Hey Jackson! I make my own cat toys! I recycle old toys, mostly wands to give more lead, some are so short, some ends just get demolished, cheap junk... I have even used hollow metal poles with a plastic carrier wand stuffed in it. That way it isn't yanking out my cats claws as I try to pull it back. We all have known that one cat that just does not let go. The interior rod/main toy will pop out before I pull too hard on their claw. When that happens I just reset it so its firm again and off to the races for more.
yknow I've had a lot of interest in this really nifty wand toy, that also interests me cos its easier to put away - its on this store called Jason Galaxy or something. dunno, you might've heard of him. (JK lol but that wand toy is very popular in my house.) As a serious answer, those plastic spring toys! They're the favorite fetch toy and 3 out of 4 of my cats love them. The one that doesn't is the one that doesn't play fetch haha. His toys have to jingle or crinkle or squeak or they don't count as toys to him.
@@monsterhits9809 For me, it's just trial and error, asking simple questions like how can I make this better and finding the skills and resources to do so. For wand style toys, learn some braiding/weaving techniques, learn to work things into the braid/weave, learn some sewing to sew the toys up. I mean its a toy, it doesn't have to look pretty, as long as the cats like it that's all that matters.
All three of mine run in at the sound of the crumble. The race for the first owner of the ball is my favorite! They all take turns and it's the #1 in our house too!
Remember cutting out coupons, when we got the Sunday paper? That was one of my cat's favorite activity because he'd get the pages that I didn't use crumpled up.
@@kelly-bo-belly crisp plastic, like the ring around B&J ice cream...chomp chomp...they like that ring almost as much as I like the ice cream, lol. Fee fi fo felly, Kelly! (I love your name!)
We used to store out cats' toys in a coffee can with dried catnip. When it was time to take one out, we brushed off most of the cat nip and played with the cats. It was like giving them brand new toys. We rotated their toys so they always had some smelling of catnip. Of course, they did get new toys too.
Over the years, all of my many cats would walk straight past any toy I paid big bucks for, but they always made a bee line for an empty cardboard box or paper grocery sack. They'd entertain themselves for hours! Oh and of course catnip. They all loved catnip.
Here's a free toy that has never gone amiss: a catnip sock. Take an old cotton gym sock (no holes with some strength in it still!) and fill it generously with catnip. Knot the ankle and toss it to a cat. They will go nuts and every time you want it to "reactivate" you rub it a little. Untie the knot, get rid of old nip, and wash it when it gets gross. Repeat until the day the sock looks like it's going to rip and get a new sock.
Another cat-proof/shredproof homemade toy: I cut the back pockets out of an old pair of jeans, stuff it with 'nip and sew it securely closed. It's tough as nails and lasts forever, but they do tend to get lost under the sofa.
My 6 year old boy, Moses, went into heart failure 3 days ago. He's at home on heart meds, but tomorrow we go back to the vets and I'm bracing myself -- he's not eating or moving. I've spent all weekend next to him and talking to him. Life can be so sh/t! He's only 6! He deserves a life of love, growing old and more. He's my family,my history present and future. I all ready have a list of his Christmas toys this year. Please pray for him. ❤
Please, if you have a cat/cats, follow the warning to cut the ribbons and strings off toys. My cat lost his life to an unseen ingested thread getting caught in his intestines and we spent a small fortune trying to save him but it wasn’t enough and we feel guilty and miss him every day 😔
I agree, we had one who swallowed a string, and 3k later he survived, but he lost his life a couple of years later (earlier than I think he would have). We also no longer get toys if the eyes are plastic. We had one baby just chew the mouse up and the plastic eye got stuck in his stomach. Thankfully the vets were able to flush it out but unless the eyes are material we never buy toys with small plastic pieces.
@@greenie2390 yes good point about the eyes as well! I’m sorry for your loss but I’m glad you got a bit more time with your fur baby. Our boy was only a year old so there was a lot of hope he would pull through and have the rest of his life to live… but after two surgeries to try to repair the damage, being in intensive care for a week with round the clock care, he suffered heart failure and couldn’t be revived. It cost us 10 grand but I would have paid more if it could have saved him. I’m still grieving and still paying off the debt. Wish I could have one last cuddle. I’m very cautious about toys with my other pets now. Too many cheaply made products in an unregulated industry, we as “owners” need to be more vigilant unfortunately. Hate that we had to learn the hard way and now I always warn people.
I agree cats can hurt themselves in such stupid ways. My childhood cat almost ripped off her entire leg because she got stuck in the cat door. It was brutal
I'm convinced those cat dancer toys were invented by a guitar player. Every time my husband changes his strings, all 3 of our cats are immediately drawn in.
Oh my the "these will end up under your fridge anyway" Cal is constantly putting his favourite mouse under the fridge, then spending hours laying in front of the fridge looking upside-down longingly under the fridge. Yes we need more of these vids. And more time of the cat tester(s)
I bought my cat the flopping fish cat toy from Amazon. She was traumatized by it!!! She would not enter the room if she saw it. She would creep around the house looking to make sure it was gone. Love their return policy 😊
The "Flippity Fish" became something of a running gag here. None of our cats ever really played with it. One jumped it occasionally, but only if it was under a rug or a blanket. Most useless cat toy ever, and quite expensive at the time.
My cats would be the same 😂 that's why I never bothered to buy them one. I once bought a mouse that is just a bit bigger than the normal toy mice and filled with a squeaker. My Motte started playing with it, and at one point it squeaked. She got startled pretty badly and her sister who was just watching (she is also a rather nervous cat generally) would not come into the living room if the squeaky mouse was out in the open for weeks.
Can't wait!! I systemically read the reviews and if even only one person wrote it's not sturdy enough, I won't buy. My fierce boy bites his toys quite violently when he plays and I'm not taking any risks. Thank you for everything, Jackson Galaxy!!
