I have bought FREEDOM 3 different times in 3 different colors, but just could not get her to work for me. I still say you are definitely one of (if not the) best wig reviewer on RUclips, and after seeing you with FREEDOM, I may just try her again. Thanks for your thoroughness.
Hi Tanda!!! Thank you so very much for your kind words! I totally get what you're saying about buying a wig several times and sending it back!!! (I hate to admit it, but I've done that too many times!) One thing I found with Freedom is that when she first arrives, she's way to full on top for my liking (she looks top-heavy). What I do is take time to coax her to lay a little flatter (I comb through the permatease on the whole crown to reduce it a little bit). That way I don't look like I've got a helmet on and she looks a little bit better on my head. Then I make sure to trim the bangs and comb through the rest of the wig to get her to lay down a little more on the upper back and sides. That way she still has the potential for all that lift, but she can still lay down some. If this encourages you to try her again, I really hope that she works for you. She is an amazing wig and super nice for summertime! Thank you so much for watching and commenting! I've had to thin some of my wigs out, I googled a tutorial for achieving this. $13 approx for the thinning shear kit at Walmart. 🙂

I’ve only bought Paula Young and a few Amazon wigs. I just can’t afford to spend a fortune on only one, lol. My favorite GSW styles are Jenna, and I have to say, Freedom. I enjoy watching Rochelle and Danielle in their videos. I love the color, I think it’s chocolate swirl, with the highlights around the face. I mostly get brunette colors, but I’m getting more into the lighter shades, like the haircube wig and the Tishining wigs. (I still love Amazon wig #2). I’m trying real hard to let my gray grow out. I’ve got about 2 inches of white roots now. Oh brother. No salt and pepper for me, right to salt, lol. Anyway, I love your reviews, you are so genuine, and funny. Take care PS it’s good to know about the average in GSW. I would definitely get a wig available in a large size. My circumference is 23” 🥰
Hi again, @@debbiehall4155!!! I grew out my hair by wearing wigs and it worked really well. During that time, I also wore a lot of toppers because it hid the grow out so well and I still got to wear my dyed color for a long time! Have you tried that yet? Thank you, Vivian!!! Lacy was my very first GSW more than 3 years ago!!! She's a lot like Abigail in the style with a side-swept bang and longer sides, short nape; but no lace front. Freedom is what I call a workhorse. So versatile, easy to shake and go, or spend some time giving her that "Va-va-Voom!" She's a little more Shag-like, so if you don't mind the extra layers vs. the smooth appearances of Abigail and Lacy, she'd be a great addition to anyone's wig wardrobe! It took me awhile to get used to her and find my style, but I really do like her for a shorter (but not pixie) style. Anyway, good luck with your purchase, no matter what you get!!! Hugs! ~ Coco
I just got my Freedom in Silverstone and it is PERFECTION. I have tried to get other wigs and either can't tell color or style by websites (foam head and thumbnail color) I was so disappointed when they came. GS has so many wonderful videos i was able to really tell. It moves feels and looks like real hair. Color is amazing. I'm so happy. I am going through chemo.

I have worn wigs, full time, since 2016. Godivas Secret wigs are my favs for style and colors. They are the best made, and more long lasting than any other wigs I have worn and I do wear name brands. I have recently decided to go gray and they have sandy silver which is darker on the neck and lighter around the face.
Freedom is one of my favorites but I would not call it a pixie. It was my first favorite and I wore it in a frosted brown forever. It looks great on you, both the style and the color. Love the color! I do like it behind my ears and close to my neck. GS wigs are the best.
Fyi….I do have wig hair spray but almost never use it. My fingers and water do the job for me.

You look great in Freedom! I’ve not purchased any Godiva’s wigs due to the price. My husband and I are 75 and on a fixed income so I try to keep the cost much lower. But this is such a cute little wig. I really enjoy your videos. You’re just adorable! 💕

