The C6 ZR1 is undoubtedly the most impressive C6, but I actually prefer the N/A Z06. The LS9 is really good for straight line racing, but the balance of the 7 liter V8 in the Z06 is amazing. You add a fat cam, new heads, and a full exhaust system and you’re hitting 600+ hp NATURALLY ASPIRATED. All this in the price range of 30-40k. The C6 Z06 is a drivers car.
They barely made any C6 ZR1s anyway. I've only ever seen 2 and I have gone to car meets all the time.

A couple of years ago when I bought my C6 ZO6 they were 4 c6 ZR1 at the dealership all in a line

Tiff, you are the king. I've come back and watched this video several times because I enjoy it so much. I was going to get one of these used until I felt what a c7 did and had to spend the extra money.

I usually don't like American cars but I've always loved the Corvette, and especially the C5 and C6 generations as those are the ones I grew up with.

Me as well! I wish he drove the c7 zo6 and zr1! If he loved the c6 imagine what he would of thought of the c7 zr1 manual!!!! The c7 is the best looking front engine sports car ever made! I don't care what anyone says and look at the Ferrari f12 and the 812! Straight copy of the c6 and c7 vette! Especially when you look at there predisesser the gto of looks completely different to the f12! Love tiff and the vette!

My black 2005 Jaguar XKR coupe is a sophisticated, drop dead gorgeous, blue-eyed brunette, in a strapless cocktail dress, pearl necklace, high heels, and an English accent. My 2008 C6 coupe in crystal red over cashmere is a barefooted, green-eyed, strawberry blonde from the American heartland, wearing cut-off jeans, a wet t-shirt, and legs that go all the way up. I am in love with them both.

I contend that the C6Z06 is still dollar for dollar the best track car money can buy today. Although I am a little bias. I'm on number two...
I don't understand why the floor is made of wood, when they are using aluminum for the frame, carbon fiber, etc. Doesn't make sense to me, can someone explain it to me?

How much better is it suspension/chassis wise than a regular C6? If I get around to buying a C6 I'd like to own a regular C6 for a while just to learn what I'm really getting when I buy the Z06

Corvette has been keeping America name in Honour throughout the years. Building driver's cars that can challenge european supercars with a fraction of the price.
GM is too embarrassed to put the chevy logo on a car as good as the corvette
I'm glad Tiff liked it. I'm not a what you'd call a fan of the Corvette. But I'm glad GM is at least trying to compete with the Europeans.
Z06 crushed the majority of European cars at that point.....
Believe me, they compete with this beast
Z07 package makes a difference on these cars.

Balsa wood is used for sound dampening... body/chassis is actually made from magnesium, aluminium and Carbon fiber.

It was always a matter of time B4 the Americans moved into the super car market, either pay through the nose for a high revving European S car with its astronomical service n repair bills or get an American big block 2 million up to 10 million just taking the piss well done America

@@Big_Black_Dick There was no 488gtb or Huracan when this C6 Z06 vette came out though. Back in 2006 500 hp was the norm for supercars.
Why they insiste in the test cars drifting??? Its always the same images. Dificult is to do a fast and efficient lap time to see what cars can do.

I am so effing sick of European automotive journalists deriding American interiors, they may not look as nice initialy, and the quality of the materials may seem "cheap" but they dont fall apart like BMW, Audi and Mercedes interiors.
As a car enthusiast i have owned and driven everything from a Ferrari California, to BMW M3's and M4's to Mercedes AMG missile wagons and one thing i can say is that the interiors of my American cars aren't f***ing falling apart like the European vehicles are.
My 2011 BMW 335i interior was falling to pieces, adhesives giving way, touch surfaces rubbing off.
On my Mercedes S class the Interior squeaks, rattles and crunches over bumps and anytime you touch the dashboard or try to adjust the air vents, it is terrible.
European (German) cars might have a higher initial interior quality but they just fall apart in an appalling manner.
My beater 2000 Chevrolet Malibu LS has a damn near immaculate interior after 25 years, American interiors are built to last, they might not be as "luxurious" feeling, but they damn sure are more durable.
If you guys thought this was impressive,then you might want to consider giving the C7 Z06 a go....
Had both the c6 is a better track car then the c7 better power to weight ratio...

Amazing car, but graphics on head up display is the same as the one on Commodore 64 or Amiga 500. Other than that muscle and fine car.
Still cutting edge at the time. It takes more tech and money to get full color, hi-res displays. HUDs have improved in Corvettes and other cars since then.
Pretty impressive technology for a 2006 really.

@@camonly849 USA doesn't have federal sales tax = no tax on the retail price of cars, some states you pay no sales tax. In Australia corvetre z06 $230000aud new
@@coopsnz1 even sales tax is just ridiculous in some countries. My 06 Z with 9970 miles was 35k here. Private seller, payed taxes on 10,000
