    I have stripped this way and it is pretty easy but now I do it in a bucket. It's just as easy and there are less materials and less waste. Just put about an inch of acetone in the bottom of a bucket, sit your cup/cups in, put the lid on and let sit for 24 hours(ish) and it all just falls off. I know everyone has their way of doing things just thought I'd share mine. ;) Love all your videos!!

      That's exactly how i do mine. It so much easier and I can do multiple cups at a time.

      Does the acetone just work it's way up the cup, from the bottom to the top?

      verosanchez12 the fumes from the acetone do all the work! It’s my favorite and easiest way to strip a cup

    I just tried this, and it WORKS. I did it exactly like she did, however I let mine sit for a little over 48 hours, and it worked perfectly. I had prepped a 30oz steel tumbler with spray paint, a glitter epoxy layer and 3 layers of epoxy. After about 50 hours, I unwrapped the cup and everything g basically just slipped off as I unrolled the paper towel. It’s because of THIS video that I saved a tumbler and can totally reuse it. You saved me money, a major headache, and I basically have a new tumbler for resuse. Thank you so much. You totally earned my subscription. Thank you!

    I have a cup that is sticky. I used allumilite quick coat and I mixed 30 mls. I measured 15 mls of resin in a lil cup and 15 mls of hardener in another cup then I poured them in a cup together. I needed to do a final coat on the cup and then with the extra I made some little checkers for a checkerboard. Then the next day I tried to demold the checkers and they were very bendy. I left the cup and the checkers for another day. Still soft and bendy. I touched the cup and noticed it was sticky! Soooo do I need to strip the cup?? Normally I mix the 1-1 ratio in the same cup pouring B 1st and then adding A to the measurement I need. But I wanted to see if it made a difference. It did! I guess, I’m not sure what went wrong. The cup could have sat there for over 24 hrs and I didn’t sand it ,so could that make it sticky? I made 8 cups so I was back n forth. 🤔🤷‍♀️

    • @FlynnSistersBoutique
      @FlynnSistersBoutique  3 года назад +1

      Well unfortunately you could have a mixing error there. Quick coat requires really precise measurements and I always pour part a first then b over it since part a with this formula is thinner. It also needs you to mix a little longer for whatever reason. You could sand that completely down and probably be ok to coat over it. I wouldn’t use fast setting epoxy in molds. That never works out for me personally. It’s either too brittle or doesn’t cure well.
