There's a possibility that a mouse or pack rat might have chewed the wire/s to the sensor. Could you explain the routing of the wire so I can visually inspect the wire/s to c if that is the problem?
I have a 2016 F165 with 69k miles. Tonight my temp gauge jump from normal to full hot. I have a p1299. The engine loss power and I had to turn around and drive back to work. I may fix it myself. If I do, I will upload a video.
I replaced my temp sensor and will be uploading a video showing how to get down to it. The dealer wanted $1,200 to replace it.

Is the sensor in the same place for the 2016 3.5 liter Ecoboost? I can find a video anywhere.
do you have the part numvber? if you do can it share it? i am having a difficult time findeing it. Thanks
Do you have a video from the start. And also is their one on both sides? Did you have to bleed the fuel lines when done?
I replace this sensor but it didn't help. The bad sensor was on the left head near the turbo.
On the driver side head?
@@fredycastillo4658 No, on the left head near the steering pipe.
@@fredycastillo4658 I now have a huge fuel leak. I wish someone before me uploaded a video showing the correct sensor to replace.
F165, I watched your videos. So I have a 2019 f150 2.7, do you know if the coolant sensor is behind the passenger side head?
@@darrellbaker4537 Left head near turbo.
Is that the same for the 3.5 engine 2016 F150 limited
Hi Hugo do you know the sensor number? Or specs they couldn’t find it at my local auto zone
My 2016 F150 light came on for coolant overheating and it slowed down and was running rough. This came out of the blue, it has 75,000 miles
Did u ever fixed it ?
Jorge NLdesmadre I have the same issue rn
what wee the symptoms that triggered this repair?
The computer think the engine is over heating and shut 3 cylinders off. My truck would only do 20 mph on flat ground.
I replaced the sensor I'm getting a P1299 still does it reset on its own? Still says its over heating even on first start up at cold.
A code reader has to reset the computer. Unhooking the battery will not reset it.
Which size of socket did you use? For the sensor
19 mm drop down wrench.
Very Very hopeful
Lol what tools did you use?
I can't get the correct angle with any of my tools to reach it
It gave a code p1289
Where’s the wire I’m just cut it
Need4Speed soundtrack
Should of drained the coolant before
Hi hugo
