Cheers,
Excellent performance! Bonham follows Jimmy's every tangent a rare chemistry in musicians.
This was a PROG ROCK evening indeed Steve! Thank you for watching, stay tuned for more!
Thank you ! There has never been a band that touched like Led Zeppelin!!!!
The ‘Paganini of electric guitar’ comes to the city of art…for all to witness! And what a spectacle it must’ve been. I’ve been aware of and have loved this show for about 30 years now. Lead Poisoning, I believe is the title of the vinyl set I got all those years ago. The way the boomy bass triggers in atop Bonzo’s intro is simply like going from zero to 200mph in a split second. Total whiplash! This month long tour saw the technicians at the height of its technical abilities. No sluggish energies here and we should ALL be very thankful someone had the intestinal fortitude to sneak a tape recorder into the hall tonight and walked away with this historical document.
You're damn right about the Paganini of Electric Guitar, more like Page-anini? hehe. The technicians yes, did a fantastic job with the sound. The taper is on Mike Millard's level of concert hall of fame!
Robert could be very engaging and other worldly in his audience interaction
This evening he is just downright out there
Robert had a blast right? The Viennese hosts probably took good care of them...and the groupies haha.
Another well put together epic episode where you continue to teach me new things about the band. Thank you,Jose. ✌️❤️
My pleasure Tim! Glad it feels this way. More Coffee on the way for more episodes to release!
Man, you content is so good! I get lost watching the show reading these commentaries just wandering how fantastic must have been to attend to some of this historical performances! Your script is so well written it made me fell a little like the real energy of that moment. Thank you so much for that.
Showing Jose, some love... Thanks for all you do for us ZEP-HEADS!! ✌🏼🤘🏼Long Live Led Zeppelin 👏🏼👏🏼
Rock on Keith! Thank YOU as always for tuning in! More stuff coming up!
Marvelous as per usual brother! ❤
I love how Bonham does the kick drum stutter on Black Dog live. Not just the broken triplets he's famous for, but almost three consecutive hits with the foot.
All I can come up with for this performance is the ubiquitous term…Man dude! Whatever before show, during show, wizards brew Bonham summoned inside himself, truly smashed down a hammer of the Rock Godz! PLAY LOUD
Incredible performance by Bonzo right? He felt quite comfortable and at the same time challenged in Vienna. The music was in the air! Thank you for watching, stay tuned for more!
Oh, my goodness, the guitar work on Since I've been loving you! Best ever! Thank you for bringing this to our attention, JCM!
What a blues masterclass right? Page was untouchable in 1973. Thank you for watching, stay tuned for more!
Jose has Done it Again-Awesome Part 2 & Can’t Wait for Part 3 ! As Always THANX JOSE !!
My pleasure Ian! I may add a different show this Saturday and then hit Vienna Part 3!
Great video Jose! This was a great show....I've got a soundboard of this one. Peace. Ernie
Always a pleasure Ernie, glad you enjoyed it, revisiting this made me think Bonham was definitely the MVP on that Tour!
Gustav Holst dance floor. Yeeeeees! + 1 million points to you sir.
Wow! What a show. Masters at their craft. Insane drumming and telecommunications between everyone. Plant-tations on point! This is one of the shows that needs to be released from the archives. And great intro portion Jose! Very artistic
Couldn't agree more! I would call it Listen to this Eddie but in German Hör dir diesen Eddie an. Hope you have a great week Matt!
Excellent episode Jose, I really liked your detailed explanations. Plant chatter is so funny 😊 As I told you before, I have a passion for the 1973 shows and this one is no exception, these “British longhair cats” sound formidable here (I made a pun because my cats are British shorthairs and they’re called - of course! - Jimmy, Bonzo, Jonesy and Rob, my CatZeppelin, they don’t play anything but they meow a lot) 😁 Thanks Sensei, see ya 👋
Thank you very much Marcia, CATZeppelin now that's a band, do they play Black Cat? Hot Cat? Cat i'm gonna leave you? hahaha
@@JCM-LedZeppelin-Stories
hahaha nah, they just have a talent for eating, sleeping and making a mess. There are many videos on YT with cats “playing” Zeppelin, I like the feline version of STH and the Vikings cats singing Immigrant Song and dreaming of the being the “overlords of America”. Hilarious 😹
Wow! This version of Dazed and Confused is off the charts. I didn’t realize Robert’s vocals changed so much by ‘73. I’ll have to go find a clean recording of this show. Thanks for sharing 🙏🤩❤️
Hey Dave! Thanks for watching! May i recommend YT Channel Led Zeppelin Boots, i believe he's got a couple of versions for this show ! Robert always delivered through his on stage banter and bravado, always gave 110% right?