I do the same for scratchposts, as I've got a big, chunky half ginger boy who will break a weak one within the first go. Ones wrapped in cardboard make me fume especially when they don't say that is what it is made with. They're suitable for tiny kittens only! Even my tiny 3kg gal broke one of those:/ So the moment a review says "It broke", I'm out. But trying to find a decent stong one with good height to replace our old one is not an easy task.
Oh man, I fostered 3 little kittens (bottle babies, from ~10-14 days old) and the teensiest of the kittens-Tabs-grew up to be a total monster of a cat as an adult! We (my partner at the time and I) fostered failed on the two brothers of the trio and added them to our little family (along with my senior cat). We nicknamed him the “little wildcat/wildcat boy” and here are a few examples why 😂 : > He fully gulped down a 4”-6” feather off a toy during a play session when he was ~5-6 weeks old > He literally *ate* a toy that consisted of a rectangular strip of rabbit leather with fur on both sides made to look like a rat (~4” body, ~3” leather tail). This was over the course of a few different attempts at us trying to hide the toy so that he could only play with it while we were supervising-BUT HE KEPT FINDING IT (both he and his brother were excellent at getting to the toys that had been put up-Tabs was *especially* adept at it though) > He chewed basically every possible inch of the ribbed plastic tubing we put around all the cords…there was at least 20’ of tubing. We also made a lot of toys/enrichment items out of cardboard to help encourage safer options > The cats all ate wet/raw food meals, but the boys were also given a small amount of “kibble” (made of air-dried chunks of meat) at night with their dinner that we would hide in little mouse dispenser ball toys that were then hidden around the house where the boys stayed until my senior cat was done eating. We played with the cats every day *at least* once before dinner to the point of exhaustion, but the boys-especially Tabs-often still had energy for another ~20-30 minutes once the house was dark. BUT THEN HE ATE THE FABRIC “MOUSE” PART OF ALL THE TOYS > His desire to chew was so intense we had to get creative with solutions. Venison rawhide-free chew sticks and willow sticks scented with silvervine were somewhat popular, but dried turkey tendons (sold for DOGS mind you) were the real jackpot; however, we quickly discovered that we could not have them in the house because he WOULD find them and he WOULD try to scarf them down as quickly as possible (and he WOULD begin to choke 🤦🏻♀️) > The younger boys were only allowed to go outside on the upper deck over the backyard during daylight hours unless they were actively supervised and/or leashed-we lived on the edge of the woods and were unable to build a catio on the house, so this was best for everyone’s safety. It was about an 8’x10’ space, and yet he still managed to catch and kill a bird from that deck in the middle of the day 😳 > He was obsessed with digging in planters. We tried Jackson’s recommendation of putting volcanic rocks over the soil and, not only was he undeterred, but he found it to be a delightful game! 🙃 He loooved to pull rocks out one at a time and then bat them all over the house. We gave him other little balls instead but nothing quite beat those damn rocks 😂 > To satisfy his drive to dig, my ex put together a “dig box” for him. It was a long wooden planter with cat-safe soil, live catnip, and live spider plants. This worked quite well, though he did chew the crap out of the hardy spider plants (neither he nor his brother have any interest in catnip) and it was far too messy to be kept indoors which limited its use > Even from a young age he was quite intimidating to play with whenever he would really shift into his hunting mode! He became incredibly skilled at lying in wait for his “prey”, perfect still, hidden under or in thing-that prey could be anything from his brother to a person walking by 😅 (he was always gentle though-no claws) • • • Tabs (and his brother) live with my ex now…it absolutely destroys me-they were/are my little babies after all-but the decision for my ex to take them was what was best for the cats. Despite the heart ache, I would trade that experience for the world! It was so amazing and fun to watch their personalities develop, and to witness their evolution from wiggly grub to clumsy kitten to gangly teen to gorgeous grown-man-cat ❤
@@sillysasuages We have a couple of wall-mounted scratching posts. I don't know what the core is made of, but they've held up well to climbing and I love how stable they are and that my cats like to climb onto the top. They're by a brand called Fukumaru. I've bought more for other people and definitely recommend, I'd be surprised to see one break!
My kitty swallowed a string tail from a toy mouse and yes $1400 later we’re thankful he’s still with us, it had gotten all twisted in his intestines. Since then I’ve been very picky about his toys so thank you for doing these kinds of videos
The cat dancer toy is a classic! Back in the 90s, my cat became obsessed, and would go after it until he litereally fell down panting. This was alarmingtosee, so I had to ration the toy. His brother, a huge gray cat, loved the rustle of bills, and would steal any paper money he could get. So, we'd ball up dollar bills and he would run off with them. He was indoor only, so we got the money back.
All three of mine love the cat dancer! I always say it looks like it was designed by a stoner who was looking to play with his cat and all he could find was a guitar string and a rolling paper. 🤣 But mine do go nuts for it. I keep three in various parts of the house
My cats’ number one toys are those plastic springs. You can get a pack of 60 for about 7.00. They chase those all over the house. They absolutely love them.
i had to rebuy these things because they get lost after a week. last week i had to move my washmashine and there were all of the springs. my cats were in heaven
I have adopted a rescue kitty from shelter and for first few weeks she didn't play with any toys. Now the ball tower is here absolute favourite. The only drawback is that sometimes she manages to dislodge balls from the track, chases them all over the house and after loosing them under the furniture comes back to me to complain about it. Luckily I have a box full of spares. 😊
When my current pet was still just a stray cat that I was feeding and bringing in from the cold as much as I could (no pets allowed in my apartment a the time), I got that pyramid ball toy. And without exaggeration, Thunder played with that thing HARD for 45 minutes straight. When I say hard, I mean, he was at full on 100% play mode. He would spin a ball and then run around the pyramid over and over again following it. And he just kept doing it. After the original 45 minutes, he finally stopped to eat, and then went back for another 15-20 minutes. The next day when he came in again, he went back for another 20 minutes. He kept that up for at least a week, although he figured out he didn't have to chase the balls. Even now 6 years later, he still will occasionally go back to it. The only toy that has come close to matching that on the first day are the simple spring toys. Thunder went absolutely nuts for them and still does 4 years after his first time with them. Although like the pyramid, what was an hour of play at a time is now just a few minutes.
