Thank you for this! I've been wanting to make some for my mom. Hilarious the difference between a recipe you love to eat and the recipe you make for the husband. Love your channel and all your recipes. First time commenting but I'm here and watching! 🤙

Hey thanks. I’m making a batch for x mas gifts for my mainland family
Awesome. Hope they enjoy!
My friend was visiting family in Hawaii brought a bunch of seeds from his aunts plant. Have like 9 of them in ground and pots right now fruiting like crazy. Looking forward to using your recipe.
Ooh nice.
I make it without vinegar. I just shake alaea ula, water, peppers and sliced garlic (lengthwise) in a mason jar and shake it. I put it in the fridge for a week. I strain it into smaller bottles (like clean empty rice vinegar bottles). I then divvy up the garlic and pepper and back in the fridge. Works. I did try it with diluted balsamic vinegar. Strange but good.
Thanks for sharing.
My favorite for dunk it and drink it🤣🤙 if can harvest some seeds for me I would appreciate it!! Your peppah tree looks so healthy!!

Mahalo!
Howzit sis would you do hot chile shoyu the same way or different.
Either way is fine
@@KeepingItRelle right on mahalo's for da reply 🤙🏽🤙🏽.
Hi rell, question I tried your recipe. Quick question, is it normal for the garlic 🧄 to change color, for some reason mine turned blue is the simmering process
Hmm. I've never had that happen before. I'm not too sure. Sorry.
Garlic turning blue is normal if you just steam/boil it. Try sautéing to a light brown to avoid it turning blue.
Can you add shoyu?? When do you add it?
Sure. Add it at the end.
Is it better if I fry the peppers first?
I've never tried it that way. If you try it, please let me know.
Seems easy & doable, however, what are the quantities? Ratio of vinegar to water, etc.
Recipe is in the description box. Mahalo.
Sorry, found recipe (as you pointed out). Made the chili pepper water this morning. Mahalo
I had thought that Chili Pepper Water was generally fermented. Does anyone do that?
Not the way we make. So many different ways to make it. You could do it that way if you wanted to.
Where is your recipe posted?
In the description or on my website.
