The more attention you pay, the more symbolism and philosophy you will catch on. The themes shown in Bleach are really mature, to the point that if someone said Bleach is an adult manga, I would totally understand the point of view.

Seeing people getting into Bleach nowadays is so much fun. The Zanpakutō is downright one of my favorite things in fiction.
If you’ve seen/read Bleach when you were younger I’d highly recommend going back and going through the series.

@@furorteutonicus9045 artstyle is easily one of them, i'd argue the way kubo draws is one of the best ever in general, let alone the goofy ah doodles oda makes. bleach also has better themes in its story, which are presented in more nuanced and subtle ways, it also has a much better pace. i can list other things too, just as i can list all the things oda does amazingly well, like environments, world building, emotional moments etc but acting like bleach does everything worse than one piece is just a nonsensical take of a blinded fanboy.

I would honestly recommend u reading the CFYOW light novels that take place 6 months after TYBW, it has many insane revelations, Hisagi is the MC, a new villain is introduced, the secrets & lore of the SS get unraveled that has to do with the Soul King, & much more, u gotta check it out, and yes it's canon to the source material, also make sure to check out the No Breathes from Hell one shot chapter that Kubo teased us with on a new potential arc

Personally, Bleach has always been my favorite manga and easily the best out of the big three for me. Its probably the most unpopular opinion to have especially back in the day, but ive stood by that. Kubo is one of the greats not only for his banger art but for his genius subtlety and foreshadowing. I really hope this new anime adaptation with him directly working on it will have a better ending than the manga as it being rushed by deadline was my only gripe with that series. Great video!

Back when Ichigo first met zangetsu, zangetsu tried to tell Ichigo his real name but it was covered in black ink and couldn't be seen. And the one who do this is Ichibe ( forshadowing Ichibe power + Zangetsu)
When Aizen leave SS, he talk to Utitaka that "no one start in the top of the world, not you, not me, not even gods, but the unbearable vacancy of the throne in the sky is " ( forshadowing Mimihagi + Soul king)

Ichigo has a cross pattern on his bedding because his mother's cousin supplies the clinic. At the beginning of the Shrieker arc, when the clinic is flooded with injured people from a large scale traffic accident, Isshin calls Karakura General Hospital to reroute patients and tells whoever is on the line to talk to his boss because he WILL have beds free for Isshin to send people to.
I’m curious what you think about the Fullbring/Lost Agent Arc. I actually kinda liked the more grounded approach to Ichigo and the human world.

@@sanddry738 I haven't watched it in about 13 years but i disliked everything about it from the character designs of the fullbrings to the overly dramatic ichigo left behind tone. I thought even the captains showing up and getting a 1v1 to show off their time skip was lame. once i finish catching up on one piece i will rewatch bleach without skipping anything filler included. I have a feeling i'll feel the same way this time around though. I really hated that arc. Everytime i think of it i think muddy boots and get a little irked

Bankai is mostly domain expansion I dont know what he is talking about. Mayuri, Shinji, Hisagi, Hitsugaya, and Rukia. Id argue domain expansion is the most represented of bankai. Even those with reansformation effects will often come with domain domination.
about the power system. You forget a bit "the blade is me" these swords its not that they "dont feel like it" but the user is denying who he himself is or thinking of the sword as an object (in case of kenpachi) or not accepting himself or thinking he is worthy (in case of renji)
You know, back in the days when big 3 series running weekly, the only reason i liked to read bleach rather than the other 2, cause its beautiful character design , mystery of its story and also on how clean Kubo kept his manga panels. Like one piece's talking bubbles is all over the place in every panels, multiples times Oda drew in small scale just to fit all peoples talking. While Naruto in the other hand, it was so raw , too much unnecessary lines, rough edges, thank god Kishimoto changed his style by imitating the anime animator which more cleaner. If you compared all big 3 manga side by side, you definitely can see how nice, easy to read , and memorable Bleach character are. Also Bleach power system and its variations is amazing to watch and read, like from a simple bow and arrow to superhuman drug which can heighten your sense but making everything slower by hundreds of years. Those OG ideas and on how Kubo's implement in the fight can't be seen in other animes beside Bleach. The bankais also not just typical barrier and domain like JJK (which obviously inspired from Tosen's Byakuya's Senkei) but variety of them from speed enhancement, elements to unimaginable hax like change someone's name and put a new name to it. Lastly, i love, really love when Kubo put inspired theme for main races in bleach like soul reaper obviously like old Japan, Quincies is Germany and Arrancars is Spanish. Tell me, who tf ever can top the coolness of saying BanKai , Resurreccion and Vollständig which are in 3 different languages?

