Always happy to learn! Y’all are the best!!
Tristyn, just out of curiosity, how sore were you for the following days? Cause goddamn you two absolutely killed it.
This is the collab I actually wanted to see!
It was great to have you on! - Dr. Mike
exercises to skip if you don't have perfect knees.
@@SureIAmDead he was sore from the other workout that you didn’t see. It was a mouth workout. You dig?
This was unreal!!! Never been the same after this work out. It set the bar for me and I’ve not gone back!! Always pushing intensity with proper load!!!
I wouldn't think anyone could put you off all people through a workout that changed you entirely. You really know your stuff
max effort dude you are the shit
Any suggestions on compound movements I can do with a fused ankle, zero degree of flex
I like the Bambi legs at the end! Lmao
I know that feeling.
You killed it 💯!
@@quentonnankivell956al of them just get your heels up on a plate
Cant believe we ended racism with one simple hypertrophy focused leg workout. Absolutely godlike stuff.
Brothers under lord swull
😂😂😂
Hahaha
EVERY STROKE COUNTS.
🤨
Edge ya later!
Interesting fact: The first hack squat came into existence after Dr. Mike got a leg press pregnant.
Underrated comment
Explains the detailed sex analogy
I'm.. kinda lost. Can you elaborate and maybe present the necessary research articles
99% of RP workouts.
"Slow... slow... SLOW! Now stop and pause... as if another!" 😂
I absolutely love the app! Can I suggest that in the next version the addition of Dr. Mike audio saying things like “As if one more…” “Slow… Slow…” “Pause…” as well as some random expletives and taunting
And “GOOD REPS ONLY!”
@@anxee yes!! 🤣
And also "Daddy is proud of you!" after you finish a set.
Johnni: “Im so glad i took a shit before this”
😂
At minute 15 you Can see in the back the range of motion from the guys at the other leg press machine. The difference in ROM is hilarious.
Definitely not as big. Could be working around an injury or knee issues, who knows
Took Mike's advice too literally, made love to the leg press and that's why I'm no longer welcome at my gym
I love this guys coaching vibe. It's motivating, tough, but super supportive. So cool!
I am learning so many ways to improve my own workouts. So excited for this weeks training now
Isn't it amazing how some coaches can thread that needle, between holding you completely accountable to yourself without being a dick. Mike is the gold standard, in my opinion.
Jonni not getting up after 1 isometric bw squat really shows how hard he pushes on the leg press. That's eye opening actually.
I saw gonna say this.
also bigger muscles fatigue more and quicker, with more lactic acid build-up, and it hurts more vs a smaller muscle.
Pretty sure he did more than one squat
@@trainingbrah4018 No dude he literally couldn't even do 1,lol.
He failed at 3rd rep what you mean?? @@slasher298
"No matter how good you are at something, there is an Asian kid who does it better" in action and Jonni's face shows it
I know it is a joke but only an idiot would have expected a dude that weighs like 3 times more than the Asian guy to win that.
😂, watch Lee how he cheated and Mike had to keep telling him to stop because he kept on resting his hamstring on his calf muscles. 😂. Redact that stupid comment and watch the video
Them having 180 on the leg press is such a reality check 😅😅
My two favorite youtubers together Dr. Mike and Jonni! 😤👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿
Two best sources of free knowledge
14:18 when I'm exhausted & ready to stop to move to a new position but then she says "right there" I always find the power to keep going so maybe you're onto something with that analogy
Tristan is proof that it's not about how much you lift but what you do with the weight you're lifting, gives guys like myself hope
Nobody gets me more pumped for a (excruciatingly painful) leg workout than Dr. Mike.
We need a downloadable mp3 of just the epic adventure music and Dr. Mike saying "slow...slow.....SLOOOOW"
Learned so much from watching Dr. Mike train nattys and enhanced. Love the variations, this is incredibly smart and helpful. Thanks!
