It was a busy 2012 summer season for Maria Winning Stuttgart, Rome, and Paris. Having also long matches between these tourney. Move to Grass court to reach 4R with this kind of win and 3 sets lost to Sabine. And reach another F at Olympics some weeks later... I missed 2012 season so much.. women's tennis was so iconic during that time. 😊😊😊😊
Pironkova was a controlled power type player, did she have as much knockout pace as Williams, no, but she was fantastic at just keep persistently going hard and flat to prevent players from any time and not making many mistakes...
Pironkova had outstanding court coverage, variety and considerable skill, but I think she let the nerves get to her towards the end of the first set and also in the third, so she missed a few opportunities to win early. And Masha at Wimbledon, it was clearly always special for her... You just could not afford to miss any opportunities, because she'd go in for the kill at the first sign of nerves. As she did here. Well fought by both anyway.
With the way Pironkova played she could easily have beaten Sharapova there, but Masha found a way somehow to win, Maria was struggling big time after winning the French '12, completely outplayed by Lisicki in the fourth round
@@kusmarchonok Yeah I suppose you're right there, Serena though won Wimbledon and thrashed Sharapova for gold. I still thought Sharapova played well to get to the gold medal match, Serena just went for broke the whole Olympics.
I think Lisicki had extra motivation from Maria brutally beating her in AO 2012 a few months prior. This was her only win over Sharapova. The H2H is 6-1 Sharapova
Pironkova has won nothing! Probably never will. At least with Sharapova there was passion, fighting spirit, although I do agree it can get loud. But, Pironkova is like a robot.Serena grunted really loud when she was playing, where is the moaning?
Sharapova annoying as hell with forced grunting to prevent rival player to focus and perform, too bad my homie Pironkova havent had a good coach to polish her already great skills she coulhave been destroying such players as Sharapova

AND a world class BH. Pironkova's BH was one of the best in the world. Too bad her FH was so bad
Dos jugadora excelente👏🌹 bendiciones para ambas un abrazo😘😘❤❤👏
Awesome masha 👌

Byron McRae Wimbledon wasn’t important, it was like training before the Olympics

Maria is also cheater. Don’t forget that
I'd like to see this replayed with the rule of no yelling/grunting allowed.
@B M-Y I know there's no such rule. I said "I'd like to see ... " as a way to express my point. You know that. Plus, there are other options.
@Bock Jagne I agree something should be done about really loud obnoxious grunting. Maybe the problem would be how to judge the cutoff.
Get a surgeon and let it zip your ears

If grunting is distracting for someone, that person is probably not a good tennis player lol. What a ridiculous excuse
I guess Maria’s pills had not kicked in for that match 🙄
Maria won Brisbane and reached Australian open final without that "magic pill" in 2015.
Nice. No more screaming on courts around the world . That was not fair game.
Yeah right. What about Nadal, Azarenka, Sabalenka, Serena, Venus
So glad Sharapova has retired now, but her legacy of screaming sadly lives on
Cry hater cry
@@toffyfederer1151 tears of joy babe. Bye
Seems almost like cheating to making all that noise every point. I guess it's how she distracts her opponents.
@Bock Jagne for sure 👍
Well she's not the only one.
If it is cheating why she also lost matches and she is grunting.
