Literally TD, Tiers, incentives, and scare tactics surrounding AR WOULD NOT exist if they didnt have an issue getting trash orders delivered. Thats literally the whole purpose.
Of course they will occasionally throw you a bone to make you think you have special priority, to keep you on the hook, but when there's more than enough cherry pickers only taking the good orders, why on earth would they not give them rest of them to those who they know are willing to take them...being the high AR people.
I been doing this for 5 years. I know how the game is played. They arent about to make all those other offers even later. They give them to the suckers to get them done.

True, its a ship that can be rocked on the edge of an iceberg if they arent careful. Uber Eats and Grub hub are like hawks just waiting and waiting along many many apps that keep popping up. Everyone wants to get into the game. I worked for the telephone company and watched over the years as people took the customers away like comcast , verizon etc.. To many hands in the pie as there were no regulations on competition like the garbage trash company! Don’t care about acceptance rate, I work hard for the app, never had any negative marks, and I almost never cancel shifts. I’ll keep declining whatever I feel like and if that’s really a problem, it contradicts the point of being an independent contractor which also means DoorDash would be falsely advertising the dasher role. If they deactivate me, I’ll just get on the phone and have a conversation with corporate as to whether any of them would take a $2 order for 5 miles. That should get them pretty silent.

You're not understanding the concept of a rolling 100. Imagine you have 100 orders in paper form all stacked up, your new decline or accepted orders go on top of the stack, while the oldest declines or accepts fall from the bottom. If you accept 7 orders in a row, but the bottom 7 orders were all accepts, then nothing about your AR would change. If you accept 7 orders in a row, but the last 7 orders in your stack had 4 declines in it, then your AR would raise by that corresponding percentage.
Hope this clears it up for you.

Anyways, I recieved a lifelong back injury from that accident, but my Chiropractor said as long as I regularly work out with weights to keep the muscles in my back around my spine built up I won't have any problems.
So I have no problem carrying any kind of weight up flights of stairs like many old smaller buildings (2-6 stories tall) here in L.A., just have to carry it the proper way to build up muscle and not strain sinews/ligaments nor tweak any muscles either.

This change does very little in my opinion, and certainly isn’t enough. I happen to be one of those dashers that keeps his AR above 70%, and it’s become more and more frustrating and difficult to do so. Today was the worst day I have ever experienced dashing, getting slammed back to back with $2-$3 orders and grossly upside down orders which I had to decline. My AR went from 80% down to 69% in 3.5 hours (Platinum down to Silver). I stopped my scheduled dash which would have ended at 9pm. I was and still am so disgusted at Doordash’s AR system that I took the rest of the day off for a mental rest and to research some other gig apps. Metal, some classic rock, and classical are my thing. There’s a certain song that I would love to offer to DD as to how they’ve treated those who have gone above and beyond consistently, but the title wouldn’t be appropriate here. Thank you Faith No More.

Hi Zach! I saw this hours ago and meant to comment then but here we are haha XD. I'm glad I took down notes though and hopefully I remember what I was gonna say so here we go haha!
-First and foremost, I'm almost certain AR didn't used to be like this. If I recall correctly, a decline was just one decline but a stacked order (be it whatever amount of drop-offs) counted as multiple. That's to say it was the opposite of what is in question now.
-Hell yeah, I love letting the timer expire. I call this the "spite timer" and "spite-timering". I understand this is a double-edged sword as it just delays my next DD offer but that's why I multi-app (currently* on 10 apps) ['* = a little explanation]. BUT I feel better delaying that asshole's food a little bit longer. Hell, I wanna do it on "The Big Three" nowadays. I guess I gotta turn off auto-decline on Maxymo XD haha.
-You talked about the 2-button decline. I mean, I'm glad they did that but if you had DUH it's either a one-button decline or a no-button auto-decline. Switch to Android ya bum! Haha J/K 8P. Hell, back when they had the "4-button start Dash checklist", DUH auto-checked those and signed on for you automatically, too!
-Music. What's music? Haha. I have a couple of Pandora playlists and/or have a local independent FM radio station playing. I tried podcasts but the GPS interruptions were just too much, sadly.
-Tipbait link. Curious why you didn't just have a "clickable box" (forget the term) at the end of the video and/or a link in the description of your UE tipbait video. In my local UE Facebook group, there has been success due to that video!
-Lastly, this is my call to help. I rarely see Red Card orders anymore besides fucking Raising Cane's which is always dogshit. One could say that this is a blessing in disguise but I work at a specific grocery store and I see it all the time on IC but not on DD and have actually taken multiple IC orders from there. Not to mention, there's other grocery stores nearby. I understand this is probably due to the Red Card priority change but is there anything I can do? I'd probably take DD orders from my store no problem. Hell, recently one time, a friend of mine was like 2 miles away while I WAS IN THE PARKING LOT and she got the DD hit whereas I did not.
Keep up the good work, Zach!

