      Thanks man! Hyper realistic isn't the only type of illustration out there. In fact, most Archtecture Professor I've known prefer an original approach to explain the project! Good luck!

    I love it! Beautiful visual! Little question. How do you place the model and the view in sketch to know exactly the angle and the prospective? thanks.

    • @LearnUpstairs
      @LearnUpstairs  5 лет назад +1

      Hi Simonetta! Thanks!
      When I create these isometrics/axonometrics, I make sure I have the parallel project view activated on Sketchup, then I click on the Isometric View Button under the Views Toolbar. Doing like this will result in a 30°/60° drawing that I can insert any element on the same isometric position

    Cool video, what did you do at the 1:12 mark to make that brightness/contrast panel appear? When I am creating a layer mask I have to make a new layer and the properties only show density and feather for controls

    • @LearnUpstairs
      @LearnUpstairs  6 лет назад

      C Ford Thanks mate! Every time you want to add an adjustment to a layer you should add a filter of that adjustment. For that you need to open that tab (Window > Adjustment layers or something like that).
      About the mask question I did not understand. Could you be more specific? But each mask works independently with each layer.

    • @LearnUpstairs
      @LearnUpstairs  6 лет назад +2

      Thanks!
      You can download the brush set from Arqui9 on the web. They have some vegetation brushes that you can use to paint inside the mask. You should make a base layer with a very dense vegetation, then apply a black filled mask and use the brush to paint white the areas that you want to show. Hope that helps! If not, please let me know!

    Hi! Do you model exclusively on Sketchup or do you use other programs like Revit Archicad, etc...

    • @LearnUpstairs
      @LearnUpstairs  5 лет назад

      Hi Alfie! It really depends on the project. For a quick 3D or specially for diagrams I like to do everything in Sketchup. But if it is for a real thing that I'm going to have to turn it into documents and have measurements. I go all in Archicad.
      But even when I do everything on the BIM software, I export to sketchup to create renders, illustrations and start the representation part.
      So I think at the end of the day, I use the tool that is most useful for the moment

    • @alfiesolomon3531
      @alfiesolomon3531 5 лет назад +1

      @@LearnUpstairs Thx for the reply. Indeed on the early stages Sketchup is my favorite partner, but when the projects goes further i'd hate to face the idea redoing everything from scratch or getting geometry errors from import. How do you go about converting your sketchup work to BIM elements ( in a reasonable fast workflow). Your channel is awesome btw, subbed immediatly

    • @LearnUpstairs
      @LearnUpstairs  5 лет назад

      Thanks a lot Alfie!
      To be honest I don't have a workflow to convert skp to archicad. In the office that I work, we go until massing and preliminary study as we call in Sketchup. Then after the concept is approved by the client, I'll remodel everything in Archicad to go to city hall approvement plan and then documentation to building site.
      Very dumb workflow, but at least when I approach the BIM step I double check everything since I'm doing it the second time. And now I do it more throughly, paying attention to every little detail.
      Sorry that I can't help you out here. But the more I get comfortable using Archicad. I will try to use it as concept. Unfortunately, until now Archicad cannot fulfill my need in renderings and specially interior design where the variety of 3d furniture.
      I hope I didn't confuse you more than before. Thanks a lot for the support! Cheers!
