Sedimentary rocks will absorb water and can explode but igneous rocks formed by volcanic activity are what’s used in saunas. Obsidian, like Billy showed you, is ignious but it’s not used in saunas because it’s like glass and too smooth so the water would run off before it evaporated and gave off the desired heat.