My old gal -bless her soul - would lay next to the ring and with one paw push at a ball and watch it go around. When it made it around and hit her paw then she would smack it again and watch it go around again. All this without having to expend any energy at all. I miss her.
My niece's cat loses all the toys under the couch so one of the niece's pet chores is to use the broom handle to pull them all back out and put them in the basket. The kid has a responsibility and the cat gets a whole basket of forgotten toys once a week. Plus it's a great bonding point for them both as the cat supervises her work. Wins all around!
OMG my little kittens LOVE that 3 layer ball toy thingy. My older cats couldn't possibly care less about it. I also do the thing with rubbing the cheap mice toys in catnip - that's a big hit at my house. Thanks for the reviews!
Thank you for this video! I just placed an order with you because you revealed SO MANY THINGS I didn't realize about cat toys. My girl Phoebe hasn't been too interested in toys, and that's probably because I bought the wrong ones in the past! She's a former stray who meowed at our back door during the pandemic...and as I went to feed her, she slipped into our house and never left. We believe she was abandoned by a previous owner because she was already litter trained and knew the sounds of imminent food (fridge door, can opener). So now I try to treat her extra-specially...she's a love bug and deserves it!
Casper is a champion co-star! I hope he got compensated well for his participation in this video. BTW: Plastic ping pong balls are the favorite toy of my furry companion, Jackie Blue. Get a batch of 6 green ones at the grocery store for under $3. Put them in the cat toy box, and they're all gone and hidden within a few days. One real ping pong ball, Jackie hit it so hard that it put a permanent dent in it. In a ping pong ball! I have no idea where they all are, now. Including the dented one. Thanks!
I think it's because those ping pong balls move blazingly FAST! Across hardwood floors OR carpet. I gave Jackie Blue two new ones the other day, and they're already gone.
I have a ...kinda.. sword shaped cleaning device with microfibre pull over mops. Get one and swipe under the sofa and under any other low spaces 😂 TA DAA! Thats what i do when i need 50 balls on a sunday
I tried to put on a shoe yesterday morning. Found two green ping pong balls stuck into the toe of one of them. So THAT'S where they went! Gotta check my shoes more often, I guess.
Favorite toys in our house: - plastic springs. they come in packs of 10 and my girl cat chases and carries them all around the house, and would play fetch with them in our last place (not trained, she did this on her own). They do end up behind and under things so we probably have about 50 floating around, which is finally enough to always have 1 or 2 findable. - moose mouse. This is basically a stuffed fabric ball with a tail and some ears and antlers. My boy cat LOVES this toy. it's his buddy. - fishing rod with fluorescent worm. Boy cat will crouch by this toy and meow all the time for it. He loves it and loves carrying it off, dragging the rod with the worm firmly in his mouth. Girl cat also loves playing with it on her back when he's worn himself out. I found a rod that has magnet-attached objects, so we'll see if that makes things even better when they can "catch" the toy. - crunched up packing paper. The thin, long brown stuff that comes in Chewy boxes. My cats will run across the house to dive into it and crinkle it. They love making it flat again and hiding under it to surprise each other. - the "cement mixer" - it's a set of connected pieces of felt and fuzzy fabric that can be snapped together into a ball with a hole at each end. My cats love to run through it, take naps in it, wiggle around in it, and play with toys in it. It was expensive, but it has been a joy for our family and is still just as sturdy as when we got it. It also collapses into a much smaller chunk of fabric for storage, but we've never done that because they love it.
I appreciate the honest reviews. All that said, please support Jackson and/or your local mom-and-pop shop. You may spend more, but that will come back to you 😉! Buy less, buy quality, please!
I have to laugh, I just started watching your video, and when the “doorbell” sound effect sounded, my two cats went on high alert, and ran for their safe spots 🙀
My cat’s favorite toy EVER are those cheap, plastic spring toys. I bought a bag of like 60 of them on Amazon for around $6 and I’ve never seen them love a toy so much! I loved this review and it was helpful to see how Casper reacted to the toys 😃
I just love you, Jackson!!! I watched this episode recently for the first time. I was very impressed! I'm a cat Mom of 2 indoor only cats and 6 feral cats and 2 strays. I have learned soooo much about feral cats and cats in general. I have TNR all of my feral cats. I feed them daily. The chosen to live under my home . Mamma cats had 2 litters before I was able to do TNR. I'm so grateful I got them all! Keep up the great cat work, Jackson!
I came here to see if anyone mentioned the kitty springs! My kitties love them, they play fetch with them, complete with bringing it back and expecting you to throw it. They carry them around the house vocalizing. They have a blast with the springs 😂
I have a Siamese cat so she prefers her interactive toys. Her hands down fav is her Jackson galaxy butterfly wand toy. She loves it. She also loves feathers so I have some plain raw feathers. Also I have some mouse toys made from deer skin and rabbit skin and buffalo skin that she loves. They leave the fur on so she can pick them up in her mouth. She especially loves the ones with rabbit skin long tails. I toss them for her. I put them on a wand and drag them. I prefer if she rips anything to shreds, which she often does with toys, that it be something like she would eat in the wild so it doesn’t mess up her GI track
My kitty, skittles, enjoys the top off of a prescription pill container, a black cap lid off of a salad dressing bottle, and a orange plastic golf ball. I crocheted a ball and left a tail of about 6 inches. He plays with it a lot, but not everyday. This is a great video, thank you Jackson.
Casper looks just like my cat Sophia. I got her from a shelter and shes the most confident cat I've ever had. She literally wouldn't let my daughter interact with any other cat there. She made sure we took her home!