You know if you're up for a Paula Young wig, you could get similar look from Amie or Leslie but they are both a little longer than Freedom. I like wigs that have a little less hair because I am 79 and I can tell right away when i see an older lady with a lot of hair that it says wig. This wig looks very natural on you by the way…
Hi Sunshine Girl!! I will admit that Freedom does come with quite a bit of permatease and that can feel overwhelming (not to mention looking like a helmet!!!) Tia one didn’t seem to have as much but I still had to work on combing through her and pressing her down a bit to get rid of the helmet look! I have never used this brand but as you mentionned, the colors echo classic Aderans colors (Rene of Paris, Noriko, Amore.) Those brands have changed and expanded their colors so Frosti Blond is not offered in many of their wigs. But the Noriko Sky, for which Freedom seems to be an exact dupe, is still offered in Frosti Blond and probably Harvest Gold as far as I know. Noriko wigs also last forever and have a similar cap construction. The main difference is they run small so are better for Petite/Average heads. I do not know if they have a large version of Sky now but they did not used to. This is a cute wig but I wonder, aside from being offered in Large, are there any real differences between Freedom and Sky? Noriko like Godiva"s Secret is also more pricey but discounts and sales abound.
Hi Libby! Thank you so much for taking the time to comment!! You seem to know quite a bit about the changes in colors offered for Noriko wigs!!! Yes, Noriko does run a bit snug on an average head (mine for sure!). I do know that GSW wigs go on sale (20-25% off) every so often, but they sometimes center around a holiday (Mother's Day) or their anniversary or even other celebrations, but certainly not as often as we will see Noriko/Amore/RofP! I don't know first-hand whether there is much other differences between Sky and Freedom, but I think I should just take the plunge and get a Sky to compare to Freedom, don't you? @@cocoshairsolutions I have Freedom in Iced Mocha. I also wear Sabrina. I have a few others too. Their wigs are beautiful, natural and so well made. For a synthetic wig it’s amazing how many compliments I get on my hair!
Like Tanda I also bought Freedom. I’ve worked on it a lot. Mine seems to be a lot longer in back and sides. I’ve trimmed the bangs and sides in front of my ears. The back actually lays over my collars. I bought it in Silverstone and love the color. I think your video is very helpful gives more ideas on how to work with it. I want to like it so hopefully I can use your hints and get there. Thanks!
Hi Cindy!!! It sounds like you've done quite a bit of customizing on her--did you do it yourself or have your hairdresser do it? Hopefully some of the things I suggested might be of help to you. I do know that I like to tame this girl down by combing through the permatease to help reduce so much volume. Not quite ready for Dolly Parton hair yet!!! Greetings Good JuJu Slots-a-lot!!!! I have seen Freedom on sale (as well as all their other wigs), usually 1-2x per year they will offer 20-25% off all wigs!!! Usually it's due to a holiday (Mother's Day) or a special event (their anniversary). You can be notified via email if you register for these notifications online at their website, or if you subscribe to their channel, they'll usually create a RUclips Short video to announce it. So if you're willing to wait for a sale, it'll happen at some point. I'm not sure when the next one will be, so I would call them and ask if they know when they'll be offering their next sale! “Freedom” is an ever-so-slightly shorter version of Paula Young’s “Amie.” I have both, and except for the label, they are almost indistinguishable.

Hi Coco, thanks so much for reviewing Freedom by GSW. It does resemble Toni Brattin’s Trendsetter which I have although the sides are longer on Trendsetter. I love the Frosti Blonde color and would choose it for sure if and when I decide to purchase this one. Of course as always, you do a super video review. Great work!🥰

Idk there's GOT to be something about my head or my face or something that makes these wigs look SO different on me :-/ I tried Freedom - I just love her! - but, like so many other ones I try (mostly PY but other brands, too) they look soooo different on me! Unless I just keep get off-quality ones. Godiva wigs are such nice quality, but they just don't seem to work for me. I'd love to have my "dream hair" lmao but it just doesn't suit me :-/ (long, red, and curly - woo woo!). Anyhow, she looks great on you! Freedom looks like Calla in a way, How would you compare the two. I am gray and considering Freedom in (I think) Moonlight. All of my darker PY wigs don't look right on me anymore. Love your videos and 'haunt' them almost daily.
Thank you, Judith! I would say that Calla is definitely a shorter version of Freedom. Calla has more layers all over the head where Freedom has longer layers on top. You're very welcome, Norma!!! I use Almay Black Pearl on my water line and then I set it with a powdered black eye shadow on an angled brush. Then I use L'Oreal Infallible gel pencil on my eyelid. I have a video from awhile ago that shows exactly how I do my eye makeup and you can find it here:

