years of trauma, along with me being diagnosed myself. I recognize that it is an illness and there is no-one to blame. You are not a menace, just someone who suffers from a brain disorder that is strong enough to overcome the challenges. Wanting to have a kid while suffering a genetic chronic illness is not a crime, it is natural to want kin of your own. Just be prepared to help them get through the challenges they may face.
Mark Cuban is an angel from heaven for helping Delonte. This story made me cry. Wow. Guardian angels did their jobs and prayers held him from the enemies hands. Thank God for his life.
SJU class of '05.... I tried to sell D trees at a house party on 54th Street. lol such good memories of West Philly. Keep going strong man. PHL always has your back
