I'm glad I discovered your videos because I love your content. So much of what you're talking about is spot on and the funny thing is I sort of stumbled into the business. I'm retired and I had been frequenting a music venue near my house and was going in on music nights to have a few beers and hang out. One night I asked the house sound guy if I could shadow him and learn what he was doing. He said sure and that was the beginning of my journey. I was there every chance I could get and worked alongside him and another engineer for about a year without getting paid. I was fine with that because I was enjoying myself and I didn't get into it for the money. I honestly didn't think about where what I was learning was going to lead. It really didn't occur to me that at some point I would be doing it by myself and making some dough. I said several times that I was never going to be buying any equipment. Fast forward 3 years and now I have my own equipment and created a business. I work with other sound crews, do my own gigs and even joined the local IATSE Union. As long as I'm having fun, I'll keep going. No ego here, I'm enjoying the learning process still and while I've had several complements, I know I still have tons to learn and mistakes to overcome. Keep up the good content!

I feel like a lot of people would get into this line of work of they knew some ways to break in.
