Hello R & P... first off... cool shirt, Pauline! Rick's shirt takes me back to my very early 70's childhood... a time I would like to forget... thanks, Rick. lol Anyhow, I love presentations like this... very interesting how a diesel guy has so many steamers, and a rocket train, as his favorites. It reminds me of myself saying I am not into steamers, and keep admiring them and even buying some. Great list and fun to watch! Cheers!
Hi Anthony, I prefer the diesels in real life no doubt because that's what I grew up with. With models I'm not too fussy and being a Wrenn lover their range was mostly steam. Of course the models I grew up with included Wrenn. Glad you appreciate my (lack of) fashion sense. All the best Rick
Hi guys, another great video. You have brilliant collection of locos. I do like your Wrenn Loco,s, they,r something special. My favourite is the Hornby class 25 I have one of those. Keep them coming guys. All the best. Carl.
Hi Rick and you did show some great Locomotives in this one. Time to think them all over lol 🤣. OK hold off you went to see the Flying Scotsman WOW.... But not you favorite mmm 🙃. But that is ok, and it all was just great. Take care and have a great Beatl.... OK Rolling Stones lol week!!!!!!
Hi Brad, we rode behind the Scotsman a few years ago but I've always loved the Bullied Pacific's so it was great to ride behind them both on the same day. I always preferred the Scotsman in its LNER livery but there you go. Let's just call it a fab week. 😂😂Thanks for watching Rick
Thank you Rick and Pauline; highly enjoyable as ever. A West Country ‘City of Wells’ has been on my wishlist for some time. I hadn’t realised Wrenn had produced it, though, so I’ll now start looking for one of those instead of the Hornby version. I have no Wrenn locos at present but always longed for one as a kid. Yes, Thomas Hardy wrote ‘Tess of the d’Urbervilles’ plus ‘Far from the Madding Crowd’, ‘The Mayor of Casterbridge’, ‘Jude the Obscure’ and others. ‘Rebecca’, however, was written by Daphne du Maurier’. All West Country tales though!
The City of Wells is a cracking loco and being a Wrenn tooling has more detail than the Wrenn ex Dublo models, they do it with the Golden Arrows on the sides and front. This model also has can detail and all driving wheels are flanged. Got me on Rebecca, don't know why I thought TH wrote it! Reading is my other main interest after modeling. I might do a model railways book review in our next Chuffed show, any suggestions would be welcome. All the best Rick
@@wellchuffedrailwaysThanks Rick. As it happens, my parents were Booksellers and I’ve also started a small collection of books on railway modelling. Their regular customers included Reverend Awdry, who lived locally. David St John Thomas (one half of the railway publishers David & Charles) was one of their good friends and it was at an event in the shop where Awdry and Thomas first met. For the collection, I’ve concentrated on early titles as these reflect the days of modelling without the benefits of computers and today’s plethora of kits, models and scenic materials. John Ahern’s ‘Miniature Landscape Modelling’ remains a favourite as it shows how he constructed his ‘Madder Valley’ layout now preserved at the Pendon Museum. Also on my shelf are copies of various titles by Henry Greely and Eric Beale, some 1930s Bassett-Lowke catalogues and, of course, a signed copy of Reverend Awdry’s ‘The Island of Sodor - its people, history and railways’. I do have more modern titles, from the 1970s onwards. These include some catalogues and larger titles such as ‘The trains on Avenue de Rumine’ which is where model locomotives reach coffee table book collections.

It would be great to see a running session of all the trains and rolling stock that you have bought.
Not many West Country Class Bulleids have hauled the Green Arrow train. The most likely locomotive to haul this train is the LNER locomotive named after the Green Arrow train.
Hi, I think I said Golden Arrow. Cheers Rick
@@wellchuffedrailways Absolutely!! I got a bit confused because, although I have heard of the Golden Arrow, which went from London to the south east coast, mostly to Dover and Folkestone.
Charlie Bishop of chadwick model railway has a class 13 that somebody made for him can't think which video it's in though but it looks good regards Sam Woodward
Thanks Sam!
Class 13 is the diesel known as the Teddy Bear, is it not? If so, there is a model brought out last year by Dapol.
good vid
Thanks Lee
You can drive the 31 for a couple of hundred with or without coaches, Im seriously thinking about it being a ex secondman, Go for it. Obviously I'm on my wife's tablet, I worked at Tinsley loco in the 70s.
Really that sounds like a good way to spend a day! Tinsley gone like so much of our history. 😡
@@wellchuffedrailwaysCannot wait for the driving 31 vlog thanks.
We used them 25s at Shirebrook West weren't popular not strong enough on coal trains sent them back to Scotland.
Those tank locomotives are models that come in the less expensive train sets.
Gordons alive ..
Nothing wrong with strange
Actually going back to the Duchess Class, I had City of Litchfield, Hornby obviously in Green
Nope strange is good and we really are spoilt for choice with Stanier models. All the best Rick