The yellow banana catnip toy is loved and adored - not only by my cats, but I send them to my friends who own cats - and they love them too! Best catnip toy hands down.
By far, my cats' favorite non-interactive toys are those plastic springs. We must have 20 of them. Once a day I go through the house rescuing them from under furniture and doorways, put them back in the toybox. By the next day, they're all gone again.
Same with my 2 cats! I bought a bag of 60 I think and my cats cannot get enough. I also have to dig them out from underneath everything which can be a bit annoying but it’s totally worth it when I see how much they enjoy them.
Loved the review! I buy toys and my two cats will have nothing to do with the toys.... I did buy one of those collapsible cat tubes, and they love playing in the tube. If I can't find one of them, I check the cat tube. Sure enough... Kitty is fast asleep in the cat tube! Thank you for sharing. This has given me some cat toy ideas...
Hahaha, after reading your comment, I know what toys that cats will like that I should sell on Amazon. I am now collecting suggestions from cat owners and serving you. Thank you!
I spent $1.25+ tax on my first puzzle toy. It was an ice cube tray. My three cats just love looking for their Temptation treats in it. Sometime I even surprise them with bits of rotisserie chicken.
Be careful of temptations they're spicy they give the urine in a bad smell it may lead to kidney disease if you want to keep doing temptations add a little cranberry juice to the drinking water for them
You’re the best! I ordered 2 bananas and the puzzle and the cat dancer…. and my babies LOVE them!!!!! Oh, and the box they came in too 🤣. Thanks Jackson ❤
Most played with toy is our Catit Super Circuit a favourite of Fluffy, Otto and Oscar. Next is a plastic mouse that has a friction engine. Kira's favourite. It disappeared for a long time then reappeared again. Kira carries it around. Oscar (he was our former stray/semi-feral we caught just over a year ago) throws it up in the air and pounces on it. Shadow and Shady love the flappy fish. Shady and Oscar like the twin tiger tail teaser. Trouble is, they both catch one tail each and have a tug of war with it. Lucky loves the laser pen as do all the cats. They all love their cat tree. Looking forward to Christmas to see them playing with their new toys. Merry Christmas to you and yours Jackson from me, my son and our 9 lovely cats 🐈🎅🎄❄
I've had at least 2 cat dancers in my homes for about 15 years now. I don't feel bad about replacing them when they're worn for the price they are either! Hands down the best one
3:36 also even worse, when your cat responds way too much to catnip. I keep anything with catnip away from my cat. She goes nuts around it and looks insanely wide eyed, will swipe at me if I get near her and draw blood. Whats funny about he too is she has a single level ball track that I keep on the carpet and never put away, shes a senior cat now and still walks up to it and hits it a few times every so often.
I've had to rehome my cats this weekend and I'm so sad. But the transfer was so surprising! One of the two, who was always super timid, as soon as people were over he was hiding (but super happy and relaxed when it was just me) basically walked out of his transport box and started exploring, despite 4 people watching him. He was walking around tail up and vibrating, super happy, I've never seen him that confident and excited before. I'm so glad I caught it on video. It helps me feel less horrible about having to rehome my babies 😢
I’m so glad you put the cat dancer on here! It’s $3 at my local (expensive) pet store and I’ve never met a cat that didn’t loose their minds over it! (Even the elderly and chonky chonks!)
The box is exciting, toys sometimes, fluffy dusting wands gently brushing -always turns into a ferocious kick fight & he loves it. Me too, as then he has self playtime for 5+ minutes. He will jump till tired with that duster wand. Thanks J, for your wise advice.
Hello, what kind of box is it? I want to sell some on Amazon. It is difficult to find toys that cats like on Amazon. The characteristics are safe and healthy.
I have a cat ball tower because one of my cats is very stubborn about ending play time. Even when she's completely exhausted and doesn't have the energy to jump or run or swat, she wants to keep playing. So she will flop next to something she can just bat at herself. So I got her something she can lay beside and bat when she's in that 'I swear I'm not tired!' stage.
Love the review of those grass balls! I was thinking of getting some to help my cats with territorial rubbing and marking, but I wasn't too sure about the ingredients. Will try to find some with a slightly more descriptive ingredients list than "etc".
My Abby is a hunter. She loves the simple mice with natural fiber tails. I see her carrying them around the house, very proud of herself. When there aren't mice to catch these keep her happy.
I have four kittens this Christmas or teenagers I should say they’re 4 1/2 months old. I got them a cardboard ice cream truck. They can go through the windshield, their side windows but the coolest part is the center of the whole truck is a ball pit and the balls have catnip in them so I’m pretty excited. I think it might last maybe two days but I don’t care the entertainment they’ll get from it is so worth it.
Hahaha, it’s incredible that you have so many cats. If you want to buy some toys for your cats, please tell me and I will help you choose safe and healthy products.
Agree with the little ribbon removal - this type of ribbon has edges which when taut is also sharp enough to cut paper - and it sheds lengthways and can cut gums if the cat slides it through their mouth - just wanted to add that 😉. Loved the shopping spree though - thanks for the review on the toys!
I just got a kitten named Cinder and one of the best things I got here were practice golf balls...small woofle balls. I can play with her and she runs and plays with it when I throw it and sometime she plays by herself. I also got her a fish toy that she somes picks up and runs in and out of the doom with it in her mouth. Next I'm going to make catnip spray and I'll try and teach her to play fetch. Some of these toys look like fun.
I never thought to pick up the toys but then again I have 9 beautiful monsters. lol they do end up under the fridge! lol the fav toys we have are springs! No feathers and stuff that come off springs are great. Thank you for the review!
I always buy Yeeeow toys for my cats. I bought them more for Christmas and hid them in the bottom of a basket.......you guessed it....within minutes my female cat was upside down in the basket trying to dig them out!! The best toys ever! 🤣
My cats have learned and will specifically open any Chewy box that comes into our house. Other boxes? Ignored. Chewy boxes? Have to make sure I don't let them get ahold of the dry food that often comes inside them.
if your cat only eats wet food then it is getting enough water through the food. If your cat also eats dry food, then it needs extra water. It's better to leave out the dry food. But also with wet food offer water even if it don't touch it.