The 4 source Matrix is the best now.

Thank you! Another excellent production, I don't know how you do it! Keep up the great work!
I think the secret is my coffee maker man haha. Thank you for watching, stay tuned for more!
Yeah man. How does he do that? To do that without ANY support from the Zep crew is something really mind boggling to me.
Many thanks JCM, great to hear some peak Jimmy especially on Dazed! Out of all legendary rock guitarists Jimmy's fall from 73 god lead gtr playing is quite incredible with the ARMs tour playing utterly painful, Stairway in particular
I think his "fall" was more reinventing himself you know? Not being a fanboy but i just think he made the right move in changing his sound thus 1973 is extra special. In a world of guitarists sticking to the same sound or over indulging in it (Steve Vai i can see you), Page moved on!
What a show. Thanks so much for presenting it to us like this. So many treasures here one after the other. Even though Plant couldn't reach all the notes, he had some great moments at the end of SIBLY (Jimmy excellent here too) and STH. JPJ's tummy troubles didn't effect his performance and I loved his mellotron work here. I will try not to gush about my forever MVP...but BONZO😍...sigh. His bass drum was *singing* in OTHAFA, I loved the way he just exploded at the end of The Rain Song and then the magnificent DAC. I need a rest in a dark room! Off topic, Jose, but I always get a load of LZ recommended videos when I open youtube and this one came up recently. You may have already been told about it, but its first few seconds appears to have some of your opening credits-was permission given or was it 'stolen'? ruclips.net/video/l_liLQ81pNw/видео.htmlsi=8AX0Q-_S2lOz36CP
Hi Elle! Thanks for watching first of all! As fof the video you shared i was surprised to see my intro for Vienna 1973. Guess we can call that a bootleg? Haha. I suspect this and other channels are A.I generated. If you watch this one they feature Jason Bonham who did not play with Zeppelin until after 1980. This gives away the lack of attention to detail. Fighting these things is tricky as it unfortunately gives these people what thet want...attention. So i will take is as a flattering form of imitation. A sign of one's work being noticed. I will keep producing these episodes and envision positive results :)
Yeah, the hottest take on TSRTS other than on Listen to This Eddie...THE most smoking hot show opening EVER!
This bootleg should be called "Hör dir diesen Eddie an" right? Superb stuff by Bonzo! Thank you for watching, stay tuned for more!
Great job again, Jose! Thank you. Peace, from Florida.
Greetings up there in Florida man! Thank you for watching, stay tuned for more!
I've always wondered if Robert's diologue between songs was improvised or if he had put some thought into what he was going to say before each show. If it was improvised on the spot, I'd say that he has an amazing mind.
Richard great question. This was improvised i can tell you by comparing his Plantations at other shows. Robert's mind is Very very quick, he truly has the gift of communication thus why he Knows so much music and can borrow early blues sources instantly.
Can't wait for Hamburg, my favorite rendition of WWL. Please do it soon!
We'll get there for sure, the tour keeps moving :)
Bonham playing behind the beat on the main riff intro on D&C - too cool
He was on Savage mode!
Wow, you make great content. Your videos allow me to just listen to the incredible historic audio if I want to. But, if you watch it with your video comments, it adds so much to my understanding and enjoyment! kudos! I only wish I could hear/watch without all the skips. :(
Hey man thanks so much! Long editing hours behind these hehe. The ads its just because it helps me stay in business :) the more Patreons i have the less advertising i need. Hope you enjoy the rest of the content!
@@JCM-LedZeppelin-Stories Hi Jose, thanks for the response. I actually did not mean the ads, I meant the concert content. Could you do a full concert instead of just snippets of songs?
