For the individuals who are taking the Microsoft Office ProveIt Assessment (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), I highly encourage this video. I passed my tests with an overall score of 90.75. I made sure to add the video to my favorites so that if I am lacking in an area in the future, I can refer back to this video. Clear and concise instructions. The individual teaching this video is a great communicator in the sense that he does not bombard the viewers with confusing information.
If any want to learn excel , this is the place . the concepts are explained in crystal clear way . I’m going to many videos but eventually coming here for clarity . You are doing great service . Hats off
Two Rules to remember: First (The Data must be arranged in Vertical Columns) Second (The Information has to be to the left). Many Thanks for the clear and simple explanation.

You are a born video instructor. Your voice is engaging, your speed with the mouse is not too fast and not too slow, and your progression made sure I did not get lost. I am absolutely coming back to watch this again when I need another refresher. Subscribed!
Hey! I normally don't comment on videos, but I wanted to say how great this video is! It's been two years since I've learned this stuff and I feel like I'm being taught it even better!!
I've been watching your videos all morning just trying to get an idea of how to work with Excel. You have a wonderful way of teaching. I've watched your video's a few times over, taken notes & worked within the program while watching. I will most definitely be using them again to continue to learn Excel. Thank you for what you do. Keep up the good work.
Honestly, the best explanation of Vlookup I've ever found! All other explanations are just very confusing but you just made it look like it's a piece of cake! Thank you so much!
Exactly!!! He explained the way my brain understood it. 4 different arguments. 1: what you know 2: the range 3: the answer you need 4: true or false. I hope this person is making a ton of money seeing how he is amazing!🩷
Thank you so much for these. I retired 3 years ago and was fairly proficient with Excel. Recently started doing some personal financial work using Excel and was frustrated with how much I had forgotten. These are so well done and exactly what I needed to freshen my skills.
Never found that satisfactory video response. I just watched it 1 time and Now i can play with VLOOKUP easily. Hats Off to you. Great teacher. May God Bless you with prosperity and Kindness. Aameen.
I've been training VLookups for years...never thought to compare it to an Index in a book or a telephone directory. I will be using this example in future sessions. Thanks for the inspiration!
Glad you said that. I thought it was just me. This is a phenomenon; a game changer. If he could teach rocket science, I could understand it. Pure and plain English. This is where I will be for instruction. And a very big thank you.
To summarise the Look Up Function parameters or Four Arguments, it is simply in the letters ( V, T, C, R) or Value of look Up, Table Array, Column Index, Range or FALSE), as easy as ABCD. Many Thanks again for the clear and simple explanation.
Hello..I have a job interview on Monday and the job responsibility stresses the importance of using Excel. I found your videos today and IM EXTREMELY GRATEFUL because of your awesome teaching , I know I will be prepared for this potential job 😊!!
Man! Am I glad I found your videos. I'm great with Word and Powerpoint, but Excel is where I suffered in high school with other students being a distraction. Now looking for a new job where strong excel skills are a must, I'd like to get that skill set up. Thanks again!!
Hey man. You're the best. As a gratitude for your free lessons, I don't skip the ads even if I'm not interested in them so that you could earn more ad revenue.
Thank you so much! Your explanation that the Column Index Number is contextual and not the actual column number (A=1, B=2 etc) was what not many other tutorials covered & exactly why my formula kept failing
Your explanations and examples were incredibly useful. The best intro video on Vookup that I've seen...and I've looked at over 10 so far! Very well done sir!
I looked up many vlookup videos and this was the easiest one so far! I have to do it for work and I'm on my second day of struggling. Still not quite sure how I'm going to do it at least now I understand I'm almost there. Lol I'm going to keep watching this video while I pull up my spreadsheet
I've never used VCODE before. I watched this video twice and was able to adopt your example to do exactly what I needed in my report. Thank you for being so clear and concise.
or simply cut the original one and paste it to a new destination if you are going to delete the original destination anyways...cutting and pasting doesn't alter the formula.
Dragging does the same? I tried the 4 arrow drag(that appears when the cursor is over the borders) and the values did not change. I am new so just asking to make sure. thanks
@@randomjack477 Might be too late now (You might have watched further and this has been answered, I'm not sure), but No, simply dragging will still screw up the formula. If you drag the cell over by 1 cell, then all the information in the formula will be 1 cell off in the direction you drag it to. Easiest way to understand to get around it is to simply click on the cell you want to move, HIGHLIGHT the formula, copy that (This will copy it as text), click the cell you want to move it to, and then click paste. The "$" symbols in the tip above are also useful if you understand how to use them.
I'm doing a Coursera review of excel, and they did not explain each of the parts of the formula very well. This was so much clear. Thanks for breaking it down.
Very helpful. Excel has always been one of my biggest insecurities and it intimidates me, your tutorial made me understand the functions and objectives of Excel. Everything I know about Excel then is all cluttered up in my head, this helped me compartmentalized, sort, and regroup to get me a clean start (re)learning Excel.