My girl loves to see ice cubes floating in her water. She drinks a lot when she sees them, so whenever she heads for her water bowls, I toss some in. She plays a little first, then drinks. She's getting plenty of water, aside from her one pouch a day wet food, and of course her usual dry food 😺
Mine doesn't either, but he eats exclusively wet food. I had 3 cats in a row have kidney failure (that's what you get when you adopt geriatric cats) and had 2 fountains going at all times, but my current can't be bothered with them. Freaked me out, but he's healthy, so all good. If he starts drinking water that will be a sign to take him to the vet.
The cat dancers from your store are GOOD! Our kitties adore them! We put one near our computer zone to distract them. Our cats also love the cat wheel and their kitnip toys!
I actually bought that five-mouse set for my cat Mischief and he tore them apart lol. I usually buy his toys from Chewy or from your website. He absolutely loves the floppy fishes as well as the kickers. Haven't tried the Yeow toys though. That will be on my list for him to try.
I just realized watching Casper with the puzzle toy, that only filling a couple of the slots, not ALL the slots, makes it a more challenging and longer captivating interest than how I was filling every single dish on it. Basically just giving them a kitty treat buffet. Either way it's totally empty by the next day but that way is also better portion control too probably. XD
I've bought so many toys for my cat but she always goes back to the cutoff from a shoe insole. A tiny bit of foam she has endless fun with while ignoring well thought out and researched purchases of toys I endlessly make to occupy her.
I had a cat who didn't like catnip at all but loved mint. Then again she also didn't think that she was a cat. She didn't really like other cats or dogs. She mainly thought she was a human. She loved to sit at the table with me while I was eating. She was very set in her ways and really liked a routine everyday.
I just bought a wire toy for Mia my rescue (sent you a picture via the website) and she loves it. Also have the puzzel and banana and catnip rolls. Even with 4 month the puzzle was easy peasy.
Great reviews, thanks Jackson! We don't use the gun because my kitty doesn't care for the noise, so I just throw them to her or for her to chase. She could be an Olympian the way she spikes them if she's on our foot board of our bed. She will leap into the air from the floor to catch them. The pom poms were a surprise she loves them so much. So I bought another pack of 80. They are everywhere! Lol, half went under the door into a utility closet, lol, under our bed, under our dresser, couch, tv stand, lol, etc will keep getting them as long as she loves them.
I think you should review bottle tops. They are my cats' faves, surpassed only by Easter eggs, tree ornaments, and the ever-forbidden yet somehow omnipresent twist ties. More seriously, I'd love your review of scratchers. I have one cat who seems completely uninterested in any scratcher except the living room rug (and I have tried a flat one in his favorite spot; he just moved the scratcher) and one very compliant kitty who will scratch anything I put down for him. I recently regretted one of those cardboard things. I don't know what I thought was going to happen when claws met corrugated paper but, somehow, I was surprised at the mess.
In all seriousness though, I would love a video on common household products cats tend to like! Which ones are safe, which ones are not, and what type of enrichment cats get out of each one (why they like it).
Hello, if your cat scratching board is made of paper, it is easy to be damaged. I recently saw a cat scratching cloth on Amazon that can be attached anywhere. You should like it.
My cat’s favorite toy is the springs! I can’t wait to hear what Jackson Galaxy says! I’m Christmas shopping and want to get my kitty something he’ll love!🐈⬛
same, i purchased 3 of those 20+ or 30+ springs. she will play with them for hours and then horde them in one of her hideaways. the other two just look on as she goes nuts for the springs. 😂
Careful with the plain plastic ones. Gave my boy 3 corneal ulcers and/or abrasions until I figured out what was causing them. He'd go so hard playing he'd slide into the wall with them and since a smooshie faced Persian it was a danger waiting to happen. He only gets the ones wrapped in felt now and no more eye injuries since switching!
Had to buy my tuxedo the 70 pack because he kept losing his! The only toy he never got sick of - the one toys Id always recommend to other cat people 😄
hey! i randomly got recommended this video by youtube and im glad i did :] i used to watch your show when i was a kid! im 26 now and seeing your passion for cats still makes me smile!
Excellent video, very informative! I would love to see you review the flopping fish from Potaroma, mostly because my cat loves those things and I want to see more videos of cats playing with them 😻
My sister gave me a flipper for the girls and I tucked a small bag of catnip inside it. They love that thing. Right now it needs to be recharged. No batteries, a charging cable.
My cats are terrified of the flopping fish! I even put some catnip and smelly treats inside, but they won't go near it. Even when it's turned off, they won't play with it because they are always afraid that it will "jump to life" when they least expect it.
One of my cats absolute faves is just a simple ping pong ball. He loves how fast it moves when I kick it and the way it bounces around the house so unpredictably.
Sir, my 4-month-old kitten won't let me sit. Anytime I sit, he takes the attacking position and bites my hand, toes/ankle. He comes in a more energised and aggressive mood if I stand and go away. Please help. Edit: I play with him. I took him outside, too. But I need the rest, too. My cat won't let me rest.
I have the exact same problem and yes, people have also told me to play with it. Do you know if your baby was properly socialized with it's mama and siblings ?
So glad you mentioned boxes in the beginning...our cats love them! We build cat castles and cut out doors, windows & traps , etc. We toss them after they get bored or destroy them and make more, lol. They also love large paper bags (we cut the handles, if they have any) We do buy various toys but cardboard boxes seem to be their favorite. Plus, our siblings are heavy chewers and the boxes are their favorite ~ thankfully! They did chew the handle in half on our dog's leash before we realized they were chewers 🤷🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️😂
I wish my cats were like yours! Both of my cats suffer from pika and so they love ripping up any card board that's not stored safely from their sight 😂
There’s nothing that makes me more frustrated than when I see cat toys sold with elastic strings and feathers etc. because if your cat is anything like my four, they possibly will eat it! Foreign body surgeries are $2000-$5000 dollars. Be careful with your cat toys ❤️😻 (they do make wands now without the elastic bands and they’re very durable!)
