- After days of preparation, we're finally replacing beams. With one down, we've got many left to go. Structural retrofits like this can take a long time to complete, but give the building the structural integrity it needs to stand for decades to come. PSL, LVL, LSL structural material will be used to construct this 3-story home into someone's dream home.

What I like in this build is that there is a lot of interaction between the team members. Hearing Matt say 'great idea' (or good idea) to a suggestion shows that there is appreciation of suggestions made by the guys.
Matt, get the black Makita Multi-Tool. That thing is a beast! It's faster, quieter and less vibration than the green ones.
Yup! I have both and the new all black one is way better!
Glad u guys survived the great GB tornado of 24!
Wasn't on my bingo card... but here we are!
Minds in action! Team work! Great job!🥵🤩👌👍
And the skill worm drives 77 are heavey. Still got mine for projects
Tornado 🌪 1, Matt 0 😱 = pineapple 🍍. 😎✌️
Good stuff Matt! You are a great leader complimenting your crew for good ideas. I was always taught to criticize in private and compliment in public. I like the old skillsaw and had a really old school worm drive with a metal handle in the early 90's. I thought it was the coolest thing until some burglar broke into all the work trucks at the shop and stole it. Company bought me a new one but it was the plastic version. I should have made it a museum piece back then and would still have it.
I found an old porter cable sidewinder at the dump.
All metal body, aluminum and steel, was even in it's metal carrying crate
Lucky find!
Hey Matt, 1 ton chain blocks and come alongs would have been perfect here 🤣
I know! I wish..
She’s a keeper!!
My good friends father in law passed away years ago and left a Craftsman worm drive saw including the box and manual. He had no use for it and gave it to me. Looks damn new, but heavy AF! I’ll stick to using my cordless Makita 36 volt.
You're gonna be able to pass that saw to your son in laws friend.
I love my dad's old Sears Craftsman tools. Walter too. And lots of random West Germany tools too.
i still have one of them old worm drive skil saws, and love it,then again Iam an old guy like your dad
Great video
I enjoy watching your builds Matt. I was in GC when the tornado F1 hit on Grand between 4th and 9th. My first tornado ever.i lived in Lompoc and worked out on VAFB and saw a couple funnels/ tornado but encountered tornado until now. Pretty scary my friend!
It wasn't anything to joke around with, that's for sure. My family is down in Grover, Larry and Alex too. It was quite something seeing it rip through our little area.
Slick-6 out at VAFB was where my Dad worked for a few years, small world!
I still run a mag 77 when we have power.
What’s the reason? Just preference?
I live in DFW Texas tornado's are a part of life but when I was little I lived in the panhandle everyone had storm shelters we had to get in it many times. But that saw weighed around sixty pounds on Friday's but no kickback at least I never had one.
For me I would have gone to Harbor Freight and bought couple chain hoist to help me install the beams.
Not a bad idea! I have a Genie Lift I’ll bring out soon to show, helps me move beams around.
You did great sir! ❤😊 watching from Philippines🇵🇭
Matt if you want to see tools Seven Corners Hardware in St Paul Minnesota is loaded
Is Seven Corners “Acme Tools”?
Lived up there 45 years ago. 7 Corners was legendary even back then!
HEY KIDS !!
nice video, really like your work. but come on Matt roll the tape, always roll the tape. hahahahahha
Woah woah, you didn't see anything! Haha
I really enjoy playing your videos whilst I do my bean counting. They're a great background distraction as well as informative. But I gotta say that the accompanying music could either be tuned down a bit or just omitted altogether. just referring to the stock rock muzac.
That's just my .02😎
Will let editor know, thanks!
Old mates hammer flopping about in the back of his nail bag is really effecting my anxiety.
I give him crap for it all the time, there's no way that is comfortable.
Holy crap, 350???!?! Mine is 699 :(. I'd pick that up in a heart beat too!!!
I thought it was a deal, there was only 2 in stock at ours..
Hey Matt, love your videos. I was wondering what your opinion of modular buildings, or “prefab” were. what your thoughts on it were versus the traditional way of building.
Fun
Definitely looks like a fun and challenging job. Engineers hardly ever call out psl in nor cal. Lvl is the way to go. Great call on substitution. I thought max width on psl is 5 1/4"?
Really? We get 5-1/4” and 7-1/4” PSL call outs all the time. I enjoy swapping singles as opposed to the big boys.
Where is the tornado??? Cap
I wouldn’t lie about something.. 🤣 Here’s a link: ruclips.net/video/UZEjbYO_s9I/видео.htmlsi=GtCV6xf6EnbuNk9Q
Tornado Hits California. Nature still trying to clear out liberals. !!!
I hate the back ground music.
Too loud? Too quiet? Wrong music taste? What changes?
