    FILM DESCRIPTION:
When a group of civil rights workers goes missing in a small Mississippi town, FBI agents Alan Ward (Willem Dafoe) and Rupert Anderson (Gene Hackman) are sent in to investigate. Local authorities refuse to cooperate with them, and the African American community is afraid to, precipitating a clash between the two agents over strategy. As the situation becomes more volatile, the direct approach is abandoned in favor of more aggressive, hard-line tactics.

Wow, that line "the old man was just so full of hate he didn't know that being poor was what was killing him" is becoming, sadly, so timeless. How much misdirected anger are American citizens really going to keep putting up with? Is it just going to be this way forever?

Ever since I saw the movie “Final Countdown” in 1980s about the carrier USS Nimitz traveling back in time to DEC 6 1941 with the opportunity to prevent Peal Harbor attack and eliminate Japan’s role in WWII, I have hoped a movie would be made where a Naval Carrier would go back to APR 1861 and destroy the Confederacy in 48 hours. Would be so awesome to see helicopters with American Flags landing on battlefields - and F-18 superhornets, and F-35s annihilating Confederate forces in such a show of unbelievable technology that causes terror on such a scale.

The cross was seen as a symbol of Popish idolatry in the early years of Protestantism, and many of the reformed churches rejected it.
The fiery cross was later seen as a sort of evangelical device, in a 'blood and fire' sense. It is, remarkably, associated with Methodism.
