And before you do the effort like me : $ 1,495.00
yeeeeesh. It's a beauty, but can't justify it for my fringe operation
Gotta get in finance it seems.
I would easily pay that much for something that lasted that long because quality last forever
@@youknowwithMartyKauffman and get in it steal
Domke. You’re welcome.
“We’re just stupid, but we’ve got soul” I love that! 💯
Yeah, Van is rich.
*takes beat
It’s stupid,that’s for sure.
Fun thing is they're both actually pretty fucking rich so I really don't know what they're on about
@@medit4tive They want more money. From us.
This video is an excellent example of how refreshing it can be when a product is talked about outside the context of an ad-read, unboxing, or review. Sure you could argue that it's all those things, but that feels to me like calling a pine tree a telephone pole.
Still what he did, he sold an item, a brand and even selling it as something it really isn't its a good hand bag, not a bag for most photographers who ever like to walk and not just drive.
This video is advertising a 1500 dollar bag
Van and Casey are masters of the underhanded advertisement.
That's what made Casey rich. He can make an ad for a product that doesn't feel like an ad and millions of goobers will watch it. More valuable than any TV commercial.
@@realsamhyde you watched this one too
@@Rockmaster867 about one minute of it. Obviously I was referring to people that watch and enjoy it without have the awareness to realize it's just an advertisement.
How can a simple video about a bag be so inspiring!?:-)
My father used the same canvas “ditty bag” for 50 years whenever traveling. He loved sailing. And old things. Your bag reminded me of his. He also took me to Mystic to walk around on the Charles W Morgan. It exemplifies everything he was about. Incredible vid. Thank you.
Man your videos are so great. Like a cup of coffee on a crisp morning outside. I savor them and often times wait till the time is right to watch them as I don’t want to waste them.
saved this one until just now because same. worth it.
That last line. Incredible.
“We’re just stupid, but we’ve got soul”
Indeed, just perfect - Van knows how to tell stories, no question
Killspencer bout to get slammed with orders. Van is a good friend.
The bag is $1,450 probably won’t get slammed to much lol
@@JCChainz yikes. Well at that price, five orders is probably getting slammed
They changed it to $995 😂
RIP to those who paid the full price
Van has rich friends
I love that bag, it's perfect. I can't afford one, I wish I could. I'm not suggesting that it's over priced, I'm saying that I'm short on money. I wish you a million sales on this beautiful bit of kit.
There's something beautiful about owning an item that can be preserved over time. I like how you thought of the different applications the bag needed for different modes of transport.
Your videos always make me feel nostalgic, happy, and optimistic. I love what they do to me. Thank you.
that is a beautiful bag and once again your story telling makes every thing you shoot look cooler.
beautiful video , loved how the process of creating that rugged bag was shown & the idea of adding foam in it for extra protection from drops
Van’s inspiration always radiates through his videos. We love you. Van 🙌
Like so many of your other movies, I love this! Thank you for working so hard to keep putting all the magical content out into the world.
Thank you. Thank you. 🙏
Simply brilliant! ❤
Best video in a while, great video! Hope more of this kind of video's (with old footage included) are here to come!
Mr wizard is freaking awesome. Loved getting up early and watching that man do science.
I just *love* these videos, thank you for making them and thank your for the inspiration to start my own channel sharing my own creations - the world needs more people like you :)
That has to be the coolest bag I’ve ever seen.
We love them all, but this was one of the best. Thank you.
Love it! Great vid man.
Excellent video ! I have found this one especially well done!
6th Principle is that the bag is $1500
Is it actually
I’ve bought many bags and I have spent over $1500 total so far. And I’m still not happy with my current bag and it will not last long. I should have bought only one back in the day it would still be loved and used today
Loved your Patreon conversation with this maker.
Very cool video as always
Always, the best videos on You Tube!
Beautiful bag !! i would love to have one like that !!
Love this. Thanks as always Van. 👍🏼🙏🏽
Great video
the last line of this video hurt like a whip, magnificent!
my camera bag is the same leather Minolta bag it came with in the 70s it meets nearly non of these fundamentals, but it looks fantastic
Hi, i see all of your videos learnt a Lot and love it
Very happy for you that this resulted in collab!
