Thank you for sharing this excellent demo! I particularly enjoy 😊 that you turn the knobs while playing. Gives an idea 💡 what's possible with your setup, like the myriads of variations… 🤓
Hi, Great board. I like it. What is the order of the pedals? Nose, compressor, preamp ... From right to left. Then the upper line right to left? I cannot see everywhere how the cables go. And what is the function of the nose pedal? As I see it has two outputs. One is goes to the compressor other to the mxr filter.
I have a problem with my 5 strings bass Yamaha RBX 305, the D and G strings sound too thin and weak. What kind of pedal could help me to improve the sound? I have new strings Ernie Ball 5-String Super Slinky .040 - .125 and I have lowered the D and G strings. I can't modify my pickups. Thank you!
AlbertSerrano all you need is a good setup. There is no "magical" pedal that can amplify specific strings. A compressor pedal can help a little but won't solve the problem. Good luck!
AlbertSerrano how about lifting the pickup on the higher and thinner strings? Or, if it's already top level, then lowering the pickup on the bottom end might help. The goal is to achieve the best balance. By the way, maybe lowering the action of the D and G string wasn't a too good idea, because that might cause the string not being able to vibrate enough. But that's a mere speculation… Good luck adjusting, be careful with the screws, don't screw them (haha!), and if in doubt, ask a good luthier. PS: I play the Yamaha TRBX305 (who invents these names?), that should be quite the same as yours. At least the pickups, humbuckers with two rows of thick magnets. I get a decent sound from them, being picked with fingers or plectrum, or being slapped, popped, snapped or whatever. If only it was a six string, it would still be my main bass.
Thank you for all your response guys! You are right, the trick is in the mids, every day I'm improving my sound as says Pertybass, all is about test your setup.
Great Pertybass. I follow your work! Congratulations! Do you think you have a very big difference between the Boss LMB3 and the MXR Bass Compressor? I am in doubt if together more money and I buy the MXR or if the LMB3 already solves the problem well.
MXR products really are very good! Thank you very much for your opinion! I'm looking for a used MXR option. I have an MXR DI M80 and am amazed at the sound of it. I saw that you use Mooer's Phase Ninety. Have you ever seen their yellow compressor?
Nice video and interesting chain! Do yo still use the mooer phaser? I'm looking for a phaser that doesn't suck the low end, or drop volume and the price of that is tempting. Do you encounter any issues with it? I have the mooer e-lady (flanger) and is nice but I thing there is a really small amount of volume drop. But it is really good for the price and size. + About the Mojomojo. You people out there if you are looking for a dissent bass overdrive without busting the bank thats your answer! I have it and it is very good and cheap! Peace!
Awesome video!!! Have you tried the TC Electronic Flashback Mini? Does both Flashback and Flashback Mini have the same functionality or Mini doesn't have some of them?
Stupid question, but how did you learn to play/know how to set up such a killer pedal board? I've played bass for a while but always in school or shitty bands. I've always wanted to learn how to properly run a slap bass technique, as well as learn some funky/Jazzy tunes to just jam out to solo. But I can't really seem to find a solid learning program. I've had two private teachers which one was decent and taught me scales but didn't do much after that and the second was a college kid who didn't know much and just needed the cash. haha
Ronald Fleming thanks! I play bass for more than 25 years, so I have a lot of experience. My tip for you is to keep trying and exploring the world of music and playing bass and finding the right teacher.
@@pertybass thanks for your kind answer! Anyway do you lossing your low end when mix the dry and wet signal with nose pedal? Is it true bypsss? I'm looking a fx loop pedal.
Very nice. Great Sound. I just don't like the orange and Corona pedal, I prefer boss bass chorus and boss bass overdrive. I got thoose pedals actually. Your slapping is rude.
@@pertybassa few boss buffers wouldn’t do any harm though. Actually probably benefit things. Since long chains like this start to lose some signal. 1-3 boss pedals is probably fine.
Tanx so much. I've just replaced an old boss compressor With the MXR M87. Still tweeking. The old boss did a great jobb tightening the low end, and maybe missing that a bit in the MXR M87. Copying your settings for now:) Just looking for some subtle tightening...
Hey, I've been looking at getting that Mooer phaser for my bass pedal board, and was wondering if you experience any loss of low end with it? Thanks in advance :)
Pertybass that sequence absolutely makes sense! I only wonder why you didn't put the TC tuner at the first position. I don't think it's possible to use especially the polyphonic tuning function, when you have a weird, distorted sound set. Is it because of a deep mistrust against the bypass function of it? Like, no "true bypass"?
+Max Bg the pedals that comes after the compressor are "time based" pedals. If they would come before the compressor, it would affect them. I use The preamp most of a booster, so it also can't come before the comp pedal... I hope you understand my explanation
+Pertybass Yes, thank you. I understand it. But I have two more questions. What would happen if you put the compressor in the first place? And do you have to switch of all or most effects to use the tuner?
Nice. Also good to see a pedal board demo by someone wearing shoes.

I bet most of them aren't wearing pants either.