I just did my first workout this morning from the RP Hypertrophy App, after 2 week's rest due to going away then illness. I'm taking tips from this video for the first leg day of the week on Wednesday. Hopefully this 6 week mesocycle will give me the results I've been looking for after years of slow progress.
I have never used the app but following RP for roughly 2 years has put on well over 10kg of lean mass(natural) from my hogwash workouts I was doing before
There's definitely no way it will give you better results in 6 weeks than you got in years before, but if you keep at it, after a few months you might start to see some bigger changes. Best wishes to you! - Dr. Mike
To listen to Dr Mike's analogy ( 14:18 ) during Brazil's valentine's day and learn something from it is really awesome.
I've literally watch you put about a dozen people through this exact workout and it never gets old.
You have to wonder what the guy next to them doing half-reps was thinking, for me there's no way I could be next to that group and not immediately start pushing myself to be as hardcore as they are (and likely injure myself in the process, I'm not exactly qualified to work out with an IFBB pro 😖)
Preach! Here for it!
That little jump at 2:50 was so cute dr.mike ☺️
Love you guys training and the science hope to find some local bros like you all 🎉❤
I'm on week 3 in the app and my goodness this is really intense. Everyone online is arguing over volume vs intensity, meanwhile this app makes you do both. Scheduled to do 8 sets of biceps on friday and I'm legit terrified.
You’ve never done 2 exercises 4 sets each before?
I've just tried this workout myself. My quads are shaking like crazy!
Mike's like my favorite RUclipsr now
Best part of the video Is you get the right way, and wrong way simoultaneously. Whilst doing leg press's, the guy un the back perfectly demostrates how not yo do em. Beauty
Good dudes, great workout!
It is what a real hard set looks like with quality and determination.
Tristyn is the man, Jonni is the man,
and Lambo is for Dr.Mike.
Damn good video!
Next time you’re in Toronto, you should do a training video with Jeff Nippard! I’ve missed seeing Dr. Mike and Jeff talk fitness
I love mikes analogies so much 😂😂😂
One of my life goals is to be cool enough to land a workout with the RP king himself
Dr.Mike vc é o melhor, mande um abraço para o Brasil.
Good Shit!
Mike just needs to start designing training equipment for max hypertrophy and ROM! He seems really into the mechanical design of these machines and has a lot of good ideas.
I just found both RP and Jonni last week. Now I am seeing a collab. Crazy coincidence.
i love it! Jonni is busting his blurter and leaving his soul on that machine, some random guy on the press behind him is just doing like have reps chillin like he is walking in the park
Nothing can replace having someone there to keep you accountable to push you and spot you
Love how everytime Jonni is on camera it's like "This is about getting gains and fitness" then Dr. Mike jumps in like "This is about race!... Also we have a workout I guess" 😂
that intro was gold💪
I love how the dude leg pressing next to y'all is getting some real time training advice, and immediately applying it👌🏼
Guy in the back shamelessly doing half rips in front of Dr. Mike lol
Doc, you sadistic MF! I'm so pumped for my lift this morning!!! Thx guys!
Woooo! Get it! - Dr. Mike
Want to ask is it safe for the spine disc to do the leg press this way as I can see you guys are pressing when the pelvic is posterior tilting. It's not an ideal posture for the spine according to what I've learned.
The best leg press analogy ever.
Got one of those hammy machines at my gym. I never put the pad quite so low to where it's pushing my knees into hyperextension, but right on the edge. It's the only lying hamstring machine I've ever used, good to see Dr. Mike approves. I don't like the seated ones. Feels weird on my knees when my hips are hinged.
BAAASSED 😂👏🏼
Lots of content here for the next "Dr. Mike Israetel Out of Context."
Let's goo!
That was soo strong 👍👍👍👍
The Life Fitness lying leg curl is the best one hands down! The strength curve is perfect too, more difficult at the bottom as opposed to most machines being evenly distributed throughout.
