You can get up to 4 cameras feeding into the RA2. There is hardware modules that will allow you rear, front and both turn signal cameras. Which can be controlled using your arrow buttons on your steering wheel.
Understood! We have seen those. We actually used to use a multicam harness from www.navtv.com to allow front facing camera. But I think that multicam harness was discontinued.
I seriously doubt so. The OBDGenie programmers are designed to make only specific code changes, and we don't have any that would involve engine tuning. This one specifically would just turn the back-up camera's value in the radio from not present, to present.
We don't but the install is almost identical. If you are having trouble we do have a live tech support team at 855-636-6287 EXT 11 who can help talk you through the install.
We do offer a license plate bracket backup camera as well as a cargo camera. Yes this ends in an RCA connection so it will plug directly into most aftermarket radios. Just do not select the genuine Mopar camera as that may not work as successfully.
$699.95 (Before taxes) is the price of the OEM style with programmer (this option gives you the moving reverse lines when you turn your steering wheel) infotainment.com/shop/exterior-accessories/backup-cameras/13-18-ram-truck-tailgate-handle-backup-camera-kit/
You can click this link, and choose the camera kit you like, and add it to cart! infotainment.com/shop/exterior-accessories/backup-cameras/13-18-ram-truck-tailgate-handle-backup-camera-kit/ Alternatively, you can call in and reach out to our sales team to verify compatibility and set you up for an order!
Sorry I am not quite sure what you mean by "alpina". This Camera kit is designed to work with the 16 Ram 1500 and its OEM radio. So you should be compatible with this kit.
We offer these packages as complete plug and play kits. The configurations that we offer are limited to the components contained within the drop down menu listing. infotainment.com/shop/exterior-accessories/backup-cameras/13-18-ram-truck-tailgate-handle-backup-camera-kit/
We also sell that programming through this programmer. infotainment.com/shop/interior-accessories/obd-genie-programmers/obd-genie-chrysler-dodge-jeep-rear-view-camera-programmer-c-rvc/
Having issues with the display. When in “Reverse” I am getting a blue screen and unsure why. I triple-checked connection and all seems to be in order. I did even try putting the genie and reprogramming (done 3 times) but still no luck. Any suggestions?
This camera kit uses a harness for power to the camera by using the cigar lighter circuit. The harness also has a fuse itself. Please check the fusebox fuse for the Cigar Lighter, and the fuse on the harness. If you are getting power to the cigar lighter, then the camera may have gone bad. Please reach out to Customer Support for assistance if that's the case!
I bought this kit for my 2015 Ram about 4 years ago along with the 8.4 inch screen upgrade and it worked great until the other day when in reverse it shows a blue or black screen and says camera unavailable. I tried messing with the connection under the tailgate and still doesn't work. Any suggestions as to why it would quit working?
Hi there, This camera kit uses a 12V accessory harness that uses the cigar lighter circuit for power. The 12V harness has a standard blade fuse on it. If you can verify that you are not getting power at your cigar lighter, please check the fuse in the fuse box, F93 for the cigar lighter, and then check the fuse on the 12V accessory harness. If both fuses are fine, and the cigar lighter is getting power (you can put a phone charger adapter or something to see if it gets power) then it's possible the camera itself has gone bad. We get these kits pre-boxed from Camera Source. So you may be able to contact them to see if you can just purchase just a replacement camera (We would have to sell you the whole kit, minus the radio harness and 12V accessory harness and OBDGenie). You can provide them your order number from your original purchase with us. If you cannot find that order number, please call our support team and they can look it up for you!
No the Uconnect 5 uses a digital camera but you should have one as they camera for reverse was standardized in 2018. Do you have the Vin you could send me at Taylor@infotainment.com?

great video. just purchased my kit today. looking forward to installing it.
Hope you enjoy it!

If I have a diablo tune installed, will using the obd genie with this or any other equipment like the radio interfere with that?
I seriously doubt so. The OBDGenie programmers are designed to make only specific code changes, and we don't have any that would involve engine tuning. This one specifically would just turn the back-up camera's value in the radio from not present, to present.
Do you have a video for a backup camera on a ram with a center console?

@Infotainment_nav is it possible to replace the camera if it breaks, or would a new kit need to be ordered?
Any options for flatbeds?

is there a way to hookup that video wire to the radio without that big passthrough harness? is there a wire you could just tap into?
This upgrade package was actually designed to accommodate a plug and play install without having to worry about cutting or splicing wires.
Will this work if I have an after market amplifier installed to my oem radio screen?
Amp should not effect this. This will plug into the factory radio. As long as the full radio system has not been swapped you should be fine.
If you do have a fully aftermarket radio you may have to go aftermarket with the camera as well.

What will be the cost of option 2 factory design if like to order with programer

So with my Ra1 screen installing the camera woukd still be incompatible
This upgrade would require a minimum of an RA2 unit, which features a 5" touch screen.

Do you guys sell just the wiring kit? Both from back of stereo and the pass through harness? Any chance to buy both with obd genie?

Would I be able to flash for the backup camera using a Bluetooth obd scanner paired with alpha OBD?
The dealer and/or Alpha OBD should be able to program the BCM to enable RVC programming
We also sell that programming through this programmer.

Was the camera bad?
@rsmetalguitar Yes I believe so. Haven't got around to replacing it yet but I'm sure it's bad it has power despite that it's not working.
Did you need to buy a new kit, or did they send you a replacement? I'm considering getting a kit, but I have concern if the camera goes out.