One of the things I love about bleach is not everybody needs to be cracked and strong as hell that's what makes this show unique and characters are way more as well
So, the reason the later half of the TBYW arc feels rushed is because it kinda was.
Kubo's health was declining, and he was drawing with torn ligaments in his shoulder. Had he continued how he was and did the war arc as long as he'd planned at the start, the damage may have ended up irreversible. Luckily, he had sense enough to finish, even if it was earlier than he wanted to, and get his health right. Now he's healthy and drawing again on his own terms and working closely with the TYBW anime crew to make it the best it can be, adding tons of content and fleshing things out. The last 2 cours are about to be INSANE with the additions.

Not far in the video yet, But I agree with you here man. I watched naruto, then one piece then just finished bleach this year. I agree with Bleach>Naruto and thought that since soul society. Both are great but I just can't be a bleach hater with moments that fire. Love to all series though. Actually started Bleach after seeing you gas it on twitter a while ago.

I was the same and did the same last year, I think it's just the energy and style speaks so loudly through the story it just sticks... I love Naruto, but to me there wasn't that same connection to the world in the story, more so just character stories 😅
The JJK power system is very inspired by bleach's power system (honestly bankai and domain expansion can hit just as hard)

but keep in mind I'm anime only for naruto and op. As for bleach, I read the manga but I watched the anime first, it took me around 9 years for me to get on the manga.
I just like the poetic writing of bleach, the osts and the how badass some moments feel. Whereas I love naruto's and one piece's world building. Naruto has an amazing power system imo because it's very well thought out and branches out to different categories. imo writing-wise naruto is better than op and that's what sells it to me. As for one piece, I don't want to seem like I'm hating on it because it definitely is an amazing show as well. It has a lot of amazing emotional moments (all of them do, but OP hits different). That's why I don't like comparing the big 3 to eachother. They all have their own ups and downs.
One piece is a less serious show, and yes obviously there are a lot of serious climaxes in the story but overall if you compare it to Naruto and Bleach, it is more of a "fun and adventurous" show.
Naruto is more of a world that you integrate yourself in, you feel like you're living with them, unfolding the lore along with them and trying to come up with solutions with them.
Bleach, at least for me, is better to just "spectate" because there are so many plot twists that you cannot figure out yourself. It also has a lot of moments that you know are coming, but you don't know when (like obv you know all captains have bankais, so you want to see them but you don't know when they are gonna use it, what they do etc. or you know that eventually ichigo is going to fight ulquiorra for example because they build it up so much pre-hueco mundo and during hueco mundo. Like if you told me that ichigo is going to fight starrk then I'd be like "but why" but you just know he is going to end up fighting grimmjow and ulquiorra and rest of the espada fights other captains instead.) Ichigo crying, getting emotional or depressed hits different as well for me because he's a lot more mature than luffy and naruto.
But yeah, these are my opinions and I know they're not right for everyone. So I wish people could just agree on the fact that all of the big 3 are amazing and fans work together instead of against each other. With that being said, even though I'm slightly disappointed that you made the comparison, I still really enjoyed this video and dropped a like.
p.s I started watching all of these shows in 2011~2012, still up to date with all of them so I don't have recency bias or watch order bias etc.