@@r0369 Oh sure i see what you mean, so because this is a retrospective i just do a summary so i can also help out other RUclips Channels which feature these shows in its entirety, thus, we benefit from the content. I believe this helps the community!

Yes. The epic Led Poisoning. 3-16-73.
I'll be listening to Led Poisoning tonight. Dankeschoen.

P.S. I forgot to tell you, I was at this and all the Deutscher shows. I try not to show off too much. LololoL.
The most eerie one was at Berlin in the Deutschlandhalle. I could feel the presence of a certain someone who spoke there many years before. LedHed 🎸
you were at this shows!!!!!!!!!!!! GET OUT hahahah that's incredible man. So you did you feel at Berlin? Need to check that one out!
Nice Jose. Packaged perfectly as usual
I appreciate that Scott, listening to this show was an uplifting experience!
It's heartbreaking listening to these post 1972 shows. Plant's voice is in tatters here. He needed rest and a good doctor, instead they soldiered on and he never sounded the same again.
He needed to sing SOMEBODY GET ME A DOCTOR!!! Thank you for watching, stay tuned for more!
Just as an aside, The Sweet's Need a Lot of Lovin' is excellent. Their b-sides rocked.
The opening riff is like Whole Lotta Love meets Paranoid, fantastic tune!
damn, that was great!
Thank you for watching, stay tuned for more!
So interesting to hear Robert refer to Dazed and Confused as "an old one". The song was only 4 years old at the time. I'm sure over time Zeppelin's music has come to mean something else to the members these days, but to these guys in 1973, it's just "that old thing" they did a few years ago. No wonder Robert doesn't want to reform Zeppelin if that's how it feels for him. Wild.
I think the sense of being an old song is because of how things changed by 1973, Vietnam was over, the economy was starting to nose dive past Nixon's brilliant idea to devaluate the U.S Dollar, 1969 certainly seemed like wishful thinking by 1973. Robert has been wise in not reforming Zepp, i think the last thing he wants is to Don Henley himself, but again, when was Don Henley cool like Plant? Never hahah.
Kezar '73 trumps this show for consistency, but there are some extraordinary moments of inventiveness here which are very nice to hear.....
Hey Kev! Glad you enjoyed this one, Bonham is just a mad man right? Kezar had the US Tour momentum for sure!
After hearing this,? I understand why the bootleg community has put this on top. I’d love to find a good copy.
My friend gave me a copy of their 75 show “to be rock and not to roll” (not Vienna)
It was very good in terms of sound quality and they performed very well……however, this show has fire!
Vienna is certainly a must-own bootleg not just for Zepp fans but Rock fans in general. You know, it's harder to analyze the Stones' boots cause they rarely deviate from the form...and one would think they did...not really. Zepp on the other hand, you feel the humanity and musicianship!
12:38 Imagine seeing some big rock and roll band actually tuning on stage?
The sign of humanity in their playing, unlike Don Henley! hahah
The yes reference at 16:27 total mass retain from close to the edge
Nice catch!! Decided to throw that in expecting somebody noticing, and you have been the only one! Thank you for watching, stay tuned for more!
@@JCM-LedZeppelin-Stories I love your documentaries.
Total Mass Retain is such an iconic phrase whose meaning is the source of debates like Stairway. I laugh at how Anderson gets criticized for it, but for me that's the magic and beauty of the title! Thanks so much for tuning in!
@@JCM-LedZeppelin-Stories I love Andersons lyrics, too. You should do a documentary on close to the edge
I think somebody else made one but i can try and give it a different spin. i LOVE Close to the Edge, one of those records that always inspires me.
Is there an Episode 1 of this?
Hey Joe here you go! ruclips.net/video/cZcz9_02aj4/видео.html
Need my fix. Lol.
@666MOWZER good to see you in church 😈
Hahahah thanks man, more episodes coming up!
You mentioned that Robert had lost some of is vocals and had to rephrase? Watching ALL YOUR VIDEOS I thought so as well but listening to Page and Plant live in 96 that his voice sounded fantastic and his phrasing sounded great almost as if he was in his prime. Obviously, there were a lot more vocal aids, computers, different affects, but he sounded amazing.
