I honestly really appreciate that Galeem/Darkhon is actually a triple threat. I think it is a fitting Smash Bros. Final boss fight. The whole point is that Smash isn’t a 1v1 fight, so how fitting that the final boss isn’t one either. And the game does make it clear that they aren’t just dealing incidental damage to each other, they are ACTIVELY trying to kill each other, and will indeed die so at the earliest opportunity.
This! It's not the most fun boss fight, but it felt very much like the quintessential smash experience distilled into a boss fight. Moves flying all over the place, everyone getting clobbered, and almost trying to survive and get hits in to be the last one standing, rather than specifically trying to kill a target.
As a monster hunter fan, I absolutely love rathalos' fight in smash and how it references monster hunter mechanics. The deku nut only working when it hits him in the head similar to how blunt weapons or certain attacks from other weapons deal stun damage when hit on the head, causing monsters to be knocked down. The pitfall being a reference to the pitfall traps, been using the same animation with him being buried and flailing around. The bombs and explosive barrels being refences to barrel bombs which can be placed and later detonated by either the players or monsters attacking it. It's attacks are also mostly directly ripped from his various fights in the monster hunter series
Imma be a Monster Hunter nerd for a moment so bear with me. Rathalos in smash is pretty accurate to its home series version. The attacks done are mostly taken straight from the games (tail whip turn around, the dash into laying down, even the increased airtime after taking some damage and the flying claw attacks), with very small tweaks for adaptation's sake (specifically the shooting fireball from the background move). The animations are pretty similar too. Even the Deku nuts act as substitute for flashbombs (they normally work when thrown in front of the monster, not directly on the head but that's fine too) and Pitfall traps acting like stuns while it's in the air and ... Well, pitfall traps is very cool. Small stuff like the bomb barrels and the fighting arena are icing on the cake to me. Marxx is still gonna be one of my favourite tho.
I was very surprised to see that master hand has like 2x the amount of attacks that I thought he did, I've never seen a bunch of the projectile attacks nore the bouncing lasers, it's super weird seeing them here lol, guess the fight was so short he literally couldn't use any of them
But Master and Crazy Hand are always in the classic mode so we want DLC boss fighters in smash bros in classic mode like DJ Octavio Rayquaza Arceus Ultra Necrozma Porky Statue Ellfis
@vanessasandoval96 I Really Wanted The Brawl Rayquaza Battle Back So Badly. Also, Instead Of Arceus, Eternatus Might've Been Another Cool Choice, And A Promotional Gimmic For Sword/Shield
Haven't really gotten into classic mode aside from my mains, so most of my experience came from the world of light, I've probably fought them 5 times total, so who knows@@vanessasandoval96
Galleem is underrated. Apart from the rings, his attacks the most fun to avoid in the game for me between the cross bombs, fireball machine gun, electric orbs, grid lasers, solar waves, and summoning puppets. I had to re-fight him a lot, but I did not get tired of it. His theme is also one of the best in the game IMO.
11:45 I have never understood why the closest thing to a Bowser's Castle stage is the *third* form of the Paper Mario stage. How many first world levels do we have to have. It feels like a no brainer that should've been in Brawl.
Agreed. We could get a stage based on one from the Mario Kart games. Or World Bowser from Super Mario 3D World. Though adding one would make some people mad.
I liked fighting Galeem and Darkhon at the same time. Story: When I was beating World of Light for the first time, I used Yoshi, Pit, and Link for the final level. When I had Yoshi, I almost died by using his down special during the platforming section before one of the fighting sections 😅. But props to me for beating this first try I guess
I just play as the Kirby squad. Kirby first, then King D^3 and meta knight. Kirby's stoning and Dedede's Jet hammer does sick damage. Meta knight does his job at the two gods. Died so many times. I finished it as meta knight. For most bosses I finished as Kirby. Meta knight ends the fight.
