TERENCE BLANCHARD IS FOR ME TODAY MY MAN ON THE TRUMPET AND HIS TONE IS SONIC BLISS , AND OF ALL THE YOUNG LION,S OF JAZZ OVER THE LAST THIRTY YEAR,S HE,S IT MAN.
One of my favorite trumpet jazz stars. And l love his sound on the trumpet the most. My grandfather was bunny berigan. Diffrent sound from bunnys. More smooth and free. Terrace is the genius of the, trumpet and jazz.
Not sure where Fabian was for this jam session, but the fact that Terence can dial up Taylor for the piano speaks to his considerable respect amongst the most talented jazz musicians of the moment. Great version of this composition.
Old man Terrence looking hip with his wardrobe and 30k trumpet 🎺🤓.... A trumpet question: from this performance, he never pull out the 3rd valve slide to adjust for intonation on the low notes like I was taught. I wonder if Monette s horns are the most in tune.🤔🎶
I watched this video because I thought Terence Blanchard's Trumpet looked cool and I wanted to get a better look at it, but I was disappointed because he tends to stay pretty still so I couldn't get all of the angles.
Elijah Buscho watch other videos of him playing. In some, he gets very emotional and it's a joy to watch as he plays and moves with the flow. Then you'll be able to see the horn (a raja by monette) and him move with it. I've always loved the design of it, too.
Nice tune and it sounds great; but if the guitar is just going to mime the pianist's left hand phrasings then honestly why is he there: just to solo? The solo was very nice but it would be nice if the rhythm work were adding interesting percussive accents/embellishing with alternate voicings. Not trying to critique the work it's just my foremost impression at first listen.
Homie on the keys straight slays.
Miles would be proud of this man .💯
Killer. Soft, elegant and yet so powerful.
Charles Altura One of The Best Right Now

So relax, smooth and in tune…thanks
Jazz....its own language. An aural mystery that when discovered, still leaves me in a state of ponderance. I love this music.
An aural mystery... well said, Jamaal.
New to this man and music and totally blown away
Beautiful. Love Terence's Horn tone....Great Jazz!
Thanks for watching!

Gotta love love the way Terence holds his axe! Lol!!!!
It was Miles Davis who said it says a lot about the player, how he holds his axe.

Taylor Eigsti damn
👍
That trash cymbal sounds phenomenal.
I bet that stack cost like $1,000 by itself. Looks like at least 4 cymbals, and I'm willing to bet it's not 4 ZBTs. :) Does sound very cool.

Only need to pull out for C# and D. Those two notes are rarely played in this song.
Jazz.....what can you say.

Anyone know what trumpet that is?
Monette

Elijah Buscho Go on Monette's website! You have it there!

Trumpets where the mouthpiece looks like its seemlessly going over into the trumpet makes me nervous.
Monette trumpet. The mouthpiece screws directly in.

Sometimes two instruments playing the same thing gives it a new sound, a new texture so to speak.
Maybe that’s what they were going for?
could have been perfect, if only the pianist had changed his shoes
omg
are you serious I hadn't even noticed. Once it's the shoes, the next it's the backing singer's shoes. shut it. right?! HA
@@BrunoNeureiter relax dude, it was a joke, it's pretty obvious that nobody cares about shoes with such a great music. But just chill a bit ahaha
@@muy4397 are you black by chance?
@@BrunoNeureiter no why?
Pretty boring. This must be what the pseudo-jazz called "smooth jazz" sounds like.
Why is Jazz dead??? Please explain