One piece is definitely not as ''serious'' in a lot of moments, but that's really only because we see most of the story through the view of luffy and his crew. The rest of the world in op is basically a warzone if you don't live in the east blue, and entire islands of people are usually wiped by pirates. genocide also seems to happen a LOT in the time skip.

The end of the manga is off because Kubo rushed it--he wanted to get it done because of his deteriorating physical and poor mental health. With him at the helm of the anime, we can get the ending we deserve. I'm honestly really happy we had to wait for it--the animation alone is worth it.
The more you read and the more you analyze it, you will understand how good kubo's writing is, kubo doesn't just spoon feed everything, you have to figure it out yourself I have watched and read bleach 5 years ago and I still find new things everytime lol
Whats interesting about Bleach is there a lot of things that can be infered in Bleach and isn't always directly stated. Like when Zangetsu fought Ichigo, he might seem happy but look at his reflection in the sword and will see he was sad. Both Ichigo powers cared about him.
the author of jjk said bleach is the first thing he ever read and really loved it. (hes big fan of hunter x hunter too). also tite kubo stated that he draws characters first and draw the world around them after so thats prob why chars are so loveable in bleach
Every"plot hole" in bleach was explored in the novel shit was fire can't wait for the adaptation
For me the best villain with the most acurate representation of evilness and ruthlesness is Tokinada. He is the main antagonist in the Cant Fear Your Own World light novel that takes place minutes after the TYBW arc. You should invest some time to read it, it truly is for me one of bleachs best arcs and the main antagonist is peak.

Bleach’s influence is pretty obvious to me. Bleach themes are deep and Kubos writing tends to be very meta and slightly esoteric. These traits only become features when you get older. When you are 15 years old this shit flies over your head. Everybody since the return of TYBW who have picked up bleach has loved it. Bleach was always great people just now catching up.

Chad is quite literally the strongest human in the show. Ichigo and Ishida aren't full human. Chad did well considering he went into every fight with a massive handicap, he never backed down and still never died. Huge achievement.

ichigo and ishida are still humans though. Quinces may be a race but they are basically humans with spiritual awareness and powers a sub type of humans.

I really loved the concept of upper and lower heaven, the precipice world, technically upper and lower hell as well. Urahara, toshiro and Ichigo are my favorite characters. Yoruichi as well being such a good teacher and fighter too! Love bleach

Renji and Chad suffer from the worf affect hell there is even a joke about it in the Adbridge.
Check out Flame of Rebirth Orihime analysis he has the most neutral analysis out there.
Bleach and Ichigo also has a theme of Death like Ichigo's mother his main motivation.
My favorite Captain is Komamura (or The Dog Man) especially how Kubo handles Vengeance Tosen, Gin, Ywach, Yamamoto, Sajin).
My favorite lieutenant is either Izuru and Hisagi they kinda represent that every day Shinigami and i love their iv would prefer not to do this but my duty as a Soul reaper makes me.
Aizen also has a theme about accepting the status quo (also like gojo) like with the soul king if you know you know.
Did you know that the Espada are based of Aspects of death.
Starkk and his loneliness (which i believe Aizen kinda relates to well as much as Aizen can) he's also similar to Kyoraku.
He's one of the Hollow that i consider a true Hollow with how they are described.

As someone who has been a die hard bleach fan I love the respect it’s getting recently. I also do agree the latter half of tybw did feel kind of rushed but with how the anime is going I have hope they will address some of this short comings.

HIGHLY recommend checking the anime of bleach. kubo has done so little in the manga world because he's been fixing mistakes he made from the manga in the TYBW anime. as it stands we've had something like 5 whole episodes of anime original content from kubo and based on the rumours we've been hearing from anime staff we got a LOT more to go

Bleach definitely has a legacy, it's just a little bit more obscure.
Tons of modern-day manga writers have taken major inspiration from the series. We wouldn't have things like jujutsu kaisen or demon slayer without it
the ladder half of the tybw was rushed cause Kubo was dealing with major health issues at the time he drew most if not the whole ark with a torn shoulder muscle or something like that

