Weakest Canonicate commander:
-kills a platoon of heretics by himself
-solos demons
-fights 1v1 with a short sword when you aren't even worth the bullet
This looks like 40k to me, the untold story of the Krieg Civil War long before there was a Death Korps.

Countrycide made me soil my pants the atmosphere is orgasmic in your mods
Now that Trench Crusade is gaining popularity, I have to say, this is probably what it feels like.

Damn, that was the most intense 8 minutes I've seen in ages, and God only knows I wish this foretaste of Chapter 1 had lasted longer. The sound design and level design are clearly on a pro A+ level. As for the OST, if the music you hear in the video is also going to be in the game, well, what can I say except that I'm looking forward to the release of Chapter 1, I'm looking forward to more previews, and congratulations to the whole team.
EA, Ubisoft, Activision ? at TrenchWork who are the masters demonstrating that games when made with love and dedication exceed expectations. Looking forward to the final game.

Wow the progress from the original demo and countrycide to this, just amamzing. Love how the revolver has recoil now and feels much more powerful now. Gives off major M1879 Reichsrevolver vibes and I just love that. The melee system too wow didnt expect that and am so hyped about it, heres hoping we can upgrade our short sword over the course of the game.

Pretty sweet overall, the audio mixing could be better and I thought the faster pace is better suited here in the trenches. Good to see the friendly soldiers can take a punch and dish it out just the same. Can't wait to see the final release!
The ...uh "trench marines" could be abit more active though, they just mill around and shoot now and then, doesnt really give of the "taking back a trench" kind of feeling, the enemies are more faster and more direct on attacks. The rest is just dreamy
This looks great! I love the sound design and the aesthetic, there's just something about gasmasks and trenches being combined with otherworldly horrors that makes it so awesome to see in action. What a fantastic work this is, cant wait for the release!
Really hope there's still a chance at seeing the first chapter released this year. I can't express how excited I am for this project.

I see some deathwatch inspiration here besides the 40k. Very nice, can't wait to play it.
Love it, only gripe is that the hud seems a little too bright and distracting against the dark muddy trenches. The design of it is pretty awesome though

I've been excited about this since waaaay back when I covered the first episode and Country-cide (albeit ham visted early tuber style) and the additions of recoil and the themed HUD are real nice. Looking forward to getting in the trenches once again!

Wow...this looks and feels nothing like the 2020 demo, especially the sound department. Really nice hud and I can hear ammo pickups from Countrycide which is a great release.
The sound of the battlefield is excellent, especially the guns, as they sound like they hit your ears good. That said, it was difficult to hear them with the music being louder than the combat in the background and the one your fighting. Despite the strange sound mixing, the music amplifies the dread atmosphere of a cratered, barbed-wired tangle, infested, trench-scarred, wasted land full of green-eyed madmen and demonic trespassers.
I'm not so sure about the cultist voices. Not what they're saying but how they sound. They sound like they're talking in the upper reaches of their voices at the end of exhaling the last air in their lungs. The double-voiced reverberating behind the leading voice amplified their tone from strange to annoying instead of threatening.
Overall, I'm looking forward to the homemade Vraks.
Looks great, looking foward to it. Only thing I noticed is that soundtrack might need to be adjusted-lowered in certain sections as its almost only thing you can hear during a combat
Yes, it will sound better in-game. This was edited over since OST isn't implemented yet.

The UI number values are a tad too small and I have a feeling you could easily miss seeing them unless you actively pay attention to them. I'd say make them maybe 50% bigger and perhaps have them in a color to make them stand out more (perhaps maybe red on the right for weapons and bright yellow for the values on the left?)
as i have been binge watching trench crusade related videos, i can see how this mod can possibly fit in that universe more then in wh40k

Rewatching it 5 months later, still so good, Really cant wait to play it. I dislike single shot shotgun because to me it feels slightly out of place in the armory of a futuristic steampunk templar master. But then it occured to me the other side would be made up of mostly a converted citizen army and what ever they had at hand, and when youve got nothing you pick up whatever you can.

I would love to see implemenation of different kind of ammo like holy bullets that do double damage to demons, witches and evil spirits and unholy ammo which deals double damage to normal enemies.
very cool. Only things I'd critique is that it looks a bit hard to tell enemy from friendly at times, and maybe adding some sort of mumble during dialogue would make it clearer when the protagonist is speaking vs. NPCs
also do you plan on adding consumables you can hold on to and use at anytime? like a field medic kit and such

Trench Foot is nowhere near as demanding as Total Chaos. There's no need.
I think the fellow templars should be rescuable like marines in brutal doom and being extremely helpful in combat against the cult this would also demonstrate how the cult is basically mass recruiting people without giving them proper training vs few but disciplined and very well trained templars.
Also friendly fire amongst cultists should be a thing just to show how they don't even care about inflicting casualties on their own men and possibly infighting.
Templar forces are actually already visibly stronger than their heretic counterparts, especially later in the game. Having a rescue quest wouldn't be a bad idea though.
@@TrenchWork Later in the game i expect the cultists militia is just going to be a cannon fodder and main challenge are going to be the demons and creatures from hell itself
The demons may pose more of a threat, but some of the militia aren't too far off in terms of strength.
The only critique I have with this is that the trench gun should have been an actually trench gun. Instead of it being a boring single shot...shot gun, I recommend you use the real WW1 U.S. trench gun with the bayonet so you can stab demons and cultists in close quarters combat. Other than that, awesome work 10/10. 👌 👏 👍
It's actually not supposed to be a Trenchgun. Still, it won't stay a "boring" single-action throughout the whole game ;)
It honestly still would be cool, and more immersive to have an actual Trenchgun with the sword bayonet and everything.

I don't know about a revolver having dispersion as a gameplay mechanic because...it's a revolver, Those are pretty accurate unless it's something like a 2 inch snubnose type. And a single barrel shotgun? Will there be any sort of crafting station to upgrade it to a double barrel or something? I remember the early demos showing off an LMG so found it odd they have fully automatic guns but are using single shot shotguns instead of pump action or lever action ones.
The revolver may have noticeable recoil, but it's accurate enough. As for the shotgun, don't look down on it just because it's a single-barrel. That 4 gauge beast spits out destruction.

@@TrenchWork it's fine, I've already been waiting three years, and it's gonna be worth the wait for sure! I'd rather you guys get to have all the time you need to achieve that creamy heretic purging experience.
The gameplay look is nice, solid, tight. But the voice-lines for the basic heretic sounds...silly? I think when you used the Strogg sounds from Quake 2 it sounded more "gritty".
While I do believe that the Quake 2 SFX were grittier, the new voice lines show more character. I do get where you're coming from though. There is a posibility of us revisiting the voice lines.

hello sorry to bother but I have a question about how I can play this masterpiece because I don't know how to install it on my computer.
Chapter 1 isn't out yet, but you can try out the demo and the prequel Countrycide. Go to our ModDB page using the link in the description, you can find the files there. All you need to do is drag and drop the .pk3 files onto GZDoom and you're good to go.

Not directly, but some of Mike Franchina's art has been one of the sources of inspiration.

You should be able to figure it out once the lore drops.
Looks cool but you should write the subtitles with correct grammar so the mistakes don’t distract the eye. You can’t have two exclamation points at the end of a sentence!! You need at least three dots to form ellipses.. no more than three……………………… you need to have spaces after punctuation.You need to have commas in the middle of sentences like “as you wish my lord we won’t fail you”. That’s the only thing keeping this game feeling a bit amateurish, well done on everything else!