Caspers waaay too high to test the remaining toys 😂😹. Mine love the Yeeooww bananas or rainbows. But are so sneaky they suck on the ends to soften it up, a few strategic chews voila!! the catnip pours out and five bodies are rolling in it😂
If you liked this one... call out products below for our next review video!
@midnightqueen3332 Would you mind sharing some homemade cat toys ideas, please? The ones I've attempted have failed.
yknow I've had a lot of interest in this really nifty wand toy, that also interests me cos its easier to put away - its on this store called Jason Galaxy or something. dunno, you might've heard of him.
Sure mate...
My cats fave toy is the balled up receipt from the purchase😹
And the box it came in.
And the plastic bag. I have to get the bag picked up ASAP every time. They will be clawing to get into the bag before I can even get their toys out.
@@kelly-bo-belly crisp plastic, like the ring around B&J ice cream...chomp chomp...they like that ring almost as much as I like the ice cream, lol. Fee fi fo felly, Kelly! (I love your name!)
Ive owned a few cats and have found that an old shoestring tied to a stick is hands down the best cat toy ever.
Literally. I have a shoe string tied to a wooden dowel. Better than any toys I've bought them and it's outlasted everything else
I discovered this with a silk bathrobe tie...
That’s because you are doing it. You are their favourite cat toy 😆
FACTS! i made this discovery months ago when i took out some shoestrings and my cat was mesmerized instantly😂
My cats love an old fishing pole casting a little mouse or other toy down the hall.
We used to store out cats' toys in a coffee can with dried catnip. When it was time to take one out, we brushed off most of the cat nip and played with the cats. It was like giving them brand new toys. We rotated their toys so they always had some smelling of catnip. Of course, they did get new toys too.
This is genius ❤
Brilliant! I so want to try this.
On behalf of our two cats, thanks for the tip!
I do this too! It gives them variety!
Such a great idea!
Over the years, all of my many cats would walk straight past any toy I paid big bucks for, but they always made a bee line for an empty cardboard box or paper grocery sack. They'd entertain themselves for hours! Oh and of course catnip. They all loved catnip.
You should get them those catnip infused brown paper bags :)
@@mandypdx can not find them at all
Yep we have boxes all over house.
Facts! And those matatabi sticks
哈哈哈,那可以剩下很多的钱,你可以把你想要的猫咪玩具给我说一下,我帮你找一下
One of my cat's favorite toys is the catnip sock. She loves that thing way more than the 100 store bought toys she has.😂
This is amazing!
Great video

My 6 year old boy, Moses, went into heart failure 3 days ago. He's at home on heart meds, but tomorrow we go back to the vets and I'm bracing myself -- he's not eating or moving. I've spent all weekend next to him and talking to him. Life can be so sh/t! He's only 6! He deserves a life of love, growing old and more. He's my family,my history present and future. I all ready have a list of his Christmas toys this year. Please pray for him. ❤
🙏 🙏 🙏 🙏
May god protect moses I can’t imagine how you feel
All my love to Moses ❤❤❤❤❤
Praying for you both 🙏
Hope he will be well soon! ❤ from The Netherlands 🙏🙏🙏
Best cat toy from Amazon? The Amazon BOX. My cats LOVE the box.😂
I agree, they love boxes!
Don't guilt yourself. I know EXACTLY where you are coming from. 😢❤❤❤
😢I'm so sorry! I will do that!
My cat puts all of her toys in boxes like an empty 24 or 12 pack of soda box😅
Byrd plays hide-and-seek under the deep freezer with his toys... And then whines to us that he can't get it back out when he pushes it too far.
Just lost my baby Junebug two days ago and watching these videos is bringing me so much comfort. Thank you cat Dad!
💜⚘
So sorry for your loss! 💔
aww junebug thats such a cute name
Sorry to hear about your loss. ❤
哦,我太想安慰你了,因为我也有相同的情况,所以我现在自己找对猫咪安全的玩具,准备自己开个店铺卖猫咪真正喜欢的玩具,谢谢猫咪让我们相遇
They're quite noisy aren't they? Our cats didn't really take to it.
@@juliahill7732 Yes, they are, I guess that is the main reason why cats are scared of them.
My cats destroyed it in less than 20 minutes.
Can't wait!! I systemically read the reviews and if even only one person wrote it's not sturdy enough, I won't buy. My fierce boy bites his toys quite violently when he plays and I'm not taking any risks. Thank you for everything, Jackson Galaxy!!
This is my girl too. With wands, we stick with long ribbon ones. She loves those best anyway, and I'm not worried about her destroying it.
