  • This video is a little different than the usual one but I felt I had to share it with you guys and show you the redesign of this space from start to finish.
After living in New York my whole life and realizing rent is $2-3,000 a month for a one bedroom I had to figure out a different way. I'm 26 years old and really didn't need more space than a one bedroom. I went straight to educate myself to somehow not have to do this. I went to RUclips and stumbled upon people like Graham Stephan & Meet Kevin as well as the bigger pockets podcast and one thing they harped on a lot was to purchase a "house hack".
This video is a vlog style look into my renovation of one of the units of my multi-family house. The upgrades include a new luxury vinyl plank flooring, new lighting, new quartz counter top, new kitchen faucet and hardware, new undermount sink, painting original kitchen cabinets, new shiplap wall, new shiplap barn door as well as new furniture & décor.
Let me know what you think below!

    COSTS
$1200-Countertop (I was able to find a piece excess of quartz from a larger
cut at the counter top place) This is a good way to save on price
$1,100- New flooring (Got a designers discount)
    $1,000- New lighting
    $550- New base molding
    $300- Faucet
    $350- Sink
    $250- Shiplap
    $60- Shiplap door base
    $150 Shiplap Hardware
$150 Flush mount light fixtures ($75 each)
    $170 Pendants ($85 Each)
    $200 Paint & Supplies
    $80 Brass hardware

Really nice result and a good financial decision. Are you a fellow mustachian? If you don’t mind me asking, how much is the monthly payment, and how many income does the rental generate.
A little pointer on the camerawork, slow the movement down, you made me get mild seasickness 😉

Thanks Arvid! The monthly payment is about $3400. I get $3,000 a month from the other unit plus utilities. So I live here for around $400-$500 a month. And lol yea I was filming these videos with like no sleep and barely have vlogged like this but thanks for pointing that out. Thanks for watching 👍

Love what you did! Would also love to see what you do with the apartment upstairs, or are you renting it as is? Love the Reno vlog and would love to see more videos like it! -Stephanie Scainetti

Great job👍For anyone interested…Louie did some renderings for an investment home I was building and I was able to rent it out fully even before completing the build. Invaluable tool and very professional service!

Classic = good, Outdated means the same thing as classic, but you just dont' happen to like the color, lol.
