Silver is great when you’re young and broke. I’ll never understand fake jewelry when silver is so cheap and looks so good. I also don’t understand white gold but platinum is a whole different thing so I get that. Yellow gold is my fav, love silver too, and want some platinum. White gold is for the birds...but it still better than fake of course.
A lot of fun costume jewelry would be cost prohibitive if they were made of solid gold and it is often not made in sterling. There are quality “fake” items. Also, I like stainless steel as a cheaper alternative to gold and silver.
Also Ross simons has decent priced jewelry. 14 k gold balls for like 100 bucks. 7mm ones actually on sale for 80 right now. I recommend everyone check Ross Simons out and I love it cause there is more variety there of earrings than anywhere. And wow you have a herringbone ...those are my fav necklaces !

I only wear 18K gold - either white or yellow. It's easier to buy them now because I have trusted sellers online from Dubai and Japan. 18K gold from Japan is breathtaking and the best in my opinion.
I love silver, platinum and palladium. Gold in high carats look horrible on me. I have a nice 18k thick chain with an opal and diamond coin pendant but I never wear it. The hundreds of gold items in my collection just never get worn and collecting dust. I also hate vermeil they always look so cheap and yellow. The only gold I can wear is probably 9k near the face and maybe 14k rings rarely. My main jewelry box is just mostly hundreds of silver items haha.
I love all the gold on your fingers! I’m a fan of yellow gold too so I favor just gold rings…not a big fan of gemstone rings (except my Diamond wedding rings)

Is this solid gold?” And they’ll usually let you know!