We nicknamed him the “little wildcat/wildcat boy” and here are a few examples why 😂 :
> He fully gulped down a 4”-6” feather off a toy during a play session when he was ~5-6 weeks old
> He literally *ate* a toy that consisted of a rectangular strip of rabbit leather with fur on both sides made to look like a rat (~4” body, ~3” leather tail). This was over the course of a few different attempts at us trying to hide the toy so that he could only play with it while we were supervising-BUT HE KEPT FINDING IT (both he and his brother were excellent at getting to the toys that had been put up-Tabs was *especially* adept at it though)
> He chewed basically every possible inch of the ribbed plastic tubing we put around all the cords…there was at least 20’ of tubing. We also made a lot of toys/enrichment items out of cardboard to help encourage safer options
> The cats all ate wet/raw food meals, but the boys were also given a small amount of “kibble” (made of air-dried chunks of meat) at night with their dinner that we would hide in little mouse dispenser ball toys that were then hidden around the house where the boys stayed until my senior cat was done eating. We played with the cats every day *at least* once before dinner to the point of exhaustion, but the boys-especially Tabs-often still had energy for another ~20-30 minutes once the house was dark. BUT THEN HE ATE THE FABRIC “MOUSE” PART OF ALL THE TOYS
> His desire to chew was so intense we had to get creative with solutions. Venison rawhide-free chew sticks and willow sticks scented with silvervine were somewhat popular, but dried turkey tendons (sold for DOGS mind you) were the real jackpot; however, we quickly discovered that we could not have them in the house because he WOULD find them and he WOULD try to scarf them down as quickly as possible (and he WOULD begin to choke 🤦🏻♀️)
> The younger boys were only allowed to go outside on the upper deck over the backyard during daylight hours unless they were actively supervised and/or leashed-we lived on the edge of the woods and were unable to build a catio on the house, so this was best for everyone’s safety. It was about an 8’x10’ space, and yet he still managed to catch and kill a bird from that deck in the middle of the day 😳
> He was obsessed with digging in planters. We tried Jackson’s recommendation of putting volcanic rocks over the soil and, not only was he undeterred, but he found it to be a delightful game! 🙃 He loooved to pull rocks out one at a time and then bat them all over the house. We gave him other little balls instead but nothing quite beat those damn rocks 😂
> To satisfy his drive to dig, my ex put together a “dig box” for him. It was a long wooden planter with cat-safe soil, live catnip, and live spider plants. This worked quite well, though he did chew the crap out of the hardy spider plants (neither he nor his brother have any interest in catnip) and it was far too messy to be kept indoors which limited its use
> Even from a young age he was quite intimidating to play with whenever he would really shift into his hunting mode! He became incredibly skilled at lying in wait for his “prey”, perfect still, hidden under or in thing-that prey could be anything from his brother to a person walking by 😅 (he was always gentle though-no claws)
• • •
Tabs (and his brother) live with my ex now…it absolutely destroys me-they were/are my little babies after all-but the decision for my ex to take them was what was best for the cats.
在亚马逊上找到一个为猫咪着想的玩具很困难,我在寻找安全健康的玩具,你有什么建议么
My kitty swallowed a string tail from a toy mouse and yes $1400 later we’re thankful he’s still with us, it had gotten all twisted in his intestines. Since then I’ve been very picky about his toys so thank you for doing these kinds of videos
The feathers too...
那些不复责任的玩具太可恶了,我一直在寻找猫咪喜欢的安全健康的玩具,你有什么建议么?
The three-tier tower tracks is my kitties favorite nighttime noise maker.😂
It's a good toy to bat at when you're bored because your humans are sleeping rather than filling a food bowl!
My kitten could play with it for hours. My senior cat will play with it occasionally, especially if you get on the other side and play with her.
Casper should start his own channel. Would love to see his daily vlogs, furcare routine + workout regimen. That boy is a star.
Yes he is, a STAR 🌟 🤩 and very smart 👌 ❤
That would be amazing
The cat dancer toy is a classic! Back in the 90s, my cat became obsessed, and would go after it until he litereally fell down panting. This was alarmingtosee, so I had to ration the toy. His brother, a huge gray cat, loved the rustle of bills, and would steal any paper money he could get. So, we'd ball up dollar bills and he would run off with them. He was indoor only, so we got the money back.
The big grey brother cat was probably a politician in a previous life. 😉😹
The last sentence made me chuckle, love the disclaimer
All three of mine love the cat dancer! I always say it looks like it was designed by a stoner who was looking to play with his cat and all he could find was a guitar string and a rolling paper. 🤣 But mine do go nuts for it. I keep three in various parts of the house
2975, you describe it so well. My cats love this toy!
Look under the couch for his stash!
My cats’ number one toys are those plastic springs. You can get a pack of 60 for about 7.00. They chase those all over the house. They absolutely love them.
My cats love those too! I was surprised because they don't look like much, but now they cry if they lose them.
My Stella is obsessed with those springs!
i had to rebuy these things because they get lost after a week. last week i had to move my washmashine and there were all of the springs. my cats were in heaven
Yep - young or old, they all love the springs. Even the dog.
I was looking specifically for this to know if those tiny springs are cat safe or if there's a swallowing hazard! Thanks!
Same with my 14 yo rescue who has been with me for 5 years. Still loves his tower
Tha’s funny. Like a toddler!
I miss her.
My cats don't respond to the licking stick balls. But the Yeow Bananas they love!!! Your cat is gorgeous- Casper.
Yes mine too they dont care bout the licking balls
I have one cat that loves them and one that ignores them. Kind of a crap shoot whether or not they will like them.
That tower of tracks has been a blessing for me in fostering kittens. The adults play with it very very occasionally, but the foster kittens ADORE it!
Yep, it is a favorite of dumb babies! 😸
It looks very Baby Toy even haha. I get the feeling a human baby would enjoy it toob
My kittens love it too!
Wow, I've never seen such a trustworthy looking reviewer, Casper really sets the bar high!
We foster lots of kittens. They love the tower of balls toy
Thanks!
Yep, my cats love ping pong balls, they're the best cat toys. They disappear so fast. I'm sure I have dozens under the furniture 😅
@@CorinneHSmithnow you know why your foot’s been so sore lately!😂😂😂
Love how your cat helped with the reviews! It's always nice to see one of your cats in a video
Favorite toys in our house:
- plastic springs. they come in packs of 10 and my girl cat chases and carries them all around the house, and would play fetch with them in our last place (not trained, she did this on her own).
"clearly a dog person...a sadist or both" lol love it
I have to laugh, I just started watching your video, and when the “doorbell” sound effect sounded, my two cats went on high alert, and ran for their safe spots 🙀
My cat’s favorite toy EVER are those cheap, plastic spring toys. I bought a bag of like 60 of them on Amazon for around $6 and I’ve never seen them love a toy so much! I loved this review and it was helpful to see how Casper reacted to the toys 😃
The energy and enthusiasm make watching so enjoyable.