I loved Mr Wizard when I was a kid
In the 1970's I had a couple of cameras and lenses that I carried around in a canvas knapsack. It was a terrible choice for a camera bag. I started designing the perfect camera bag in my head. Then one day I was watching the Lou Grant show and the staff photographer walked in and threw his camera bag on the desk. It was my camera bag I'd designed in my head. A couple of months later, an ad in one of my photo magazines had an ad for a Domke Bag and the ad included the line, "As seen on the Lou Grant show". I got one and used it for 40 years and finally wore it out for good. I got a cheap, crappy, Chinese replacement a few years ago. Thanks for that recommendation. BTW, I've walked the decks of the Charles Morgan. I love visiting historic villages and Mystic Seaport is one of my favorites. I also loved watching Mr. Wizard as a kid in the 50's. He taught me how to make a still.
I had a Domke photo vest. It was called PhoTogs. It had a lot of pockets. I sold it on eBay for $$$.
I have the Killspencer briefcase 3.0 in grey. I have had it for at least 8 years. One of the best bags I have ever owned, I love it.
THIS IS WHAT WE WANT! A quintessential excellent Van Neistat video. Thank you .
This video is essentially a commercial for a bag.. 😚
Good video
Great story.
Loves it!
This is the most excellent RUclips video
0:17 nice Marathon GSAR watch. I have a video of this watch on my channel.
Been shopping for such a tote for the last few weeks. Thanks for the recommendation!
$1500 for the bag.
Man, I need this
Mr Wizard reference? Love it! Tried to make a mini hot air balloon from that show but it caught on fire.
awesome
Literally 2 minutes ago I was talking to my girlfriend about wanting a camera bag. 😂 van you read my mind.
But are you going to buy this one?
@@richardreynolds7552 we have different needs for a camera bag. I shoot mostly 35mm. I'm looking for something more of a daily carry. like a tactical fanny pack. so no, I will not buy this because we have different needs.
Are you in Finance?
@@MrJakie i am not. why do you ask?
@@qwib401 I thought you wanted to buy THAT bag. Therefore you must be rich 😅
Wow, one of my favourite RUclipsrs working with one of my favourite bag manufacturers? Will definitely get one for the Sony kit. I too also use beat up small Filson duffle when travelling with my gear just because it's endlessly repairable by just about anyone with a needle and thread.
Ван, ты красавчик
Hecho en USA, con manos LATINAS ❤😅
I don't believe you are not already rich, Van. Simply think of all the people you touch with your art. And, you have soul. So, you got that going for ya.😉
Some people just love to pay a significant premium for a "feeling"
It's also easy for dudes to become obsessed over having "the best" setup for whatever particular task they are engaged in at the moment.
I'm happy that my personal upbringing has led me down the path of "whatever is within reach at the moment is right for the job". Much cheaper and just as satisfying in my opinion.
Man, thank you for the last sentences!!! … Hopefully I got soul … at least.
Beautiful video; beautiful bags! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Cool!✌️
I too apply strict principles to my bong bags
Damn, I have been a bag maker for many years but this video gave me lots to think about. The international cobbler repairability is such a cool consideration!
When I first heard the name AKS bag, I didn't know what it meant. That's the bag the second assistant camera guy on a movie set carried around. I finally figured it out. Duuuuuah.
How do you put so much knowledge in a video less than 6 minutes..its got to be a Neistat trait😊
Sweet bag!
But, at $1,500 per bag, I can think of a ton of other bags that I would buy instead. All of them are easily $1.000+ cheaper. All of them are made in the USA.
This is exactly what I want to do in my future. Make custom bags and make videos about it.
Currently the repair guy for TOPO, I’m on my way 🙏🤘
love your vids. You've got sou;!
For me, and I know this is very gear and artist specific: I don’t wanna travel with a camera bag. I have my camera and my backpack. If I carry lenses, they will be in the bag pack in their own little pouches. This way I only have to worry about two access points to worry about. But this is only for photography right now. But I think when I want to travel with a video setup again, I’d use something small. Either a point and shoot or a small mirrorless with a good do it all prime focal length like a 40mm.