When I'm driving, most of the time. I don't listen to any music. I find it exceedingly difficult to to hear anything from the phone that's app related. Either incoming offers, text messages, or turning directions. I also use text to speech when texting myself and the phone cant hear me over music. On top of this, i find the music distracting when I'm trying to find houses, most especially in the dark. So I just turn it off. I only turn it on when I do amazon and I have a lot of driving.

One positive thing I’ve noticed is that DoorDash does default to some kind of a tip, so customers have to put some effort in to do a low tip or no tip order. The AC rate games do need to stop though. I don’t work for charity so I’m not doing a 5 mile no tip order!

LOL, I do the same on 2 or 3 or 4 dollar orders, I will let it time out because they arent worth my finger to reach to the decline button! Yeah I dont worry much about the AR as I bounce between 7% to 30 or something. I just take orders that can make sense and station myself in places where I wouldnt normally get shot or mugged. I pulled 240 tonight and taught a new driver what to do when the food is stolen and showed him the question mark button.

So my question is will they now decrease the delivery count on these orders. Example 8 petsmart orders delivered will count as one delivery since ar now only counts as 1. I've seen videos they are raising dasher rewards to 150 delivery in 30 rolling days to get platinum status.
Wouldn't suprise me if they do. Doordash only makes changes to benefit them.

Out of all my beefs I have with DD, and believe me they are many, my two biggest ones at this point are:
The suppression and manipulation of the AR & CR numbers ( which I know for a fact is a way to try to control the drivers or persuade the drivers to take more garbage ), and the oftentimes insane distances they want you to travel. Case in point, yesterday they sent me three different double orders, all of which were around the ratio of 16 or 17 miles to make $18-$19. And it would have been way out of my zone, meaning I would have had to drive another 7 or 8 miles at least to get back to a place where I can get another order. In other words, it really would have been more like 24 + miles. RIDICULOUS!!

My theory when the tip takes more than 1 hour to update is because the customer removed it but it went under review with the Uber team and they decided to leave us the tip when everything seemed done well (delivered on time, photo taken, etc)

    • @cbrturbo72
      @cbrturbo72 2 месяца назад

It's usually because the trip requested time was when Uber started offering it to drivers. If you accepted 30 minutes later, it will look like the tip showed up 1 1/2 hours later. The new screens from on of the latest updates don't say trip requested anymore, I will pay attention to see if it actually shows the correct timeyou accepted it now.

I have been doing this for over four years. 15,000 plus delivers. Acceptance rate doesn't mean crap. Only concern yourself with the ratings that will get you deactivated. Those are: completion rate, on time delivery, and customer ratings. Unfortunately, you can not control the customer ratings regardless of the job you do. You can only hope that people will be honest in their assessment of your service. We have all fallen victim to the a-hole deceitful customer.

It’s become not worth doing anymore. I say this after 7 years, in my market with this new 3 tier program the offers are so horrible there’s not even a way to get AR up! Unless I’m willing to take 20-31 mile trips for $7-12… I see A LOT of upside down orders. I would have to take these to get my ar up. It use to be very easy to keep a 70 AR I did it first 3 years of dashing. Without effort because I took reasonable offers miles to money ratio I never was greedy. If it made sense I took it. Easy… but the past couple years this has become increasingly harder to do. Now I can’t get my AR up to 30. And last night was the first time I couldn’t get a schedule in 7 years. Our markets are over saturated and I believe it’s people working illegally!

And for the dasher rewards program platinum status. DoorDash always has a way to twist things to feel like it’s good for the driver. It’s really not. Haha. Just like they try to convince us that will get better tips when they send us multiple orders! It’s the same person. The customer only tips on one of the two orders. At least that’s my experience.