Just a reminder, I am your loyal Sunday, viewer and listener. Have the best day. Look forward to more stuff!
By 1996 Robert Plant was a different singer who actually took care of his voice since 1981. I don't know how much "computer" aid there was outside of compressors and delay units, but what is noticeable is that he sings from a very different place. Also being the Boss of his business by the 90s....really helps i guess? Hehe. Thank you very much for tuning in, i appreciate it and hope it makes your day better!

You being my favorite Zepstorian I was curious of your thoughts on the Page and Plant collaboration? Also if possible would love to hear your take on this project and give some perspective and those awesome details that you always bring to your projects. :)
Who is that drummer and why no JPJ?
I am glad you brought up the Page and Plant topic because i did a 17-part documentary Post Led Zeppelin 1990s back in 2023 that i think you'll enjoy very much. From the Remasters Box Set to Jones not being called for Unledded, i talk about every single piece of the 90s puzzle. And yes, as you'd expect, Page and Planf 1994-1998 is covered in detail. Here's the playlist Link. Enjoy! ruclips.net/p/PLqsprcaJ7OIeU8x6T1tNoQ2MTtTnSACP8&si=AVbAUyBSGYzl9elD

Thank you for watching Fred! stay tuned for more!
@@JCM-LedZeppelin-Stories did you get the above reference? ;)
Unfortunately i didn't :(
@@JCM-LedZeppelin-Stories Ultravox song called Vienna. Good song too! :)
I checked them out. What a GREAT song. The synths and construction. Rhythm wiss it reminded me of Genesis on The Lamb maybe Fly On A Windshield. Ultravox feels like Sons of Gabriel.
So sad Bonham died in 1980!!
Yes, his passing is a tragedy like very few in rock and roll. The decade and the mastery of the 70s died with him.
Robert's reckless vocal style, no care for tech skill, killed his higher ranges and he often struggled to maintain a melodic flow within the bands' musical efforts. Robert thought he could scream and hit those high "strangled cat" vocals forever - but instead he severely damaged his vocal chords. He sang more technically as he matured into his career.
Remember Robert also had to deal with a lot of flying, A/C temperatures, P.R meetings and parties, satisfying the groupies, having a LOUD band behind him....it wasn't an easy life. I don't blame him you know? Thank you for watching, stay tuned for more!
Going for the bluesy ad lib, but abruptly redirected at the fourth note, ending up somewhere in Morocco.
No Chat, JCM?
Hi Fred! I was online chatting on the premiere, did you message me? I didn't see you there. Email me if you have a chance!
What caused the decline of Robert's voice in 1972/73?
Eric i talked about this on my Houses of The Holy series Episode 1 and 2 i believe. They were very busy.
Hi Jose, I hope you will make a video of the changes of Robert s voice.
1) The change in 1973: I think by then his sound was the best.
2) In 1975 is was not good, on the high level.
3) In 1976, 77 it was better.
4) The greatest change is after 1977 and the recording of Presence. His voice on In through the outdoor, was not as good we are used to. I saw them during the 1980 tour, that was really different compare to TSRTS, for me that was the peak of his voice, although in that year was a lot of change of his voice.
Rainson Zeppelin! Hey man whats happening? This is a great idea. I did cover the vocal shift on Episodes 1 and 2 of The Making of Houses of the Holy but, i can further explore the concept on a separate episode. Even Robert admits his technique really improved in the 80s. His post 2000 stuff is Brilliant.
Yes, that would be great! Yes I agree his solo work is good, then he doesnt try to sing like he used to do.
Do you also have a connection with them? It would be great that you can interview them! You deserve it!
I wish i had a connection to the camp. I don't know anyone there but if if happens i would be honored of course :)
So you're saying this band was really good. lol. YEP
Yep Zeppelin haha
And don’t eat any meatloaf - go vegan - and stay agile, skinny, happy and healthy. 🥣🥗🍱🥢🍺
Health is priority, but i do need steak from time to time, can't live without it haha. Thank you for watching, stay tuned for more!