I know nothing about classic mode so seeing Sephiroth have every single boss as his final classic mode boss is extremely funny to me. Especially since he's the last one listed every time lmao
I’m surprised that I still dont expect the cool bowser clip even though it’s so predictable… My personal favorite boss is Marx, the vibe is really creepy which I like and the attacks are fun. None of the bosses are really that bad though
It's awesome that Dracula and Marxx are literally the same boss from their respective games. Same moves and everything. The attention to detail on those two is insane.
I hope the next Smash game has it to where if you fight Marx on 7.0 or above (like the hands) you fight Marx Soul instead of Marx and he uses moves from Super Star Ultra
I actually really liked the Galeem/Darkhon fight. It was a lot of fun, fast pace and challenging yet not frusteratingly difficult. It felt good to dodge both attacks at the same time and really felt climactic. One of the most memorable, fun, and satisfying bosses I can remember.
Yeah I think boss battle appearance is with the great zapfish being sucked into the Octobot king you can’t attack Octavio unless reflected Octobot arms with the R move when Octavio is defeated the Octobot explodes
I love Marx's battle. Yeah it's another Super Star reference when it didn't need one but I feel like Marx was the best choice for if we got a Kirby boss (Except for mabe Zero but....I don't think that'll work). Plus he's so 1-1 to his boss while still having new attacks. He even does that thing where his first attack after reaching half health is the black hole. Also he was supposed to be creepier but the developers had to dial it back. The need for a dial back coming from Kirby is very fitting.
I love how horrifying they made Marx in this game! I really wish they used other bosses besides the hands more in classic mode Also what bosses do you all think would be cool in the next Smash game? I think Senator Armstrong from Metal Gear would be cool

marx is a great boss in smash but one thing i do hope is if we get another kirby boss it's magolor. marx represents the classic era of kirby and magolor would represent the modern one plus the whole high mage thing he's got going on could have him apply to more characters than just the kirby circle (and sephiroth because of course they make him the boss rush)
I wish there was an easy way to replay bosses just for fun. It’s really frustrating to fight 6 battles (Classic Mode sucks) just to fight Galleom as R.O.B That even locks other characters out of certain bosses. I can’t fight Galleom as Luigi outside of World of Light even if I wanted to.
Sephiroth basically being the Boss Rush mode is so dumb. I know that if there was a Boss Rush mode, Sephiroth's wouldn't be as special but I'm not really a fan of an entire mode not being there just so one character can flex.

Yes, I know Kalos Pokémon League exists, but I really wish they brought the Rayquaza fight from Brawl back. They could even give it its Mega Evolution if they wanted. Brawl’s other bosses are all really solid too.
Minor complaint about the Ganon-section: He has _two_ areas you can damage him at. One's the tail, yes, but once he's stunned from tail-damage, also his face. Specifically the _crystal_ on his head. Issue of course being how small it is, and needing to go around to attack it; if the attack's too large and hits another part of his head or face, it'll just nullify the attack wholesale. Still, was surprised it wasn't mentioned in the video.
I like how Dracula's fight is directly based on Symphony of the Night (or whatever game richter has a sarcastic af voice actor), even to the intro sequence.
Crazy Hand is my favorite boss from Smash Bros. He’s very underrated, especially since we only fight him twice in my favorite mode: Classic mode. Listen, I understand it matches the theme of antiheroes (Falco) and rivals (Ken), but it’s not enough to me! Bring more fights against Crazy Hand in Smash 6, please!
I'm a huge Monster Hunter fan, so I love the Rathalos fight. It is one of the most iconic monsters in the game. The items you get in the fight are actually how you would fight monsters in the game. The pitfall seeds work like the pitfall trap and the deku nuts work like flash bombs. A lot of the Rathalos' attacks are taken straight from the Monster Hunter games, like the charging attack and the claws that can poison you when hit. A lot of love was put into this one fight that not many people would see. The only way to make it more accurate is if you were able to cut off the tail.
I feel like The Dark World's bosses are meant to represent a sort of anti-triforce with Ganon representing Wrath, Dracula representing Sorrow, and Marx representing Chaos.
