It's been six years, but I still keep going back to this piano solo.
brooooooo it was sooo good
He murked that fo sho! I thought Braxton on the 🎷 was dope too!
Is he also the main inspiration of the Pixar movie "soul"!
I thought that too, the solo just keeps climbing@@merljns
Good
Each solo is incredible but the piano is another level
Piano has moments of McCoy Tyner, Horace Silver and others a joy to witness young generations substantively doing superbly.
Lawrence Fields is in da house!
Young, gifted and stepping up. The legacy is for those who recognize its value and claim it.
Love seeing, hearing this....👍🏼
That piano solo was on another wave haha
pianist just completely left the planet for a second there, what a sick solo!
This is my ALL TIME FAVORITE tune by Coltrane....and they KILLED it. Excellent respect shown to a jazz GOD.
They surely have understood what John Coltrane had in mind when he composed and performed EQUINOX.
Piano and drummer are making it happen. What a rhythmic foundation!
Kris Funn on the bass plays so tastefully. Great musos all round
It is nice to see that these young musicians are working with the acoustic jazz format.
Exactly! Young people with strange hairs and a great love for jazz.
gilouseb lol
Lol what are we considering young??
He has Miles' sound, Dizzy's horn, and Freddie Hubbard's attitude.
He is a great player for sure, but dresses like a rapper :-(
Marco Oselini
Don't judge
hes a rapper... judge him af
It's kinda weird that he sounds that much like Miles actually. 5:18 sounds straight outta Miles Smiles.
I disagree that he has miles sound
Coltrane would be proud
Both Alice, John, even Ravi & Michelle.
Agreed. Beautiful rendition.
Really wonderful!!! One of my favorite Coltrane tunes.
Smooth and inventive .......AND PURE PRAISE TO ITS CREATIVE GENIUS. ALL OF THESE GREAT MUSICIANS.
Great work!!!! ....thanks!!! ... jazz is not dead :-)))
I love all of them all the old greats would be proud.
I keep coming back for that magical shift at 9:45 and the "oh" face seconds later at 9:49
Braxton Cook is such a monster, I found out about him about 5 months ago and I'm glad I did!
I just had the same moment that you described above^^ That solo was incredible!
Love it when they claim it for themselves ❤
Lawrence Fields always steal the show when he on keys...
Love this rendition!
that piano solo...
Robert Schroeck that’s my friend Lawrence , he is amazing
out of this fucking world
close your eyes, feel the music, the band is young and will have a great future. Amazing performance. They love jazz....
my favorite music of coltrane
very good version
Magnifique interprétation du grand Coltrane un très beau hommage du très haut niveau de Jazz
Great 😊😊😊👌 group of talented young musicians.
Beautiful rendition
the piano player is an alien , damn ...
That's awesome what a performance all the band nice vibe and Elena beautiful lady by the way
Great solos & ensemble passages.
Very good performance of a John Coltrane original.
Check that support on the trumpet that goes from the bell to the body - it's straight up got a bottle opener at the end! Love these guys!
beautiful
just awesome I get the same feeling like I'm listening to Miles Davis
Rapaz jovem toca maravilhosa mente com alma
That fuckin piano player! Took me on an odyssey. The whole thing was unbelievable, but the piano dropped my jaw
Excellent!
His playing reminds me of the acoustic Miles Davis. The upturned bell reminds me of Dizzy Gillespie.
Everyone Else: Plays into their mic
Chrisitan Scott: Say what?
You are one of the master bassman from this errah bro!
Great musicians...the new generation
Braxton Cook was in Bergen, Norway and played in the MARQUIS HILL BLACKTET.
Hope to see you in Norway some day.
Guys you've got to do the UK! Young, talented and making those gone proud!
Sweet sound
9:48 the best face note!
Juan Rivas priceless comment!
"Wot??? Major? OK, I'm down!"
Lawrence! and also braxton's tone!
pure magic!
Браво!
Nice... liked the piano solo!
So good
This is my new fav video on youtube. Previous one was Jacob Collier and Daniel Ceasar’s Best Part in that concert at Canada
They feel the music
I love song
Trane was highly spiritual man(mind) so in turn it takes a spiritual person to reveal their interpretations. Awesome work from all. To be young, gifted and black is such a beautiful PRIVILEGE.
Amo amo amo
i hear Kenny Garret vibe on the saxophonist here
Wahyu Satrio Ardiko melhor ainda
I think he is hearing Kenny's solo in his mind, and he was trying to avoid playing it at first. Idk my guess
Awesomeee!
Coltrane!!!
So tasteful my god
Monster musicians
The brutha left his BLOOD on that piano !!!
That piano solo though.. Damn!
Harry Bosch led me to discover these awesome musicians.
Once again I just witnessed Greatness, and heard Sublime music!!! I totally dig every version of this CLASSIC, but My question though is why don't the Bass player ever get a solo, nor the very beautiful lady flutist???!
He played that trumpet solo as if his life was in the balance. I am here in the Bay Area looking for a place like this. This place used to be the very essence of hip.
Pianoooooo.....Merhn what a solo...god level. Merhn these cats bad!
Sista be fine! Nice version of Equinox!!! 'Alto player' doing his Kenny Garrett thing.
After Trane, it's the best version ever heard
Love this version. Also, check Khan Jamal's version from The Traveller album (on RUclips).
Stumbled on this by accident while learning Equinox. This band is totally amazing. And the best part is they are young and seriously cool. Hope they attract a new younger audience to jazz. I am off to buy the album anyway.
I am a piano player too and especially love the way the piano player eases his way in and out of the box in a way that so intrigues the listener. But the they are all fantastic and of course the girl is stunning. Got to mention her.
If Lawrence Fields was a Stock, I would buy Millions of them
This is so fuckin good
What a fucking band😍🙌🏼
And the flute solo??
Yeah tough. Elena doesn't often sit out however. Hands down the best flute player alive rn.
wow
trompete ist so geil!!! jeahhhh geil!!! super band
Reminds me of one of Miles Davis's innovative groups.
Je cherche la vidéo de ce concert en entier
like da bass
Braxton Cook's tone sounds more like Kenny Garett but i'm ok with that, still great.
Same here
zarpados en swing guacho
At 4:14 I hear miles...damn
やはり、bloodtype O man color`sのクリスチャンスコットtp彼が 超いいね!

How many likes can the sax player's shirt get?
A MILLION miles of respect for this! It inspires me to get back on my keyboard. And the floutist... caramel baddie 👌🏽👈🏽
does someone know what's happening with the bassist at 1:15?
Pianist was nice 🔥
Where is the entire concert ???
6:51 piano solo 🎹
クリスチャンスコットtpバンド,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,ありがとう
Well performed! Whoever likes this piece should listen to Pharoah Sanders version.
Uhulllll
I personally think he's using Miles' collaboration and organization skills as well as space. Very contemporary.
seriously hot
Puts me in the mind of luke cage
a lot of the songs used in that show sound like this.
Toxix-Fox95 Well it's appropriate the show is set in Harlem, an important place for jazz.
0:34