This is excellent instruction! I subscribed some time ago but forgot I had. I've watched umpteen videos elsewhere trying to figure out how to do this and lost an entire afternoon. Spent 12 minutes here - and I'm able to move on! Thank you!
Excellent.... For the first time I heard about Vlookup... I tried it and got succeeded. Great explanation. Keep going on and on. Do educate us and keep your selves englihten
Hi, thank you so much. Your tutorials in MS Excel has helped me a lot. Could you kindly do a tutorial on how formula is created (not sure if this is possible tho.)
Best tutorial so far!! The tips on the last part really helps to clarify some questions. I would appreciate if you'll give tips everytime before you end your videos. Thanks!!!!!
You make it soooo easy to understand. Thank you!! Excited learning with your channel.😊❤ I have been sweating tryinh to understand in linkin and to be honest with you some people used difficult words to understand. You made it simple. Again Thank you.
Even though i consider myself between an intermediate to advanced excel user, I decided to start from the very beginning...just in case. Low and behold, there were a couple of actions/function in the beginner tutorial that i had not been aware of. it'll save time in the future! Great lessons...plan is, I will watch all 70+ tutorials. Easy to understand and thank you for explaining terms in a simplistic way. Very frustration free :-)
I knew how to do v-lookup but wasn't sure of its actual value because you can always just use control f or just copy two columns next to each other instead, but the way you used a new reference cell that you can change at any moment made it clear that v-lookup is useful. Thank you so much
Excellent teaching! Great, great. Thank you so much for taking the time to do this. I'm in between jobs and training myself new tools and you made this very easy to understand and the speed that you went was awesome. Thanks
Your all tutorials about Excel are amazing and I'm learning so much from you💕 But I would like to suggest one thing, Please write tutorials' serial Number on thumbnail so that we can find easily the next one.
Wonderfully done! I'm making some instructional videos for elementary students, and I wanted to make sure I didn't leave anything out. Reviewing your videos has helped me very much.
Your videos make it very easy to follow along and understand, thank you! I don't know if you have them already, but can you make videos for Microsoft Word, Access, or data management programs(SQL, Python, etc.)?
Awesome videos... I thought I was decent with Excel, but in just 3 videos, Beginners, Intermediate, and Advanced VLookuup Basic, I have learnt so much more. Looking forward to watching the others. Might get me that dream job at last.
Love your tutorials, I've learned more from you in a day than Kevin's Cookie Company over 2 months. I like the way you explain the material and it makes it easier to follow the content. But I have some questions. 1 - Can argument 1 the lookup value have a drop down list setup in it? 2 - Can argument 2 Table Array be on a different sheet or does it have to be on the same sheet? 3 - Can the argument 3 column lookup # be on a different sheet? The true - false is pretty much self explanatory. hope you can answer these questions. Thanks and have a great 4th.
Thank you .So helpful. One question please what if lookup value is more than one. How to list it in one column. For example first column has three or more value we look for and want to list all. Thank you
Hello, i love your videos, but i was wondering if you have any video for creating appointments, letters, and/or pick list. I would like to learn more about that since i would like to use those skills.
I sometimes have one problem with that formula, I wonder if you can advice a solution. The data that I'm inputting has two kinds: text and numbers (Example:1115T34-54 N/F) or just numbers (Example: 472728). To match the values it has to be identical and it is, but the cells are not recognized. If I apply to the column, that it is all text, it still sees the numbers. Only if I go cell by cell and click it with the mouth, than it sets it as text, but if I have 100 of these cells, that a headache. So may be you know, how to force excel to see full column as text only?
I love your videos but could you please number them, so that it would be easier to understand which one to watch first? Thanks for taking your time and doing these videos, they are extremely helpful!
hey, what a great way to guide us trough all the steps. Very clear, there is no confusion and I can actually apply this right away. And I have to tell I was trying with a bunch of tutorials before yours, but none of those works for me. ALREADY SUBSCRIBE AND LIKED!
I am really enjoying watching these videos. They are great refreshers for me and they help me understand things more clearer that I was having a hard time with.
wow i finally got to understand how Vlookup works!!I do use vlookup in the work but i'm not really that clear... though I don't have available data to have a practice currently I still believe this is a great start. Thank u sir :)
Exactly, don't watch the video if you are going to dislike. This video is so helpful.

I've never used VCODE before. I watched this video twice and was able to adopt your example to do exactly what I needed in my report. Thank you for being so clear and concise.
The value you bring to us through this education is immeasurable
You can lock values before moving them by hitting "F4" or by adding "$" signs such as "D1"->"$D$1"
or simply cut the original one and paste it to a new destination if you are going to delete the original destination anyways...cutting and pasting doesn't alter the formula.
Shahid thank you for this tip.
Dragging does the same? I tried the 4 arrow drag(that appears when the cursor is over the borders) and the values did not change. I am new so just asking to make sure. thanks

Yes. It's a good idea.
Go to his Channel > go to Playlists > "Excel" (I believe that's the name of the playlist where this video is at. The videos should be in order there.
hey, what a great way to guide us trough all the steps. Very clear, there is no confusion and I can actually apply this right away. And I have to tell I was trying with a bunch of tutorials before yours, but none of those works for me.