Home Depot sells a Klein bag for $60 the exact same style also made in USA. I have two of them
van's bag is a beauty. but yes those are fantastic.
Take a can of paint and paint it black. Add a few doodads to the outside, and suddenly, you have a Tom Sachs Kelly Bag... 😁
Listen to your friend Spencer. Value, worth, and riches aren't only measured in money. Of course you know this and I hope you know that measuring one's value in money is stupid, not what you and Spencer are doing. Love the bag, love the video.
You have soul❤🎉😊
Lovely film, feels like OG HBO content or vintage Vice
"You got SOUL! and everybody knows, cause it's alright, yeah it's alright"! ❤
Have ThinkTank Retro bags I can’t kill. Paid less than $150 for them. Have travelled all over with them.
What kind of clip together thing is this at 1:23 called? This specific one shown here
Looks like a cobra buckle
@@MikePGuitars yes you are right, it's a cobra buckle. Thanks!
Specifically the Cobra "ProStyle"
best ending
Expensive bag.
4:06 😮🙌
1500 is pretty high Van mate. I mean yep it’s a life long investment for sure …. But ex military bags made with canvas , adapted for your own needs could also work for a fraction of the cost !
So when do you start selling them? ;)
RIP Killspencer's website from all of the traffic. 😅
This man knows how to sell a $1500 bag... for anyone in the market for a $1500 bag.
It's cool how everyone likes different stuff. This is amazing but for me it has to be a pack pack as I have to carry it.
Is there a way to put a shoulder strap on this bag?
Almost "designer" priced stuff, but unlike most designer stuff at least it appears built for purpose. It's probably a fair cost given the quality and US based labor involved.
i love you
Maybe you could produce that for sale? I always used a big thermal lunch bag so my gear looked less tasty to thieves.
stupid with soul... love it
Great video! 1500 bucks for a bag is not in my realm unfortunately.
👍👌
how much is the bag?
am i trippin or the 1000 USD CAMERA bag does not have a waterproof rain cover anywhere included?
I was sold on it until I realized it costs more than all of the camera equipment I could fit inside of it
whopping 1, 495. thief can just steal the bag!
🇺🇸!
Nice, I wouldn't go with a white though, draws too much attention.
You’re friends with Mr Wizards grandson. One of my fiends pooped on top of a portapotty. Pretty much the same thing.
I think I’m going to have to just write KILLSPENCER on the camera bag I made out of a ziptop cooler bag.
Damn I thought Billingham bags were expensive
You don't need to get into the world of finance, you can just sell $1500 canvas/leather bags and get someone on RUclips to promote it.
Was this a ad?
Nice looking bag.
"If you want to get rich go into finance. But what about us? We're just stupid but we've got soul."
Proceeds to charge over 2000 Canadian for a canvas bag.
I have a vintage locking bank tote bag. Doesn't scream camera bag from the outside, but I guess to the right person it says, "That dude is carrying around a giant bag of money". I slipped a padded camera organizer inside and it's been amazing.
Depending on the rest of your appearance, it might also appear that you robbed a vintage bank. "That dude robbed a bank in 2002!" I use an old canvas bank bag (maybe one-gallon size, non-locking) for a lunch sack sometimes. And sadly no one has ever accused me of robbing a bank. Not even fifty bucks worth of pennies.
I carry an old (like, from the 1990s) Domke bag, also made in the United States and presumably by hand because if it had been made by feet someone surely would have worked that into the marketing, and... I don't know what to do with camera bags. Photography is just an on-and-off sloppy hobby for me, and I'm not going to carry around two bodies and six lenses. I'm going to carry one body and one lens, and I'm going to keep in in the bag that I'm using for everything else. The camera bag just stays in the car on road trips, and then I get home and wonder why the hell I carried all that damn equipment just to leave it in the car the whole time.
That said, if I were to rob a bank-and wanted a new camera bag-the Morgan would be at the top of my list.
what kind of bank bag? this sounds awesome, and I am looking up vintage bank bags now.
My peak design bag was a factory second and only 100 dollars.
Cool bag. way out of my price range.