When i beat WOL in hard mode, i always went for darkon first so i could deal with galeem's tabuu-esque ring attack by itself. I still died to it a couple times even after getting darkon down which was super frustrating.
Monkey Paw Curls a finger: You get Dry Bones in smash, but it's simply a costume alt for Koopa Troopa who's alts are different koopa types such as parakoopa.
The normal galeem and dharkon fights are harder than the combined fight it took me a lot longer to do one of those and a lot shorter to do the combined I just did a hard mode playthrough so I would know
I'm gonna have to respectfully disagree with your opinion on Galeem and Dharkon's theme. They use lietmotifs in a real cool way that makes me love it. In Galeem's theme it repeats one segment of Lifelight too represent Galeem. In Dharkon's theme, it uses another segment of Lifelight for itself. But in the final theme, you can hear the two lietmotifs "fighting" over the song until..... a third lietmotif starts! The most iconic part of the Lifelight theme! It represents the player and it overpowers the two fighting lietmotifs and I love it so much.
Love how Sephiroth had almost every boss in his classic route and yet he’s a boss character himself in a way since they did include that mode he had. They gotta make safer Sephiroth boss fight for the next smash game if they ever do but who knows that’s Square Enix decision I’m sure.
As you mentioned in this video, I think that all of these exclusive stages should have been available in multiplayer. They would have rather unique backgrounds for their Battlefield/FD versions. (Also I think that these would've been a better reward for beating WoL.)

You can even cut the tail off with enough slashes to it, though there’s no point to doing it other than a stun for more free damage.

The second phase is actually based on Rondo of Blood's final boss.
I specifically meant the first phase and I should been more specific. Oh yeah, shut up nerd. 🤓 🤓 🤓 🤓
Brawl bosses next? :)))))))) (gr8 vid btw)
Hope 3 characters such as dark samus, richter and newcomer tails or shadow(sonic) will have crazy hand as their final boss in smash 6 classic mode
Why’d you have to call rosa cringe out of nowhere. Though that did make me laugh cause it caught me off guard
Bro always has to sneak in the bowser plushie clip
More smash love your videos
Always looking forward to a new post❤🎉
When i beat WOL in hard mode, i always went for darkon first so i could deal with galeem's tabuu-esque ring attack by itself. I still died to it a couple times even after getting darkon down which was super frustrating.
Take a drink every time you hear "and Sephiroth"
4:12 I didn't know that you could stan Master Hand by making him slam those spikes.
Monkey Paw Curls a finger:
You get Dry Bones in smash, but it's simply a costume alt for Koopa Troopa who's alts are different koopa types such as parakoopa.
The normal galeem and dharkon fights are harder than the combined fight it took me a lot longer to do one of those and a lot shorter to do the combined I just did a hard mode playthrough so I would know
Also if you hit continue you can just rematch the galeem and dharkon fight
Thank you for this video Odyssey! I remember asking for more boss rankings a while back so thank you.
Moral of the video
If you can’t decide which one you want to do then choose sepharof
"Number 11: Master Hand. Being The Face Of Smash Bros. Bosse- Well, I Guess It Doesn't Really Have A Face. Being The Main Boss Of The Super Smash Bros. Series." Best Quote Of This Video.
This is a video i'd like to watch while eating KFC's $20 Fill up box with a family of 4.
HA probably by yourself
That one eye pulse attack from galeem is actually my favorite ❤
If I’m correct, galeem and dharkon’s attacks are pulled directly from their bosses, except for the wave attack.
Tip: If u are playing as Lucas and aslo fighting Galem use PSI Magnet (Down Special) and u can Regen health when he does his Balls Attack
Really wished rayquaza returned with mega rayquaza as a second phase, or even a new pokemon boss. how cool would it be to fight ultra necrozma or arceus
Im honestly surprised we didn’t get a Pokémon boss
Gotta love that all the same bosses are in the bottom 5.
Nice ranking