I WAS JUST LIKE YOU BRO, BLEACH was viewed as the “worst” in the big 3 because people really didn’t talk about it. I watched Naruto and OP before Bleach but as soon as i watched Bleach it blew both outta of the water for me. The character designs, the power system, the grit,spiritual, philosophical, and emotional themes of it stood out to me. Even the OST 🔥
2:20 tbf kenpachis zanpakuto did actually try to tell him its name, but because of his fight with unohana, kenpachi was constantly limiting himself to make his fights more interesting, subconsciously blocking out the voice of his zanpakuto until his rematch with unohana. Thats also why yachiru existed in the first place, to try and get kenpachis attention
man ichigo was and still is the most relatable anime character to me besides kaneki ken. hes very empathetic, was able to see ghost from a young age, has a very outrageous friend group in all the realms and half the time ichigo is just like bro shut up😂. once ichigo called the ambulances before beating the shit outta thugs i knew he was HIM. he talks shit and backs it up. and the fact ichigos entire being is about balance of ones self. hes just a really great character and satisfying development

Bleach tybw cour 3 comes out in October they have a chance to do something with ganju here. Considering that kubo was rushed with the final arc in the manga, I kinda expect there to be more done with him, wither way though I still think the characters cool especially when you find out about his relations to ichigo
Bleach was the first "anime" I watched, not counting those I didn't know we're anime. I also watched it in English dub so it helped me improve my English quite a bit.
Big agree with the dynamic between Bazz B and Haschwalth, although I put their dynamic in parallel more into the dynamic of Rukia and Renji during the SS arc where their friendship crumbled

How do you like the changes in the tybw anime? I think they’re all been absolutely stellar. One went as far as giving yhwach a clear motive now, it’s not ambiguous anymore. Also, the setup for soulking and ichibei backstory is rlly hype and don’t even get me started on senjumaru or uryu. Will you make a vid on them?

To clarify something Zangetsu was actually Ichigo's quincy power. His hollow side turned out to be Ichigo's true zanpakuto.

Bleach : character design (including personality, weapon, etc), cool weapon/power upgrade, "grey" story (kyoraku's on war, both side are evil)
Naruto : relationship (jiraya-naruto, naruto-saskeh), cool action fight

Bleach had way more of an impact than Naruto did on me, and I'm not a fan of One Piece
Small note: at 2:30 thats not actually Zangetsu, thats his quincy powers, his Shinigami/Hollow powers are actually what the fanbase has been calling "Ogichi" or White Ichigo. though you should take that with a grain of salt, I was learning and up to date on all the Bleach theories and shit up until a year after Bleach ended and since then the author has had a Q&A and some light novels (Can't Fear Your Own World) come out, so I might just be COMPLETELY wrong being out of the loop for so long

I think Bleach surpasses Naruto because a lot of the secondary characters feel like they did something in the Manga and the anime
In Naruto the beloved secondary characters like the Konaha 11 got next to no love in part 2 and only got it in light novels and extra material
Itachi, Obito and other characters Introduced in part 2 like Pain had significant weight And the story but a lot of characters in part one definitely didn't.

If you have read bleach manga, then you should definitely watch the TYBW Arc anime because Kubo has put many anime only seen which he couldn't during the weekly release of Bkeach manga. And you should definitely read Can't Fear Your Own World Light Novel, which is a canon to Bleach story and is actually supervised by Kubo himself.
ey bro just saw your video and i want to tell you why bleach remained behind the other 2 series, when the anime started the first season made massive changes compared to the manga and did not reflect the author's vision for the series, but when the second arc was animated and respected the pacing in the manga, it regained the hype it should have, but after that, the filler arc began, which even now is recognized as the worst filler in the history of anime, and all the hype went away because of it until to restart the adaptation of the manga

The very fact that I is part of The Big 3 mean it was like/popular more then most anime that air a the same time. Like if a top athlete is always in Third place doesn't suddenly make them last or worst the the rest of it competition.