👍
I just love you, Jackson!!! I watched this episode recently for the first time. I was very impressed! I'm a cat Mom of 2 indoor only cats and 6 feral cats and 2 strays. I have learned soooo much about feral cats and cats in general. I have TNR all of my feral cats. I feed them daily. The chosen to live under my home . Mamma cats had 2 litters before I was able to do TNR. I'm so grateful I got them all! Keep up the great cat work, Jackson!
My kitties love the plastic springs, they bounce around great for chasing and are cheap. Of course the cat dancer is the favorite interactive!
I came here to see if anyone mentioned the kitty springs! My kitties love them, they play fetch with them, complete with bringing it back and expecting you to throw it. They carry them around the house vocalizing. They have a blast with the springs 😂
Mine liked them too!
Where did you find those wonderful mouse toys? 😊
I also want to know where the animal skin toys are from.
I have 2 siamese cats. 1 loves crinkle and kicker toys and the female loves the wand and puzzles. Both love mice toys.
We have 10 rescue cats. I learn so much from your videos! Love these product reviews, thanks so much.
Thanks for this cat guardian public service message! So many oddball experiments being sold as cat toys! 😅❤
My rescued tiny fury friend is a handful but you help me be a better cat-dad. Thanks for making both of our lives better!
The yellow banana catnip toy is loved and adored - not only by my cats, but I send them to my friends who own cats - and they love them too! Best catnip toy hands down.
Great review Jackson. Catit is my favourite brand for food puzzles. We have 3, which we alternate. It really gets them working for their food.
"Clearly a dog person, a sadist or both" had me cackling
Be careful of temptations they're spicy they give the urine in a bad smell it may lead to kidney disease if you want to keep doing temptations add a little cranberry juice to the drinking water for them
I use toilet paper rolls lines up in a small box 😂
Hahahaha, $1.25, so cheap.
You’re the best! I ordered 2 bananas and the puzzle and the cat dancer…. and my babies LOVE them!!!!! Oh, and the box they came in too 🤣. Thanks Jackson ❤
THIS WAS VERY INFORMATIVE, "THANK YOU"...CASPER IS ABSOLUTELY ADORABLE!!!...IN LOVE!!!❤❤❤
So excellent watching your gorgeous Casper testing the toys 👏🏼👏🏼🐾🐾😻😻😻
I've had to rehome my cats this weekend and I'm so sad. But the transfer was so surprising! One of the two, who was always super timid, as soon as people were over he was hiding (but super happy and relaxed when it was just me) basically walked out of his transport box and started exploring, despite 4 people watching him. He was walking around tail up and vibrating, super happy, I've never seen him that confident and excited before. I'm so glad I caught it on video. It helps me feel less horrible about having to rehome my babies 😢
You can tell me your needs and I will help you find the cat toys you want so that your cat can be happy every day.
Casper is absolutely beautiful 😻😻😻
The fact that you said "et cetera" instead of what a lot of people say "exetera" is fantastic
It is the nature of a cat to catch mice.
We never had amazing luck with the ball track toys, but our newest kitten goes crazy for them. Its very validating.
I also recommend growing your own catnip! It's so easy and my neighborhood cats love it too!
I’ve tried that. The neighbors cat ate it down to the roots
@@emilyfeagin2673 Put a metal cage over it
@@emilyfeagin2673 Raccoons ate mine!!
Would love to see Cat Fountain reviews! My Tortie baby will not drink her water!😭
if your cat only eats wet food then it is getting enough water through the food. If your cat also eats dry food, then it needs extra water. It's better to leave out the dry food. But also with wet food offer water even if it don't touch it.
Ohh ok! my cat only eats wet foods, that makes sense! Thank you!
@@ralphk.8869
Thank you, Casper for your expert opinions.
Matching your sunglasses with ur couch is a vibe
Thanks - good stuff & advice. Merry Catmas Jackson my friend.👍
My cats favorite toy is the poor dog
LOL😂 I’m so sorry for the poor dog
My daughter's cat and kitten love the Cat Springs/Spiral Springs. They never get bored with them.
Love the cat tester❤
The amazon box and a ball of string were my cats favourite yesterday!!
👍
Our cats' affinity of ornaments is why there are only a handful of (non breakable) ones on our tree this year.
I’m a protective cat daddy, so I get bent out of shape when wife buys unauthorized toys😂
Casper is a beautiful cat by the way😻
I am wary of anything made in China. Afraid it might hurt my cats. BTW Casper is a handsome boy
Thanks!
Play with your cat!
He needs play time and enrichment. Teaser wands or interactive toys because he's bored.
I have the exact same problem and yes, people have also told me to play with it.
Do you know if your baby was properly socialized with it's mama and siblings ?
@@melchiorlise2466 means?
@@87cyrusas in was your cat taught by its mama how to play, interact with her and its siblings.
So glad you mentioned boxes in the beginning...our cats love them! We build cat castles and cut out doors, windows & traps , etc. We toss them after they get bored or destroy them and make more, lol. They also love large paper bags (we cut the handles, if they have any)
We do buy various toys but cardboard boxes seem to be their favorite.
@@Ferindel Ours don't swallow it, thankfully, but they leave a mess of shreds and pieces everywhere. I check their poop regularly 🤷🏼♀️😂
My cats love the wand toys. Always supervise and never leave a cat alone with a feather toy!
This is the type of guy you want to marry. Extremely thoughtful kind and caring.
j.galaxy ur always a reliable channel when i need it (cat's birthday soon)
that tower with the balls is great for fosters with kittens all the kittens in Kittenville love it
Caspers waaay too high to test the remaining toys 😂😹. Mine love the Yeeooww bananas or rainbows. But are so sneaky they suck on the ends to soften it up, a few strategic chews voila!! the catnip pours out and five bodies are rolling in it😂