Tbh most sitting leg curls allow for the same stretch.
@@Antonio_Serdar The main reason for me that I like this one is the strength curve
Dr Mike's so wise, that opening line could be said at any point in history and be relevant, makes his videos ageless. Truly amazing
I wish you could show us one full set mike ;)
I used to train with this Caribbean guy named Sean. He would do all this crazy weight to failure and never hyped himself up, never grunted, never screamed, or complained, or ANYTHING. I always thought he was not human. Tristyn reminds me of that guy.
Rep sweet. Squat up!! Nananananananana
The fact that you are putting DaVante Adams through a leg workout is awesome man!
It's leg day tonight after three days of 12 hour shifts, I needed this.
Get after it man! - Dr. Mike
I've just seen an advert for functional patterns before this video. I love the idea that Naldi is paying Dr Mikes video
"I don't even wipe any more" lolol
12:28 Gynaecologist Mike
lmao you are amazing mike. BIG respect brother
By the way I love life fitness machines for the most part. They have the best leg extension and seated leg curl . Really good. Eagle isn’t bad either
when cutting/starting a fat loss phase after a deload and maintenance calories, do you still just start your program with MEV and 2-4 rir (all the regular stuff) while in a deficit?
I'm going to do this workout today. Will let you all know about my pain
WHAT A WORKOUT!!! That's what I'm ALL about! See how slow that eccentric was?! Yeah buddy!
Burlington, about 45 minutes down the highway from me.
We only have 1 lying leg curl at my gym, will have to check if it allows that extra rom
When will the Jeff Nippard collab be released?
This was something else , shit ! INTENSE
Legit bromance!
Baller workout!
new research on training close to failure dropped. Can you examine it in a video? thanks
He won't. Destroys the entire point of the app algorithm.
@@meduros The app algorithms work 100% irrespective of failure proximity. In fact, most of them would work better if we could just tell everyone to train to failure. - Dr. Mike
I don't typically review new research as taking all of the research (new and old) into account is usually superior. I will say this: training closer to failure in any given session is superior but you should keep fatigue in mind and start most mesos at around 3 RIR, possibly 2 RIR if you're more advanced. - Dr. Mike
@@RenaissancePeriodization But I would then have to ignore the RIR targets right? isnt that kind of the point of having an accumulation + deload meso? Or will a feature for low volume failure training be added eventually?
Mad respect for @TristnLee. JonniShreve and TristynLee collaboration is Awesome!
jonni has never been so exhausted :D
i dont even wipe anymore
Essentially a perfect leg day pre workout
Dr. Mike x Tren Twins when?????
My hometown!
I honestly can't wait to try this workout for myself.
Please can we get Dr Mike and Mike Van Wyck together 🙏🏻
12:53 something about Mike saying amazing definitely have me some strong Homelander vibes... Was that intentional?
12:50 sounds like the leaked yeat ad libs
When is the app coming out?
The take it all in part spoke directly to my soul, especially right after that sex analogy.
didn't i see this video before
The best pause was the one after "I dont even wipe anymore"
Poor guy on the leg press next to them must have been so nervous. I’d have my knees behind my head before I do any partials
question: If a joint is the limiting factor of the range of motion. Like with the leg curl your knee stops your ankles from going further down. Then does the weighted stretch really target the muscle and not the join? At the ultimate bottom ofcourse
Scary just looking at it.
What pads do you put behind your back? Can you give me a brand or a type? Love to put in in my gym bag and use it
Seeing the pain gave me pump 😢😢😢😢😢
14:38 LMFAO
Thats true man XDFXD XD
Peak Dr. Mike analogy.
The trick with placing the foam pad under the lower back is great. However my limiting factor seems to be that if I bring my legs through the full range of motion like these guys were I seem to have a lot of tension/pain in my lower back. Any recommendations for that?
Weightlifting shoes.
Those are some humble gentleman
i don't even wipe anymore 😂
