I didn't mention in the vid but there are c-stick buttons which I can map to tilt, but the suggested way is to leave them on smash. But yeah lots of buttons that are all fun to press regardless :)
I play on Hitbox, and it's not as simple as "This controller is easier than this one." I don't play Smash, but from my experience, there are a lot of pros and cons to switching. And honestly, when I first got my Hitbox, I didn't use it for almost an entire year because I didn't like how it felt. It felt weird, unintuitive, awkward, and just not very fun. I liked fight stick. After having people suggest I try it and give it two weeks, I did and it slowly grew on me. But I still struggle with inputs. I can't do a full circle input at all. My left side ring finger is very weak which means to do a quarter circle input, I have to roll my fingers over the buttons. It's not just, "Hitbox is EZ. GG." And for people who say it's cheating, they had better had some tournament trophies under their belt. Because that's the biggest compliment you can give a controller for a fighting game.
I agree! I was curious to see how the b0xx experience was after hearing the controversy behind it and as I mentioned in the video there are things such as the button mapping that I'm still trying to get used to. Up movements are also a hard one for me since that involves the pinky finger.
@@mainbeach Yeah, I'm not gonna lie. While watching the video, I had no idea what you were talking about because I don't understand Smash stuff. I remember when I went to buy my Hitbox, there was a Smash version, and I was thinking, "How the heck do you even play on this? Why are there 50 buttons?" I just assumed that maybe people placed their hands in different spots or something. It still looks very foreign to me since I only have 12 buttons compared to your 20.
Haha that's fair. Maybe I'm not using the b0xx to its full potential but I don't use the top row of buttons on the right side so I'm really worrying about 16 (maybe more like 15 cuz start button) buttons.

I bought a smash box cuz I main kazuya and it def made me better with him but at times I would go back to gcc. You can say I mastered his wavuwavu, and ewgf so felt like I no longer needed the smash box. When using the smash box and switching to gcc your fingers are used up, so doing wavu and electrics became easier, so did movement. Only thing the smash box did for me was spam electrics and easier wavus but had trouble recovering and moving around the stage with box. I sold it for 200$. Just stick to gcc if you've been practicing, if you're a new kazuya main and struggle a lot then smash box is the way. Warning getting a smash box is going to be weird its like playing the game all over again you have to learn from scratch
But for Ultimate? Doees it even matter for Ultimate? As someone who enjoys both games i wanna kill myself everytime i drop a combo in Melee cause i'm just using an OEM controller and it's inconsistent, Ultimate i can play with joycons and still win. lmao
I know the b0xx was originally made for Melee and can't speak for the consistency difference between those two games. But I can say that it is A LOT more comfortable for me to play b0xx where I can play longer sessions without my hands wanting to fall off. And my inputs do feel snappier on b0xx as well... can't play with joycons HA.