I have a freedom wig. Bought it when I could afford it. Today their wigs are to expensive from me. I found that this wig is not for me. I find the Paula wigs fit me better. I do love watching their videos. I have learned a lot from you. I do have a question for you. If you are outside in the sun with your synthetic wig for long time will that hurt the fibers?
Greetings, Francine!!! I have to agree with you on the fit of PY wigs over the GSW wigs. They (PY wigs) are more generous in size and tend to be less stiff and "stretchier," so they feel less constricting on me and I can wear them longer. With this being said, I do find that sometimes I will get a GSW wig that fits my 'larger-than-average-but-not-quite-a-large-size' head just right (but that's not usually the case). In answer to your question, it's my experience that if you expose your wigs in the direct sunlight for a day, it should be fine with some TLC at the end of the day to refresh, recondition and re-moisturize your wig. The color will not change and the fibers should be just fine. But if this a daily occurrence, the constant exposure to UV rays, heat, possibly wind, and possibly your own perspiration will definitely wear down your fibers a bit faster and require a bit more drastic restorative steps (e.g., steam treatment) to keep those fibers looking smooth and fresh. Another alternative is to choose a less expensive wig (Amazon has some very cute wigs for around $20! See my video library for some of these) to use on these occasions so that you reserve your best ($$$) wigs for a more protected environment. I hope this helps!!! I have bought 3 different Godiva wigs and they are just too shiny. I am new to wigs and I know it takes a bit . Does the shine go away a bit and does Dry shampoo work to dull it?
Hi Catherine!! Welcome to the world of wigs and to my channel!! Yes! The shininess is due to the silicone product they put on wigs to keep the fibers smooth and feeling silky during shipment and storage. This can easily be remedied by spraying the wigs lightly with a dry shampoo. My favorite brand is dry shampoo is Batiste. They make different colors to use on blonde and brown hair, so it won’t leave any kind of obvious residue. Sometimes a new wig might feel like there’s a lot of this silicone product on itand I’ve heard that simply rinsing the wig thoroughly in cold water and let it dry hanging upside down will help remove the excess. I got two toppers from Godiva, A long top in creamy toffee R And one medium in Nutmeg R. Which I almost kept. The wig was Alana, it was too small for me. , I was just nervous being my first wig not knowing if it would stretch out or not it's a lot of money if it doesn't work out. I just bought a Paula Young wig today. Very affordable and I thought I could play with it and if it didn't work out Not a big loss. My thinking was It is a good way to get use to one that I didn't have to return because of price. I got Dahlia in sun kissed versa fiber. It is a cute bob. Razor cut. I will let you know. Coco you said Noriko has the same names. I have a Noriko sky which is gsw freedom. I’ve not seen any gsw names in the Noriko line that’s the same 19:09

Coco, do you ever tease your wigs, and would it hurt the hair fibers to do that?
Hi Jan! I will tease them when I want them to stay in a certain shape or when I want more volume in a certain area. I don't think it will hurt the fibers unless you really do tight teasing and use product on it. But otherwise, it should be fine! Hugs, Coco

I just bought a Freedom. I'm 5'10" and you'd think a full wig would suit me but it seems too long in the back and way too full on the top. I'll work on it but I am a little disappointed in the fit.
Hi Pat! Freedom can sometimes be a very full girl on top. If you like the length of the top but not the fullness, then I would begin working on compressing the permatease in the areas you're wanting less fullness. This may take repeated applications of a LITTLE heat and pressure. Last resort would be thinning shears used VERY sparingly. If it's too long in the back, a simple trim is an easy fix. I tried 2 Godiva's wig, even one in a large size. They run too small for a 22.5" head. FYI That brand is made by Noriko, which is also too small for a bigger head.

@@cocoshairsolutions Yes, I cut the adjusters on all my wigs. Godiva wigs are made by the same provider as Noriko and Amore. They are all too small for me (and I wear a wig grip also). Oh well.

You're over thinking this review. I have had several Freedom wigs the last five years. Just shake and wear. I hate the headband look.
Godiva’s Secret Wigs uses other brands and white labels them, allegedly. Freedom’s colors are the same as Noriko’s because it IS Noriko, imo.
Godiva’s Secret Wigs is a great company with a fabulous return policy and an extensive library of wig videos. It was one of their videos and one of their wigs that got me out of the house at the beginning of my wig journey.
Having said that, imo, they need to be upfront about the white labeling.
