    My Starlink shipped today. My main use case will be car camping in remote locations and cellular Internet backup. I'm hoping that folks come out with an in-use case, basically a frame around the Starlink that protects the edges, very much like a smart-phone or iPad case because I can see beating the thing up otherwise. All I've seen so far are carrying suitcases mainly.

      Yes, there are some really cool 3-D printed solutions if you have not checked into them yet. Check out ETSY. They don't seem to be the cheapest but, they would work. Some have handles on them and such. I am waiting to see if Starlink will come out with anything. But some of those Etsy printed solutions are pretty neat.

      Someone testes theirs in a carry case and it worked just fine. So your idea makes a lot of sense.

    You can also use the barrel to barrel cable that came with the Mini direct to the solar generator too.

    I'm waiting for my mini to ship, got the 3800 case, 2700ma pack wit h2 usbc and 1 A, I found a small solar panel that folds up smaller than the mini footprint. my plan is to charge the powerbank with the solar as it runs the mini, to increase the runtime, infinite as long as I have sun on the panel. Pairing a small battery bank & solar panel with the mini is a no-brainer because the starlink like the solar panels need a clear view of the sky. It's pretty interesting what you can do with a small Quick charging USBc power supplies. I am even using it with a 24v to 12v step-down gong to a cig port. I can use this to power my favorite 12v DC camping pole light that pulls 27watts

      That's sick! What solar panel did you get? Does the battery pack your using have passthrough ability? I know the larger solar generators do. Man such a game changer.

    Do you think a hardshell case would be appropriate? If you put it in the hydration bladder sleeve but really stuff the pack, will it crack the dish?

      Be great I think but these dishes are tough. I'm always amazed to see them in Ukraine in crazy conditions.

    The 12v battery won't power the mini over the included cable. Too much voltage drop over 50ft. You can run a voltage boost converter. But the best solution currently is to get a 24v or 48v battery. No conversion losses.

      @HillPhantom  17 дней назад +1

      Yes with the shorter cord I show in video no voltage drop as it's only 3 ft. Cheers

      Just checked it out, I have to say, $2,500 for a case and built in battery that is 30,000mah.....I mean full on cool idea, but if you have a connection to them, that price tag won't fly. Super cool, just too pricey for most. When I look at, knowing what I know, 30AH battery is max retail $200, being a CNC guy, the material and cut is max $100 if you own the CNC machine, maybe $200 if you are paying someone. Internals less electronics if even needed, $50.00. Suction feet/magnetic feet, max $40. To charge over 2500, its just way way way to much.
